Okay, my keys are locked in my trunk. I called roadside assistance and they opened the car, but the trunk won't open with the button on the dash. The seat release levers are, of course, in the trunk, so there isn't a way in the trunk. Is there a way to get into the trunk and bypass the lock systems? It's a 2013 Sonata GLS by the way.
View 25 RepliesWhen I press trunk release button on dash or the trunk button on key, I hear the mechanism but trunk will not pop open. I press the button and pull up on the trunk, it is still latched. The key will not go all the way in lock on trunk, I assume it is seized.
I have sprayed 3 in1 penetrate in lock mechanism. Key still will not go in far. I cannot get back seat down. I am wondering if something got caught in latch that is restricting movement.
2012 sonata gls 84,000 km.
Other than checking the fuse and the valet switch, anything else to look for when the trunk will not open via the key or the dash switch? The car does make the beep when the key remote is pressed, but no open. Also, the top works fine. Gas door works fine. Manual release of trunk also works.

View 11 RepliesThis morning I noticed my Trunk release button by the steering wheel, and the release button on my key fob won't work. Using the key manually does open my trunk though.
I checked, and it is not in the locked valet mode. I do hear a slight "click" when I push either button so it's trying to pop the trunk but no activity.
What this may be? Didn't know if it might be an electrical issue and if there was a fuse to check? Or if maybe it's a mechanical problem and i'll have to get it looked at.
Locked the keys to a 2011 sonota in trunk. Locksmith got side door open but trunk will not open with button inside. Other set of keys 1500 miles away!

View 27 RepliesI have seen this happen twice on two different push to start Sonata cars at my shop. Customer stated that randomly it would lock the doors with his key inside while parked at home. I have not yet determined the pattern that could cause this issue.

When I hit the open button on the remote control, sometimes the trunk door doesn't fully un-hitche and it remains locked. I can completely close the door again and try again and it still won't open.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2007. So as the title says, my battery is completely dead, and my trunk is locked. I have the master key, but for some reason, it won't unlock the trunk. It will unlock the front door, but not the trunk. The switch on the dash won't release the trunk because the battery is dead, and the seat release is in the locked position, so I can't get in my trunk from inside the cabin either. This is an incredibly inconvenient situation, because I have jumper cables right there inside of my trunk.
View 4 RepliesI have 2007 mica LS, the key fob and trunk button on dash stopped working the trunk. The button inside the trunk will close it but i have to use the key to open it. I have taken battery post off and checked fuses, but not sure if I checked the correct one.
View 2 RepliesIn my 2014 Sonato Turbo model, I notice the sound of a vent opening and closing while driving. This is noticed when starting to drive or if the car has been placed in park while idling. My wife drives this car primarily so, I really can't tell when it started or if it has always done it. I have wondered if it has something to do with keeping fumes out of the car maybe. One thing I have noticed though is that it sometimes seems to also make the noise if you hit a bump.
View 3 RepliesMy wife has a 2013 Santa Fe. When she turns off her vehicle, her radio stays on until you open the door. To be honest that is how it works in most cars I have been in.
However it seems like in the Sonata 2013 it just turns off all together. Is this normal? Is there a feature to make it stay on until the door is opened?
Alright so I got my car detailed today, including the engine bay. Since I got it back I've noticed when locking the car it doesn't make that locking beep. But it does when unlocking the car.
Also noticed when locking the car, all doors lock, no lights, and that little alarm red light doesn't stay lit for 30 seconds when first locking the car it just flashes normally. So, no sound, no lights. What's the problem.
I have a 2011 with keyless entry and I can see the key fob on the center console ledge above the cup holders. My doors are locked for some reason and the wife has the spare set 40 miles away already at work. I tried pushing the button on the driver & passenger door and the trunk release. Nothing happens. I just drove the car yesterday and everything was working fine. I thought the doors wouldn't lock with the fob inside the car, or at least unlock if the fob was inside...?
View 30 RepliesMy father took the car to the grocery store and lost the keys. When we got the car from the dealer we only got one set of keys and proceeded to order a second set. Forgot to pick the other set and when I did the key did not worked. They (the dealer) swapped the 2 last digits from the VIN number so they had to reorder the keys. In the meantime how do I open the car. It is a 2003 Passat V6.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2013 Sonata GLS. Something I noticed (for the first time). If I leave the car unlocked and I stand in the proximity of the car, after about a minute or so, the lights will flash and lock the doors automatically (without me pushing the fob button). At first I thought the button was being pressed accidentally, but I proved myself wrong by taking the keys out my pocket and laying them on the garage workbench. Is this normal ?
View 10 RepliesMy son locked my keys in the cab of the truck. To complicate things, I have the Ford upgraded alarm which disables the keypad. And the real kick in the $^%, is that I only have 1 set of keys. I'm definitely going to have a couple of more sets of keys made when I get inside, how to get inside the cab. I live way out in the boonies and really would like to avoid calling a locksmith.

So i just parked and turned off my car, and i noticed i left my windows up, so i tried to turn the car back on but the ignition would not turn and steering wheel would not move. I pressed harder and harder but it still was locked. My bro told me that same happened to his Civic and to unlock it you have to press on break hard and ignition would unlock, i tried that but nothing happened.
I googled and read online to insert the key into the ignition, try turning the car on and at the same time turn the wheel side to side. I did it and the car unlocked. My question is this, why did it lack in the first place, has this ever happened to you, if so how did you unlock it.
