Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: Incoming Calls With No Names
Jun 24, 2016
Have a 2012 with the nav system and an iPhone 6. When someone calls in, no name is shown on the screen - it just shows my name. Is there a setting I missed??

View 1 RepliesI just got my 2012 Prius 4, the blue tooth is paired with my Samsung Captivate (SGH-I897), however the car bluetooth will not let me answer the incomming calls whenever I hit the green call button on the screen or the call button on the steering wheel.. or any button for that matter. The only way I can answer incomming calls is to dig out my phone and answer the call on my phone.. I called toyota and 3 customer service reps called me back and guess what, I was able to answer their phone calls on the car blue tooth... but no one else... I received numerous calls and was not able to answer them using my car bluetooth...
View 4 RepliesOn several occasions I have had an incoming phone call, but have been unable to answer it by pushing the off-cradle icon on the steering wheel.
I am not sure of the exact error message, but it informs my phone is in use (I frequently use the dumbed down Siri feature with that button, and also use the phone to connect to Slacker and iheart radio and its pod casts through the head unit).
I have a 2004 touareg with the 2005 disks & I am wondering how to get all the street names to show up? I am assuming it must be some setting that its on because right now I only get the major highways & interstate names. All the misc neighborhood roads etc. show up but the name of the street does not.
View 6 RepliesI noticed that the map on the NAV does not show all the street names. It seems to display all the streets but names for only about 1/3 of the streets. Sometimes even major roads don't have labels. Is there a way to get all the street names to display? I've tried playing around with the settings but can't seem to find anything that will display more street names.
View 11 RepliesI have a 2013 ES350 without navigation but have the Audio display. I paired mine and my wife's phone and both phones are Samsung Galaxy S4 so when I go to select phones both phones say the same number. How do I personalize these names so I can put mine and hers into the system instead of the same numbers
View 5 RepliesMy '05 (DVD) NAV only shows major highway routes - it doesn't show any of the local street names when I zoom in (other than showing the current street name on the MFI - it does do that). But I would expect to be able to see the names of every street appearing on the map display when I zoom in. (My friend's '03 Lexus supposedly can do this.)
I went through each Map Content selection. None of them offer me the ability to enable street names for the streets appearing on the MAP display.
Here is the problem, brand new Tiquan with the 315 Navi system. It does recognize my wifes and my Motorola phones. We can receive incoming calls, but to make an outgoing call we can not use the phone book. (the only way to call out is to say call number - say the number -etc.)
When trying to sync the phone book, the screen says ithat phone book import has started, but after several minutes you check phonebook and get the blurb "phone book not available"
I have a 2007 LS 460. Bluetooth connects fine to my phone and works great for few minutes. Bluetooth disconnects and I get a message to the meaning that Emergency calls terminates the bluetooth connection. Mind you that I did not touch anything nor have I made any emergency calls to cause this. I have to shut off the car and started it again to reconnect which again only lasts few minutes.
View 14 RepliesI've had so many issues with audio dropping out from phone calls and streaming that I've almost thrown my phone at the NAV screen in frustration.
Background: In the 7 months since I bought my car new (2013 GS F-Sport) I have had 2 Droid Maxx's, 1 Droid Turbo and am currently on a Samsung Note 4. I've gone through hard resets of my phones, deleting the phone from the car, changing apps in use, trying to use the car with after a reset and removing most stock apps. I've also mostly disabled the text message and email options as it doesn't work consistently, and I don't need people in my car to see when I get texts.
Each of the phones has has issues staying connected to the car. About 30 seconds after dropping the car will register the loss of the bluetooth connection. The worst part is I can go hours without a problem, then I'll get 1, or I'll get a problem every 4 minutes until it suddenly stops.
I've called Lexus a three times are had a few different answers. At first they told me to always drive with the wifi disabled and that should fix my problem. Then they said to have the dealership check my firmware. The dealership said my firmware dated 2012 is the most up to date (sounds like a load of BS to me). Most recently, they said there is an error in Android 4.2's kernel that screws up bluetooth. Now all of my phones have been on Android 4.4.x since I bought the car, and Lexus said they aren't aware of any issues with 4.3 or 4.4.
My coworker follows the same phone upgrade path as me (Maxx, Turbo and Note4), and he has never had a dropout issue on his 2014 X5, so the kernel issue doesn't seem to hold water.
Lexus made it sound like this is a WIDE spread problem, but not one they need to fix. Also what firmware version are you running in your 2013 GS?
I have a new Prius c with 500 miles on it, it streams bluetooth audio beautifully but the phone calls are horrible. Just though I'd check here before I take it to the dealer.

I have a 2008 Passat B6 2.0 TDi with a factory fitted phone provision. My mobile phone is recognised by the car - phone book etc. I can make a call and the screen on the radio shows "PHONE" but I can't hear any sound. When a call comes in there is no sound either and I can't communicate with the caller.
View 4 RepliesI have an I-Phone 4s and for some reason my car will not recognize when a call is coming in. I am continuously having to "forget" then resync my phone for it to work. Even then it will only last for so long. In addition, I can't seem to get the bluetooth to play music from my phone either.
View 1 RepliesI just replaced my OEM battery with a duralast from autozone. The battery had 138,000 miles. Shortly after, the check engine light came on and code says P0106. Map Sensor. Seems like to much of coincidence that this happened. Have read that disconnecting battery cables for 3 hours may do the trick.
View 8 RepliesI've only had my RX330 for a week. Dealer set up our phone to work in the navigation screen. Everything worked fine until tonight. When we get an incoming call it no longer 'rings' through the car's audio system. How do I get the 'ring' back? The screen indicates an incoming call, but the ring has stopped.
View 5 RepliesI recently got a Wolfsburg Tiguan with the RCD-510. When there's an incoming call, the ring is ridiculously loud, yet I still need to raise the call volume to hear the person on the line.
View 4 RepliesI'm having problem getting the contact name displayed for all incoming call. All the contacts have already been downloaded to the car, and I can see them all in the car bluetooth contact list.
When making out going call, it's only displaying the number, I am ok with outgoing. But for incoming calls, it will only display number which is very hard to tell who is calling.
I checked phone setting, and also in car's phone setting, can't figure out how to do it.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Nexus. I have it paired with the Prius V. This never fails, my calls get dropped after about a minute or a little more. I have to redial, then it happens again. Why?
View 8 RepliesI have a 2013 Camry XLE with navigation. About 6 months ago I got an LG G3 phone which I was able to pair with the bluetooth and everything worked fine until recently. I can make out going calls with no problem but when I have an incoming call the system won't pick up the call. When I use the answer call button on the steering wheel or on the nav screen the phone stops ringing but I can't hear the person on the other end and they can't hear me. I have removed and added the phone several times and every once in a while it will work but then it stops again.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2014 GX 460 and when I had the iPhone 5 the car used to "read" aloud the incoming text messages. This was a fabulous feature. Well, I just got the iPhone 6 and while it synced to the car easily, it no longer reads my incoming texts.
View 14 RepliesAll of a sudden, when I answer a bluetooth phone call, the phone call screen comes up but
1) Whatever was playing on my stereo doesn't stop and
2) Neither I nor the person calling can hear each other and the phone call ends.
What to do? I tried unpairing and re-pairing my phone and that did not work.
