I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0 Turbo Limited and the A/C seems to only be blowing cold air from passenger vents, and on driver side "warm/ hot ". What steps or what i can do to get this fixed.
View 3 RepliesI own a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS. Everything with the vehicle is fine until November of 2015. I noticed that the passenger side is blowing cold air when it should be blowing hot air. The driver side is fine. I thought it was a thermostat issue. At first I didn't change it until I noticed that the temperature gauge was acting up and realized that my thermostat was stuck open which made the engine over cooled. Once I replace the thermostat, I thought it would solve the issue with the passenger side blowing cold air but it did not. Basically its not a heater core issue, blend door is fine, the hoses that runs to and from the radiator to the firewall is fine and the one that runs to the water pump is good. I closed the passenger vents so only the driver side blows hot air. Its an annoying problem. I know the dealer can fix it but they want an arm and leg and it seems like I may be forced to take it to get it fixed.

AC Blowing out of the vent is cold but the rear seats passenger feels warm.
Even with the blower on the higher and temp on the lowest 65 (or lowest setting).
I put my hand towards the rear seat and I feel warm air. Near the vents are cool but its like the AC can't keep up with the heat ?

I've got a 2012 Hyundai Sonata LTD and have been loving it for the past year (bought it certified pre-owned last February). I've noticed, however, that there is a clicking coming from the passenger-side AC vent or general passenger-side dashboard area. It seems to be somewhat tied to whether I have the air recirculation (outside air) button turned on or not. I typically use my front defrost a lot, which, when enabled, shuts of the air recirculation button. This seems to encourage the clicking sound, whereas if I turn on the air recirculation, the clicking eventually goes away after the car warms up and after ~10 minutes.
From my internet research, it would seem that other types of cars have reported a similar issue and it's been attributed to either a bad actuator or something called recirculation failure. I just bought a 2013 Sonata. There is a whistling noise from the passenger side vent closest to the door that appears at about 70 mph when in MaxAC mode. It is high pitched like a venturi. It goes away when switched out of MaxAC mode or when the speed drops below 70. I am guessing that it has something to do with the outside air being squeezed off.
View 12 RepliesOn my 2003 GX 470 w/ 135,000 I have an issue that I can't figure out how to resolve.
The driver side lets out hot heat and the passenger side lets out cold air. I have the dual climate control and both sides are at MAX HEAT with the blower on HIGH. I have 2 vents for each the passenger and the driver.
The left side of steering wheel vent is allowing max heat. the right side of steering wheel vent lets out warm air. Not as hot as left side but warm. On the passenger side, its only letting out cold air and gets colder if I lower the temp on the climate control for right side.
Engine coolant is full, no lights on dash. Blower motor sounds like its working fine.
I've had my 2011 Harbor Grey Limited for about 1 month. Love the car but my wife noticed that after it was sitting out in the sun today the passenger B pillar had 3 small bubbles about the size of a dime. By the time that she got home the bubbles were gone and I cannot see any signs of them after closely inspecting the window. It was in the 50f today not very hot at all and not sure if the cold air on the drive home caused the bubbles to disappear.

View 14 RepliesI have a 2011 Sonata with 40k miles and am hearing what sounds like a dragging ... medal touching medal .... brakes dragging sound coming from the passenger side mainly when the car is cold. Could this be a possible wheel bearing going out???
the car is lowered about an 1.5 inches and and sit on a staggered wheel set. 18x8.5 up front and 18x9.5 in the rear. Just want to know if I should be worried.
I bought a white 2015 Sonata GLS with 55000 kms on it. Car works fine but really great on gas in city with AC ( 11-12 liters/100 kms ).
And my main problem is my AC/heater vents. Its nice cool day out and I wanna roll my windows up and use outdoor air (with AC off and heating knob on cool - Blue side) but still blow warmer air (the more I turn the temp knob to less cool side more warm air comes out). I went to dealership and complaint about it but they said can't duplicate problem. And I replaced cabin air filter too, but still same problem.
I don't have automatic temperature climate control option, so its all manual, red and blue setting for heat and cold. I complaint them may be my heater stuck on heating but no action taken from them..
I have a 2004 GX470. Now that the weather has dropped I have noticed that my heater is taking a long time to warm up all it does is blow cold air out of the vent. Subsequently I have started to notice that they car will start to overheat. It will never get to the point where it will hit the red but it will go up and then come back down to mid range. There doesn't seem to be anything else wrong with the car, it idles fine, starts fine etc. Could these two issues be related?
View 14 RepliesI have a 1986 Monte Carlo SS with 305 HO engine. Recently when driving along suddenly I have hot air blowing out of the vents, then in a few minutes it goes back to the cool air. This happens whether it is set to vent or air conditioner. How can I fix it??
View 8 RepliesMy 08 Azera blows cold air out the drivers side vent when everything on the right sides blows heat. If I set drivers side 88 degrees it blows some warm air. I changed the cabin filter and that did not work.
View 13 RepliesMy A/C system is working fine but my passenger side vent isn't blowing air, Air comes our of the 3 other vents. I am not sure if something is stuck in there or if the A/C compressor isn't working.
I remember seeing a step by step guide of how to change it ages ago. But that my have been for something else. I have a 2007 Sonata GLS.
I found a post in the forums with a similar issue to the one I have the only difference is that I have a Sonata GLS 2012:
"one of the "slider" control knobs on my '04 sonata has broken and i need to replace it. i'm not sure i'm calling it by the right name; i can't seem to find it anywhere when i google it. it's the small plastic piece in the middle of the air vent that controls the direction of the air flow.
In my 2014 Sonato Turbo model, I notice the sound of a vent opening and closing while driving. This is noticed when starting to drive or if the car has been placed in park while idling. My wife drives this car primarily so, I really can't tell when it started or if it has always done it. I have wondered if it has something to do with keeping fumes out of the car maybe. One thing I have noticed though is that it sometimes seems to also make the noise if you hit a bump.
View 3 RepliesWhen I turn on the heat, I only get hot air through the drivers side vent,the passenger side vent is very cold. I had it in to be worked on (at a Non-Toyota shop)and they tore it completely apart and could not diagnose the problem. It affects the entire system,meaning the air going to defrost is also hot on the drivers side and cold on the passenger side.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata. The a/c air vent is not working on the passenger side. The vent on the drivers side is working. I believe it is the temp door actuator? Can we fix this on our own? Mileage is over 60,000 miles? That is the only problem I have had with my car.
View 1 RepliesI have a 2008 Santa Fe Limited. Today I briefly turned the heat on since the outdoor temp was cool. Later in the day, I resumed the A/C AUTO setting at 72 for BOTH sides of upper vent outlets. I soon noticed that the driver's side blows warm air and the passenger side blows cold air as it should. No amount of adjusting the temp control either up or down had any effect on the driver's side except for constant warm air. Now I know the passenger side can be adjusted separately but both sides were set for the same temp. Never had this happen before. Always before, if I wanted warm air, the warm air would come through the floor outlets. What's causing warm air to come out the top driver's side vents when it should be cold? Could a diverter door be stuck?
View 2 RepliesSo I installed my XS HID low beams and fogs a couple of weeks ago, and everything was working fantastic. However, when I installed my LED turns and load resistors, whenever I turn on the low beams, the inline 30A fuse pops. The HID fogs continue to work. The switchback turns work great, and I have never got any hyperflashing.
I have checked all the connections, and they all seem strong. I have used the diagram I found on here from exLEDshop outlining all the connections on the pin array for the headlight harness. I am tapped into the blue wire on the driver's side for + turn and the black for -, and the black w/orange stripe on the passenger side for + turn, and the black for -. If I accidentally have the load resistors connected to the wrong wire, would the turns hyperflash?
I know that it would be better if I used grounding points on the chassis for the load resistors, but could this be causing the short? Or could bad ballasts that are the culprit? The only reason I'm leaning away from it being the ballasts is because they worked fine until I put the load resistors in.
I have a 2011 Elantra and the air conditioning is not blowing cold air. I checked the system pressure with the AC running and get 83 psi on the low side and 85 psi on the high side. I have not found any documentation about what the correct readings should be...
