Sonata I45 (YF - 2011+) :: 2014 - No Light Blink When Locking
Nov 1, 2016
GF has a 2014 2.4 that suddenly stopped blinking the lights when you lock the doors. Car still honks and locks fine, just not blinking to confirm. Headlights, turn signals, etc. still work otherwise.

I noticed something strange in my '12 SE. When going around a long sweeping curve, the passenger seatbelt light will blink. It only happens when I'm pushing it thru the turn. It stops as soon as I straighten the wheel. I do usually have my lunch box sitting in that seat, but it weighs less than 2lbs. I'm guessing the seatbelt sensor takes a lot less weight to activate it since I know the forces of the curve is not making my lunchbox weigh 40lbs, which would make the "airbag off" light go out.

Is it possible to do this? There are times I'd like to just run inside for a second but every time I lock my doors it quickly unlocks them.

I have the base model radio in my Sonata. I usually just keep a thumb drive in it to play music from so I don't have to worry about ipod or cds being stolen or anything.
About three times a week on random songs, the player locks up. Filename stays displayed in a large font, and never plays. When this happens, the CD player also won't work. The only cure so far is to turn the car off for a few minutes, the start it again. Just powering off the radio itself doesn't seem to work. All will be well for a few days then it will happen again.
I have eliminated the thumb drive and the music files as causing this.

I have the same problem as in the youtube video. It is my 2011 Sonata SE with smart key. I have 100k Miles and checked with the dealership and they said no recalls on my car.
[URL] ....
Wondering what the problem is? Is it just the Actuator or Lock and Actuator Latch Assembly both?

I have a Hyundai Sonata 2011 all was fine until a couple days ago when I lock the doors using the remote I hear it click then in 20 minutes later the lights are blinking on and off. I use the remote to lock the doors again and the same thing happens. I replaced the battery in the remote , I also had the battery in the car checked. What could be triggering the lights to keep blinking ?

I have a 2011 sonata gls. Today I noticed when locking the car with the remote keyless entry, the hazard lights don't blink, and also no horn feedback when the remote is pressed twice within 4 seconds. I checked all settings in the display and horn feedback is set to "on". The unlock on the fob works fine, the hazard lights do blink for that. I know this is not a serious issue, just used to hearing and seeing the doors lock. What to look for to fix this?

My 2013 is 9 months old and over time I've noticed whenever I lock my doors. My passenger side rear door does an extra click. Sounds like it's locking twice, an extra one after the original click. It's not a huge deal, I just hear it every time and I wonder if it could turn into an issue with locking etc.. Don't have a problem bringing it into the dealer for a look.

I am used to hitting my lock button on my key fob and hearing the horn honk to confirm it is locked. Is there a way to have the horn blow as well as see the lights bling to indicate the doors are locked?

I've finally logged about 3000 miles into my 2014 Sonata. In the last few weeks of driving, I've noticed during stop and go traffic, that initial stepping on brake pedal decompresses kinda weird. It's almost like its too squishy on the initial few mm's of stepping on it. It seems to go away after pumping the brakes after i turn off the car. But it comes back randomly, sometimes on short drives, mostly noticeable in traffic where you brake more than usual.
I brought it to a hyundai dealership to get looked at initially but the service manager played with it and didn't notice anything out of ordinary so he did not request it to be serviced. But since it came back and starting to annoy me more and more.. i need to drop it off and have it looked at. I haven't even gotten my first oil change either.

Having issues regarding Moisture in the car... I have a 2014 Sonata SE and i live in Seattle and here most of the time is a rainy and my car is producing lot of moisture inside with in couple of minutes after drive or if i parked outside also. I am not Re-circulating the air and switching on the Air condition every time when ever fogged. But, today i have switched on the A/C for almost 5 minutes and put on Exhaust mode. Some how moisture is still inside the car. This problems i am seeing at the time of i bought the car. I have noticed most of cars are not fogged but do not know why the new Hyundai Sonata is pretty fogging.

I have a 2014 Sonota GLS purchased in February of this year. Kept all service dates and oil changes. Have a problem with engine noise? Not like low oil knocking or anything, just cheap engine loud?

2014 Sonata had issues with the driver and passenger seats only getting warm? We just bought the car and the seats never get hot. The seats are warmer when I get in the car at the end of the day than they are when the heated seats are turned on.

Now that the weather has gotten very cold, I used the rear windshield defroster a couple of times this week. The smell that it emits is absolutely disgusting, I had to turn it off. The front defroster isn't much better. What could be causing it? Also the rear defroster, when working, defrosts the window in a "V" shape, meaning the center is clear but the sides and top/bottom are still frosted. I have a 2014 GLS.

4400 miles on it. Over last few days the transmission started to slip. First gear engages fine, but the change to 2nd involves a rev....(with no acceleration) till it finally grabs.
Reverse into my garage up my slight incline of a drive does same. Slip rev....slip rev... No gear noises.
Tried to check fluid level...(that's what it sounded like to me) but sealed system.
Taking it in for warranty check/work.

I have been driving my 2014 Sonata GLS in Sport mode with no problem. However, two days ago the engine got extremely noisy. I checked the Comfort and Normal modes - definitely no scary noise. Is this common?

2 days ago, and again twice today, I have had an issue when I need to change lanes and speed up, but when I hit the gas pedal (not flooring it, but significant pressure) I have had the car jerk 3 times while the rpm needle goes up to 6. Then the rpm drops to 2, the acceleration finally kicks in, and a huge puff of grey smoke makes the cars behind me completely disappear.
I've read threads about the smoke with the acceleration, but no one mentioned the jerking and not wanting to actually accelerate at first.
There are 33,000 miles on my car.
I called the dealership and they said it only sounds like it's an issue that something in the engine needs to be cleaned out, and they want to charge me $200 if that's the case.
Should something need to be cleaned out at only 33,000 miles? (mind you I also just had the dealership tell me I didn't need my 30,000 mile tune up yet after doing an inspection).

My 2014 Sonata GLS has definite air conditioner problems. It takes some time for it to get cold. I had no problems with my 2011 Elantra - I never had to turn the air conditioner to its highest level. In addition, it cooled almost immediately. However, I have to turn on the Sonata's air conditioner to full capacity and wait several minutes before I get some cool air. When it's 95 degrees out here in Florida, a few minutes can seem like a long time.
Haven't had my car checked yet.
