My wife has a 2013 Santa Fe. When she turns off her vehicle, her radio stays on until you open the door. To be honest that is how it works in most cars I have been in.
However it seems like in the Sonata 2013 it just turns off all together. Is this normal? Is there a feature to make it stay on until the door is opened?
Looking for pictorial descriptions / videos on how to replace the CV axles on 2011-14 Sonata 2.4? Mine starts developing clicking noise under tight turns about 10k miles ago but the boots are absolutely fine. I just hope to buy some time on it before I can confidently replace those axles myself as I only have limited cash.
View 3 RepliesShortly after buying a used 2013 Sonata the radio started working intermittently then quit working at all.It's the base model radio with no navigation and no reset button. I have tried disconnecting the battery, re-seating fuses and even pulling the harnesses off of the radio and it is still not working. Before replacing the radio I want to see if i can use a battery to power it up on the bench to see if the radio is bad or if the problem is somewhere else in the car.

View 2 RepliesI just bought a 2013 Sonata. There is a whistling noise from the passenger side vent closest to the door that appears at about 70 mph when in MaxAC mode. It is high pitched like a venturi. It goes away when switched out of MaxAC mode or when the speed drops below 70. I am guessing that it has something to do with the outside air being squeezed off.
View 12 RepliesIn my 2014 Sonato Turbo model, I notice the sound of a vent opening and closing while driving. This is noticed when starting to drive or if the car has been placed in park while idling. My wife drives this car primarily so, I really can't tell when it started or if it has always done it. I have wondered if it has something to do with keeping fumes out of the car maybe. One thing I have noticed though is that it sometimes seems to also make the noise if you hit a bump.
View 3 RepliesOkay, my keys are locked in my trunk. I called roadside assistance and they opened the car, but the trunk won't open with the button on the dash. The seat release levers are, of course, in the trunk, so there isn't a way in the trunk. Is there a way to get into the trunk and bypass the lock systems? It's a 2013 Sonata GLS by the way.
View 25 RepliesI've been having trouble with the stock radio in my 2011 SF. It randomly turns off, then turns back on by itself, 5 to 10 minutes later. It comes back on in whatever mode/ station it was on when it turned off. I've pressed every button, tried to insert a cd, and tried the steering wheel buttons. The USB power goes off too.
The station memories stay, so I don't think it's a power issue, at least at the fuse level. The battery is fairly new. I've cleaned the fuse and both ends of both ground wires in the engine bay. When I cleaned the fuse, I lost station memories, is there two fuses for the radio, perhaps? Or does the memory power and radio power split after the fuse box?
have a GPS and don't use Sirius/XM anymore. I've read part of the radio/ nav system sticky, wow, is it long.
I have a 2011 Sonata with the NAV package, and this morning when I started the car I found that I have no sound coming from my speakers. Stereo powers up just fine, all controls including nav and bluetooth seem to be functioning perfectly, and yet I am getting no audio.

View 2 RepliesOn my 2013 GLS i went to adjust the column back to me as my girlfriend drove on saturday night (octoberfest ) and as i pulled it back out the car shut off. i pushed it back in a little and the car started fine and has until i tested the issue again this morning when i got to work. i moved it about half way out and the radio shutoff. moved it a little more and the whole car shut off. it will not start until i push it back in some.
I am thinking that a cannon plug or something is either too short or routed wrong or something to that effect as i have the ignition on the column instead of the push button.
So...the trunk light will never turn off if the trunk is open? Just wondering, since a bottle of Shiner Bock broke in my trunk and i want to air it out. Yeah i don't feel like removing the bulb, i just wanted to know if there is a time limit or disable feature somehow.
View 7 RepliesMy wife couldnt get her 2011 SE to start this morning. It engine turns over strong but it wouldn't start. Brake lights worked. Brake pedal very hard. Tried several times but would not start. Finally I jumped battery just in case and it cranked. Don't know if this was coincidence or not. Car is two years old and only 30k. I checked for interior lights being left on or other things that might drain the battery.
Could a low Fob battery cause this? Brake switch? No codes thrown. Taking in to dealer but wanted to rule out a simple fix.
I have a 2011 F350 Lariat diesel crew cab. All of a sudden my remote start will not work, sometimes i can do it 5 times and it will finally but most of the time I just hear a lot of clicking noises in the engine like relays or something. Also when I exit my vehicle, if I use either the key fob or the outside keypad on the door to lock the vehicle, the stereo system turns on and stays on. When I open the door it shuts off. The only other thing that might be related is the other day when I put my windshield wipers on, the worked in super super slow-motion, stopped and then started again but at like 1/4 of the normal speed.
View 2 RepliesI think the actuator for my driver's rear door is on the fritz. Basically it fails to lock/unlock automatically like the other three do. The other three work fine - to include the passenger rear door.
Again - if I manually push the lock it works as it should (both lock and unlock) - but it will not unlock with the FOB. I removed the door panel and everything looks good - I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the inner (black) panel so I can get to the actuator.
I can hear the actuator trying to unlock it some times - I can hear a vibration coming from the door when it tries. But again - the passenger rear works fine. I think the biggest thing I need to do now is to get behind the inner door module (black trim) to see what is going on - but I can't figure out how.
Whenever I start my 2011 Sonata Turbo after it has been resting overnight, the brake warning light comes on and stays on. It's not immediate?it usually takes five to ten seconds, and whether the emergency brake was on when I started has no effect. Once it goes on, it cannot be shut off without shutting off the car and restarting?at which time it acts normally for the rest of the day. The braking system is fine.

View 10 RepliesI have the base model radio in my Sonata. I usually just keep a thumb drive in it to play music from so I don't have to worry about ipod or cds being stolen or anything.
About three times a week on random songs, the player locks up. Filename stays displayed in a large font, and never plays. When this happens, the CD player also won't work. The only cure so far is to turn the car off for a few minutes, the start it again. Just powering off the radio itself doesn't seem to work. All will be well for a few days then it will happen again.
I have eliminated the thumb drive and the music files as causing this.
Today I woke up to go to work and noticed that I don't have any sound coming from my radio. At first, I thought the station might be having some issues so I tried a different station and still no sound. I switched to CD player and guess what...no sound. I tried XM and guess what...no sound. I tried bluetooth and guess what...still no sound. When I got to my destination, I shut off the car, then started the car back up and guess what...still no sound. I messed with the sound settings and it's not in mute, volume controls are functioning fine. I know that the Dimension sound system have some kind of amplifier that is powering the speakers.
View 1 RepliesJust put a new battery in our 2011 Sonata, now the radio doesn't turn on. Didn't find anything in the owners manual about this, and when I called the service dept at my dealer they said "I don't know, you'll have to bring it in". Hope it might be something simple to reset?
View 7 RepliesI just purchased everything for my audio and I need wiring behind the radio. I purchased a Audio Control LC6i and I need to know which wires are for which speaker. I tried the Hyundai tech info website but it doesn't show anything when I go into the diagrams. By the way I have no navi just the steering wheel controls.
