I have the Sonata 2013 GLS and I've noticed the transmission is slipping. I drive it hard.
So the guy said he was going to call me, never called me back. I called 3 times and no one knew what the 30k service included. it was a simple question, I just asked if they could check when was the last time I had a transmission service.
I tried checking the level but it has no dipstick. what should I do? my car has 54,000.
4400 miles on it. Over last few days the transmission started to slip. First gear engages fine, but the change to 2nd involves a rev....(with no acceleration) till it finally grabs.
Reverse into my garage up my slight incline of a drive does same. Slip rev....slip rev... No gear noises.
Tried to check fluid level...(that's what it sounded like to me) but sealed system.
Taking it in for warranty check/work.
I have been noticing that not only can I feel the trans. shifting but it feels like an old trans that is slipping. Is this normal?

- 65 to 70 take the foot off the gas and feels like a clunk, also happens at 35-40.
I have felt the slow down affect at 40 and it doesn't feel the same. Also, coming out of parking spot - the rpms went up but the car didn't go but suddenly jumped - like the tranny is slipping.
I took it in to the dealer X3, "camrys do that", reset the ECM, thinking of selling this thing - my Honda's have never given me any problems but they are much noisier but I can handle noise vs worrying the tranny will crap out on me in a few years.
I have a 2009 Hyundai Sonata V6 3.3. I'm currently about to hit 65k miles. About 2 weeks ago i felt the transmission slipping while I was on the highway. Yesterday my check engine light came on. I took it to my mechanic; according to the reader, the Dampener Clutch System was the problem. This morning when I took the car out, I realized that the Check Engine light went away but still could feel the transmission slipping.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2011 F-150 with the v-6 automatic. The truck has just under 45,000 miles on it. Couple of times I have started it up in the morning to head to work, and when I put it in gear(fwd or reverse) it seems to slip at first. It does it just the one time, then it will be fine. It only happens in the morning after sitting for the night and when it is cooler(Arizona here so hasn't gotten much cooler than the 50's at night so far). I need to take the truck in for another issue, but thought I would ask on here first.

View 1 RepliesGot the truck 2 months ago and it only happened 3 times; always on a cold engine.
2 times were on my street at low speed just out of my driveway. It's like the engine shuts down for a while and maybe downshifts too. Feels like someone is stepping on the brakes for a second and then all is back to normal.
Last time I was getting out of a restaurant and accelerating hard to get up to speed on a 70km/h road. The downshift happened while I was going almost 70 but still in low speed so the braking effect was severe enough to throw me forward. Once again everything was fine the next second.
I'm not sure if it's the transmission downshifting or the engine cutting; maybe even the ABS kicking in for some reason. It happens too fast and too rarely to be sure. My feeling from what I remember is that the truck is downshifting and I'm feeling the braking effects from compression. 6.2 engine.
2011 f250 gas 4x4... I bought last year with 65k miles, now has 105k. sometimes when accelerating it slips for a second like a manual would if you jabbed the clutch while pulling. I had the 100k trans flush done. I noticed it a couple times before but more frequent recently. How concerned should i be?
View 6 RepliesI own a 06 sonata with 95000 miles. Recently I've been having issues with my transmission. It occurs only at slow speed when i travel in first gear. What happens is when the car is moving, it feels like it shifts into neutral but indicator still shows D in the cluster. I press the accelerator nothing happens it just revs,no increase in speed whatsoever.
So that rules out slipping issues. Now i narrowed the problem down a little more whenever the problem crops up i shift the gear lever into sports mode, i feel a jerk and car shifts into first gear and it moves. If i dont shift into sports mode it catches gear in about 7 seconds.No fault codes.
And if i rev it high transmission goes into limp mode and stays in 3rd gear till i restart the car.Then i get P0731 incorrect first ratio.Changed ATF 7000 miles ago. Could it be a faulty range sensor?
13 Sonata alarm keeps going off, press once to arm it. Goes off randomly few minutes latet get told all the time alarms going off.

View 18 RepliesShortly after buying a used 2013 Sonata the radio started working intermittently then quit working at all.It's the base model radio with no navigation and no reset button. I have tried disconnecting the battery, re-seating fuses and even pulling the harnesses off of the radio and it is still not working. Before replacing the radio I want to see if i can use a battery to power it up on the bench to see if the radio is bad or if the problem is somewhere else in the car.

View 14 RepliesFor the last 60 miles, my fuel gauge is showing major usage,for every 6 miles it is using 1/10 of gauge.
When I go to fill gas it takes only less than 1/3 gallon of gas then it clicks full.
So I have driven 24 miles and it is showing 4/10 gauge used up.
No smell of gas
I am driving 2013 Sonata for over 13 months, after 2 Synthetic oil changes, I have noticed that colours of oil turns darker after only 1500 miles each time, first synthetic was Quaker State and currently Castrol synthetic.
My Question is, what is the reason that causes the oil to turn dark,what is that substance which goes in oil to make it dark. My previous car Honda Accord could go 7,000 miles without any change in synthetic colours. Whatever it is which causes oil to get dark, cannot be good for engine.
I am being forced to change synthetic oil after 2000 miles. Do not want to drive my Sonata with dark oil. What causes even synthetic to turn dark after 1500 miles. Also why synthetic oil stays clear upto 1500 miles.
Which one is better and why?
View 10 RepliesI was driving my car on Sunday and twice within a span of 30-45 minutes the car stalled while I was driving and just shut off. I had driven 70-80 miles earlier in the day without stopping, and after about an hour, went back out to run some errands. After a light turned green, I proceeded through the intersection and made it halfway before the car stalled. Luckily, it was on an incline and I was able to coast to a parking lot out of the way of traffic. I tried to immediately restart the car, but the engine would attempt to start, but not fire, like the alternator was faulty.
After waiting 10 minutes, the car started up, and I immediately tried to make it to an auto part store. I made it about 10 minutes down the road and the car stalled again in front of the auto part store. They came out to check the battery, alternator, and started, and said all were fine and they were not showing any issues from their test. After waiting another 10 minutes, the car started up and I was able to make it home.
I dropped the car off at the local dealer on Monday and was told they are not able to replicate the problem, and the computer is not showing any codes, so they are not sure on what to do or fix.
My Sonata is abt 5 months old w/4000 miles. Recently I noticed noise coming from dashboard while turning and now I just noticed that the front passenger side floor is all wet! My question is, what can cause this much amt of water to leak inside the car?

I was driving on the highway last night and next thing you know I lost the engine/power and all the dash lights came on so I pulled over and after the dash lights stopped kind of flickering I could not start the car back up. I tried all the tricks I read about...holding the start button in for 30 seconds, rocking the car to loosen brakes, etc and still car wont start. I have a new battery and car was just serviced last week. Oil is good. Radio and all electronics work fine. Brake light comes on when depressed but its stiff. I tried a code reader on it and its generating zero codes.
View 3 RepliesMy '13 GLS has recently developed a rattle in the passenger seat. I know that's what it is, because if someone is sitting in the seat, or I press against the seatback, the rattle stops.
I'm sure this is being magnified by the absolutely horrible roads left behind by the "winter wonderland" we've had, but I'm not sure I can continue to drive 46 miles twice a day without thinking about running the car into a telephone pole.
