I got a ghost light kit for my 2013 Sonata GLS. Installing the front door lights was simple. Since the rear doors don't have courtesy light it's a bit of a challenge for me. s there another wire I can tap into somewhere that would allow this light to work?
View 3 RepliesMy 2013 is 9 months old and over time I've noticed whenever I lock my doors. My passenger side rear door does an extra click. Sounds like it's locking twice, an extra one after the original click.It's not a huge deal, I just hear it every time and I wonder if it could turn into an issue with locking etc.. Don't have a problem bringing it into the dealer for a look.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2013 Sonata GLS. Something I noticed (for the first time). If I leave the car unlocked and I stand in the proximity of the car, after about a minute or so, the lights will flash and lock the doors automatically (without me pushing the fob button). At first I thought the button was being pressed accidentally, but I proved myself wrong by taking the keys out my pocket and laying them on the garage workbench. Is this normal ?
View 10 RepliesMy 2013 Sonata GLS has a noise that is in the rear of the vehicle going down the road. I rotated tires from back to front and noise seemed to move to front. I moved them back to rear so noise would be behind me. This told me the noise must be the tires or wheels. The tires are a long way from being worn out so I keep running them. I have the stock alloy wheels but previous owner put 225/40R18 tires on car. Tires size on door jam label says tire size on this GLS is supposed to be 225/45R18.
Could it be the wheels and not the tires? Another possibility could be factory lug nuts on back wheels. I read in my street rod magazine that lug taper length must be shorter than the taper length on wheel lug holes. Lugs cannot be so long that lugs hit the wheel backplate leaving the wheels slightly loose and not centered leaving a slight tire wobble when driving. The article says the lug taper much be shorter than the taper in the wheels in order to snug the nuts. I did not switch the lugs when rotating tires to front. If this is the problem rather than tires or wheels, Hyundai had a lug supplier problem.
Is it normal for the rear defroster to only defrost the middle of the window. The top and bottom don't defrost. Does this have to do with the antenna?
View 4 Replies'13 Sonata GLS w/ 4100 miles - when snow was on the ground 4 days ago, the ESC symbol would occasional flash indicating loss of traction (I was sort of pushing it around some corners for fun) and it seemed to correct throttle, etc. - everything working as it should.
Then yesterday on the commute home with nothing on the ground the light came on and stayed on while driving local & highway. This morning's start-up it was gone. Commute home and it came on again 5 minutes into the drive. But again another restart the light doesn't stay on.
I tried reading codes with an OBD scanner but it says NO CODE - the light is currently off, but was hoping it stored something. Manual says possible ESC malfunction if the light stays on, but it's been erratic.
I first saw them on the 2013 build and price and was thinking that I should look into adding them to my 12. I never got around to looking up part numbers. So, recently I thought of it again and after a little poking found that they could be had as a Ford accessory kit for around $110 depending on your dealer. MSRP is 133 I think. So, I hit the dealer and grabbed a set they had in stock. Install took 30 minutes. Very easy. They give the wheel wells a finished look and offer lots more protection than the small plastic strips on the rear that came with the truck. A hundred or so bucks well spent if you don't have them. There are aftermarket ones that are a touch cheaper on eBay by Rugged Liner but they don't work with the 5th wheel prep which I have.
View 14 RepliesI have a 2012 Hyundai Sonata Limited. The rear defroster light on the dash does not light up. The rear window defroster DOES work, but the light does not light up. I took it to the Hyundai dealer and they ordered and replaced some module. They saw the light still did not light up. The service manager said she called other dealers and discovered that none of the 2012 Sonata rear defroster lights lit up, so concluded it was supposed to be that way.

1. The traction control dash light comes on and stays on.
2. The cruise control stopped working.
3. The rear tail lights won't shut off even when the car is off.
How to remove the LED light from next to rear view camera? I know how to change the left side one but the one with the rear view camera looks hard to replace.
View 4 RepliesI went into my 2011 se this morning and noticed all 4 doors had water stains on the headliner in the exact same spots. Not sure how this happened and how it's all 4 doors in the exact same spot. Another weird thing is, I don't have a sunroof.

I have a problem that before was working fine, I don't know if i disabled it or something. But my proximity key when i used to approach the car and press that small button on door handles would open my doors. Now that button don't work. I have a feeling i pressed something.
View 8 RepliesI have a Hyundai Sonata 2011 all was fine until a couple days ago when I lock the doors using the remote I hear it click then in 20 minutes later the lights are blinking on and off. I use the remote to lock the doors again and the same thing happens. I replaced the battery in the remote , I also had the battery in the car checked. What could be triggering the lights to keep blinking ?
View 5 RepliesThe map lights in my 2011 Sonata GLS just started having a problem. They stay on when the switch is set to Door, even when all of the doors are closed. They'll turn off when I turn it to Off and on when I turn it to On. It just started the other day, and the only unusual thing that's happened recently is my brother used my car to jump start his dead battery.

The doors (especially the rear doors) require quite a solid push to close them, or they just come to within an inch or so of closing and don't close all the way.
Want to know if this is a problem with the production of my car in particular, or if the model is just like this.
My sonata 2009 power windows for the rear passenger doors are not working. From the driver's master switch , i can control all 4 power windows with no problem. But if i go to the rear doors (LH and RH) and use the power window switch from there. The windows don't go up or done. There is no sound like the motor is moving. Not very familiar with power windows circuit. But base on the description, by deduction, does it mean the rear power windows switch is broken ? Is there anything that i should check also. Is there any sites that has a diagram on how the power windows are interconnected.

View 12 RepliesPurchased a 2017 santa fe sport limited back in april 2016.
It's been great but since day one the front and rear driver side doors have retained water after rain/snow.
When I open the doors, water just gushes out from the door panel holes along the door, and it's now become an issue because of winter.
The water freezes and door become hard to open, as well as the added weight to the door and condensation that may end up rusting parts...
My dealer took the car for 3 days and took it apart, but said they couldn't find out why water is being retained, and only released when I open the doors...
I'm not too sure what to do, Hyundai Canada denies the issue, and I do have lots of video footage and frozen pictures...
I am interested in putting speakers in the barn doors of the Ex.
