View 2 Replies2015 AWD. How do you fully turn off the traction control?
Seems like i can press the button and it comes back in a minute. I tried holding it down.
Also, the seat belt chime. I take off my belt once I get in a parking lot, and the chime is annoying as hell.
97 olds lss traction control kicks in quite often. turn it off and it doesn't have the problem.
View 5 RepliesEvertime I turn left the brake light, traction control and stability control lights come on and the car starts dinging. Mechanic says it could be front wheel bearings because they are tied to the ABS system??? But I have been seeing alot about wheel speed sensors?
Second, everytime I brake suddenly, a cloud of smoke comes from the front end and there is a burning oil smell. The oil is fine and no leaks. Again mechanic says it could be a cracked CV boot throwing grease?
Lastly everytime I put in reverse or when I lightly put pressure on the brakes when driving I get this noise like a humming (errrrrrr) noise. Its not the grinding/squealing noise you would get when brake pads needs replaced. I only have 60k miles on this.
I'm just under 1,000 miles on my 2015 GS350 F Sport RWD and starting to get on it a bit more now that I feel it's broken in. Tonight I put it Sport + mode and got on it from a 1st gear roll. The traction control light came on and I shifted to second and it still spun a bit more, after shifting to third and fourth I down shifted because I was turning into the neighborhood. Once I down shifted a bit more I got a few quick beeps. My wife and I were like what was that? Was it a warning that it's cold out or that I lost traction or something? When I downshifted it revved up to around 4K rpm but nothing crazy. Just wondering what these beeps were? Seem to come from the cluster area behind the steering wheel. Temps were around 38 degrees at the time.
View 2 RepliesSo a little while ago I had my parking brake, ABS, and traction control lights all come on at the same time. There was no change in performance, but they have been on ever since. I looked in to it online and a bunch of people said this was a common problem with damaged tone rings, so I checked them out, but they were fine (as far as I could tell anyway). So I scanned the vehicle using a buddy of mine's Snap On scanner, and it came up with the following code:
B1342 Faulty Control Module
We tried to check the fault code through Mitchell OnDemand but it said that this code was for a faulty Parking Assist Module. I don't have any kind of Parking Assist system on this vehicle however. I looked around a little more and this seems to be a pretty generic code for brake system faults with Fords. Also, if the control module for the ABS is the same one that handles traction control?
I read about traction control and people having problem in the winter. Here is what the problem. Good tiers will grip when you have snow condition, but what about ice? I don’t care how well your tiers are, how much money you paid, or how highly recommend it, if you on ice and traction control kicks in you are done.
If you get enough speed going through icy snow then no problem, plow right through it, but if in the icy snow traction control kicks in your tiers just stop spinning until it get the grip!, but it can’t because you on ice!
How to turn traction control off? If I’m correct that before 2010 traction control option was optional and now it’s a standard. There few videos on how to turn it off on hybrids, does that mean it will work the same on not hybrid?
2009 Camry SE V6....
I'm kind of up against the clock. I am sure this answer is in a book in the car. But that book looked pretty thick.
My husband just told me that he did not want to take my car to the ball game because he can't stand the cruise control turning off every time it gets even close to a car (yes, I understand what this may mean, but I'm not driving with him and he is a grown man).
Is there a way to disengage the automatic turn off on the safety cruise control feature? He likes to be the one in control I suppose.
In the past two weeks my traction control light came on and stayed on until i turned the car off. This happened randomly about four times. Setup an appointment through BlueLink. The dealership says that since the wheel speed sensors are wireless that something interfered with the signal to the computer. If it happens again they will replace the two passenger wheel speed sensors.
View 9 RepliesIs there a way to turn off Traction Control on a 2012 Prius? It's not useful when trying to break a path thru heavy wet snow. I've looked in the Owners Manual, but so far haven't found a description of deactivating Traction Control.
View 7 RepliesI took my Avalon to get Dyno'd to see if module I foolishly bought actually provided any horsepower gains. Much to my dismay, I could not Dyno the car without the module because the traction control wouldn't allow, seeing as the rear wheels were not moving. Apparently, there is no switch for the traction control, but is there another way to disengage it...?
View 5 RepliesMy daughter just had a new front tire put on her Audi A6 AWD, 2001 car and now her traction control will not turn on. I've been told that being it is all wheel drive that the tires need to have the same wear and that all tire will need to be replaced to prevent damage.

My car has the "trac off" button on the left side of the steering wheel by your knees. When I push the button at a stop (park, neutral or drive) the "trac off" light does not illuminate on the dash. If I press and hold it for three seconds, the VSC off light also does not illuminate on the dash.
I read the manual (page 174) and I'm doing exactly what it says to turn it off but its not working. Whats going on here?
Is there anyway to turn off the traction control on my car? I want to have some fun in the snow, but the car is to damn smart ..
It will only keep me going straight. 2009 AWD LS460 ..
I have been watching youtube videos and reading online about the car. Time and time again I see this "Turn off traction control" comment, so I decided to ask some of you experts to share what you know about it and why one would need to "Turn off traction control" during 0-60 sprint.
View 2 RepliesToday we had the first real snow storm since I got the truck in November, and I noticed myself sliding left to right a bit. I'm thinking it could be traction control, but how to I get to it?
I have a 2004 MM with of the options, including climate control. I did a quick search on MM traction control but found nothing, other than they all have it.
So I'm having a problem, which I'm pretty sure is the switch. The traction control light won't turn off no matter how many times I've pressed the button. The orange light is really annoying now and I need to get it fixed. What should I do?
View 1 RepliesWhy my traction control light stays on? just installed sikky headers. The light will not turn off no matter how long i hold the traction button. Could it be a sensor? No VSC or CEL only traction control light...
View 8 RepliesI have heard that there is a traction control code u can have switched on when your car is started traction control is automatically off and u have to use the switch to turn it on!
View 5 RepliesOk well I am not much for roasting the tires anymore but like to wheel a little, but how in the heck do I turn off the traction and/or stability control? Never done it before.
View 4 RepliesI am the owner of a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS. It has approx 35,700mi to date.
Ive been apart of the forum for quite some time now. Ive been having an issue for a couple of months now with my Traction Control light being stuck on and intermittent flashes of the Brake light (as if parking brake were engaged) and ABS Lights simultaneously.
I'VE ALREADY HAD THE BRAKE SWITCH FAILURE RECALL PERFORMED. When i was having problems shifting and with my cruise control.
This all started this past winter during a bad snow and ice storm we had here in St. Louis, MO. I was on my way to work and the roads were slick with ice and snow. I was traveling no more than 15-20mph on a freeway and as i was approaching a light it suddenly changed to red and i had to slam on my brakes and make a swift right turn in order to avoid hitting anyone in the intersection. Ever since that moment, I've been stuck with these lights on in my dash.
Let me start this by saying I've done a couple of mods to my car. Hids, aftermarket remote start (professionally), aftermarket stereo, amps, new speakers all around, led lights inside, cup holder mod and led tail lights. That's all of my electrical mods.
Ive taken my car to the dealer several times for this problem. They tried hooking my car up to their code machine and they said the car wasn't communicating with machine and it was the first time they've seen something like this before.
They tried pinning the problem on my alarm and stereo. (as they usually do) They said it was a corroded ground. The dealer cleaned that up and said that fixed the problem. In actuality, it didnt. The issue still was there.
Ive had both the alarm and stereo removed to see if this were the cause my issues. NO...the problem still exists.
Here's a pic ....
