I was just wondering if you all experienced a slight vibration of the car when stopped at a stoplight. I experienced a slight shaking of the car when I am at a stoplight especially feel it at the driver seat. I have about 300 miles on the car so far. Not sure if it is just part of the break in period? I only experience it when the car is stopped.
View 48 RepliesI've had my 2013 Hyundai for about a week now and I feel a slight vibration/shaking when the car is stopped and I have my foot on the brake. When I was in the finance office signing all the papers, etc. The finance manager was trying to sell me the free oil changes for 3 years/tire rotations/filter change for $600. He was adamant that if I do not get all my service done by Hyundai dealer all the warranties are voided. I asked him specifically this question at least 3 times as I was appalled at the notion, and time and time again he would say the second you bring it somewhere else for an oil change the warranty is voided. 5 days later I brought the vehicle back to get my sticker, and I asked the guy at service, he said absolutely not. He said it doesn't matter as long as you have the proof/receipts.
View 18 RepliesNot a great definition but have recently noticed an engine surging or shaking feeling when stopped in gear. About 7000KM's and it just started.
Pull up to a stop, foot on brakes and it randomly gives you a sensation the the motor is revving or stalling. You can feel it in both drivers and passenger seat. Haven't been able to see if the changes during this.
Just had it in for service a month ago which shouldn't matter but it seems new since then. Possible flash changed something maybe I don't know.
It's also intermittent so we all know how that works for service/dealership visits. Everything's fine didn't notice it...

It almost feels like its going to stall for a brief second then it picks up and accelerates normal until I'm at a complete stop again. I have the 2016 sport with the standard 2.4L. View 25 RepliesI just picked up a Sport. I've noticed 1,2 quick stutter type thing happening intermittently at highway speed going up a hill. Dealer service probably won't be able to have it happen as it only has happened 3 times in my 400 miles.
View 9 RepliesSo I have just over 14k on my 2015....... I love the truck but have had a few small issues. I had a water leak coming in from the roof that would leak through the grab handle. Nothing major dealer replaced one clearance light seal and they said the windshield needs to be re sealed.
Then I had a god awful irritating squeak in the dash..... It only does it late In the day when it's been hot. The dealer said it was a loose air bag. I have had the truck back a week and it's doing it again.
Those are little issues that will get resolved...... I hate having problems with a brand new vehicle but I understand it happens and that's what warranty is for.
I also reported a bad shake to the dealer...... The truck will shake very violently and have a very loud "diesel" sound. It's very specific at when it occurs. It has only done 4 times in the past 6 weeks including today. The odd thing is the 4 times it has done it has been the same time of day in the exact same spot on the exact same road!!!!
Basically I leave my office sit in some traffic and by the time I get to the parkway it has been35 minutes or so. Only happens in 6th at 60 which is roughly 1,400rpm a slight load due to a small incline and it shakes real bad! The typical "diesel" sound you get when under a load is very pronounced almost to a knock. It will continue to do this as you slowly increase throttle until it down shifts and then goes away. I also caught it doing it and I manually shifted to 5th and it went away.
Because of the rpm at which it happens with slight load only doing it in 6th I lean to a Trans issue and more so a converter problem. It feels like converter shutter. I just don't understand the engine sound.
I gave very descriptive info to the dealer..... Several techs drove it and could not duplicate. I just picked the truck back up last Thursday and the dash squeak is back and the shake happened yesterday and again today. So I am a bit irritated to say the least.
I really hate the fact that I know there is a problem but I also understand if a tech can't duplicate it he can't diagnose it. However today I did get a video of it with my phone so they will know I'm not making this crap up!
Well I've just noticed something quite annoying today... a very slight hissing sound coming from under the rear end of the car. A friend I drove to work this morning even said "what's that noise?".... It reminds me of the sound you'll hear when there is a pinhole in a joint weld, or a clamp is loose? My car only has 2800km on it!
View 8 RepliesI'm wondering if top tier gasoline is better for our car's. I had a 2002 Camry that stopped idling up with the A/C turned on. I was told that the only way to fix was to replace the throttle body after it was sprayed with some kind of cleaner. No adjustments as the idle is set by the car's computer. Don't want to go through that again.
View 22 RepliesI ask this because when on the hwy (60-70mph) you can feel some vibration in your hands. I can let the steering wheel go and it won't move a bit but when hands placed on it you can definitely feel the road, including bumps, and regardless of road conditions. Tires where balanced at 7500mi but it still happens. Regardless of temperature or PSI in the tire.
I thought we had electric/electronic steering and no hydraulics? Maybe unrelated but, when turning in my driveway, very slow, I can hear a slight clicking (maybe rubbing) noise coming from the steering wheel column. Everything else has to be silent to be able to hear it.
My wife and I went out to dinner tonight and were about 2 miles from home and stopped at a stoplight. I had my foot on the brake, and the motor just cut off. Was playing music through the system from my cell phone. Sound did not cut off. I immediately hit the start button and nothing happened, then the second time I hit the start button, it started and everything seemed ok. I don't know of anything I could have done to cause the engine to cut off.
View 7 RepliesI recently inherited this car from a relative, I had it and two other vehicles she owned towed to my house about a week ago. The Sonata has under 1000 miles on it and I found a stack of repair orders from the dealer where she complained that the car wouldn't move or where it had been towed after getting stuck at an intersection while driving.
What is happening is that when I get in the car, with the engine cold, it starts up and drives fine. Then with no pattern or warning, when I stop at an intersection, the transmission acts as if its in neutral. It won't go into any gear, regardless of where I put the shifter. Its got the 2.4L GDI motor. and an automatic trans.
I had to tow it 5 times now. I took it to the local dealer and they found nothing wrong, no codes, and couldn't reproduce the problem. Yet when I went to pic it up, it did it a block from the dealer, I had to push the car to the shoulder at the light. I walked to the dealer, they had a tech come out to the car and by the time he got there the problem was gone. I took it home, and when I got home, I shut it off, then tried starting it and moving it again and nothing, it wouldn't move at all, no forward, no reverse. I find that if I cycle the key, on and off, sometimes the issue will go away instantly. I also never does it cold, only after driving it a bit. It has never done anything wrong while driving at speed, only when coming to a stop and trying to move again.
When it happens, the shifter moves fine, the engine revs and there are no warning lights on the dash, it just acts like its in neutral regardless of what gear the shifter is in. It doesn't creep or pull at all, there's no movement at all when it acts up and I have to drive it to get it to do it, it can idle in the driveway all day and won't do it till I take it down the road and come to a stop and try to start moving again.
Out of frustration I bought a scan tool to see what's up but as long as the scan tool is plugged in, it doesn't act up. I've been driving it for two days without it doing it. Thinking it may be just coincidence, I unplugged the scan tool, took a ride and it did it at the first intersection, I had to shut the car off, plug in the scanner to get the car back home. I called the dealer and was told that this was impossible.
I'm starting to feel like I'm on my own with this one since the dealer seems to not be able to find the issue. I am really having a hard time believing that the dealer can't make it act up but if they're plugging a scan tool in, and driving it, maybe that's why?
Purchased a few days ago a new 2015 Sonata 2.0T Limited with 8-miles on it. Rolled down my driver window, came down automatically, but rolling up it stopped as soon as I let go of the button. On the other hand, passenger side works just fine.

I don't know if this has always happened and I am just noticing now or just all of a sudden occurred but when I was stopped at a red light today and I had my defrost on, (heat fan on) it felt like my gas pedal there was a slight pulsation that I could feel. I also noticed earlier in the summer when the ac is on it seems like the car pulsates as well or the engine just sounds rougher. It seems to go away when the ac or heater fan is on 0. Is this an issue or serious problem? Why this is occurring?
View 2 RepliesI love the car and SCC is one of my favorite features. I've had good experience with the SCC most of the time - if car in front of me is moving and then stops, it reacts well. (Also was pleased to learn I can resume SCC from a stop by just tapping the accelerator, no need to hit resume like the LCD screen implies).
However, the one situation is when I'm going like 55mph, and up ahead there's a car stopped completely. I'll see a thing on the dash that the SCC recognizes there's a car ahead, but it won't hit the breaks till the last minute. Truthfully, I end up hitting the brakes myself in most of these situations.
I've got the longest distance selected (though i've tried it with short following distance too) and my car is a Limited 2.4 GDI.
SCC stops fine if slower car ahead stops. Seems a little risky when car ahead is already stopped (waits till the last second for brakes?).
I've also tried changing the setting for cruise control response from "normal" to "fast"...maybe i'll try "slow?"

I have a severe shaking at 1500 rpm last gear and a slight shaking at idle doesn't shake when I'm off the gas barely shake when I kick it into higher revs but I than hear piston slap.
I replaced the spark plugs and I have brand new U-joints. Last night I checked all the plug wires and they are all getting spark. But my exhaust is skipping like I'm not firing in a couple cylinders
I checked the rear transmission mount (I'm replacing it). And the Engine mounts look ok but I'll check again today
I've read a ton of forums and they all have different answers so I'm really trying to figure out what is wrong before I spend a bunch of money replacing things that won't fix it!
I've read that it can be my tranny, TC, Harmonic Balancer, Steering Stabilizer, pinions, Tie rods, Steering(over all), IAC, Fuel System, IgnitionSystem.
Our 2015 Prius 4 with 8,900 miles just suddenly stopped chirping and turning the lights off upon locking. The courtesy lights also no longer work (the lights worked last night as I approached the car but not tonight. The locking chirp/beep worked 3 hours ago but not now. Also headlights no longer go out after double clicking lock on either of the 2 fob.)
View 13 RepliesFrom day one my 2012 Prius 3 has had a shake that starts at 63mph and goes away at 69mph. Sometimes it's worse then others. I can feel it in the steering wheel and the floor broards. I took it back to the dealer and they said they felt it but couldn't find anything wrong. They actually put new wheels and tires on it! It seemed alright for while but I noticed it again the other day, I don't drive that speed that often. I'm either below or above it but the other day I got caught in traffic doing 65 and noticed it right away. I made a new appt this next week at the dealer again. It's not real bad just more annoying then anything. I searched on here but couldn't find anything.

View 6 RepliesOn bumpy roads, and on most highways, there is a slight humming/rattling noise to the bottom left hand side of the steering wheel. Its really only audible when there's no music on, which happens to be how I like to drive. I've tried pushing on some of the panels when i hear it, to see if it dampens the noise, but no leads so far.

View 14 RepliesWhen I'm driving and come to a stop for at least two seconds, I hear a slight click/tap noise coming from the rear of the vehicle. Then as soon as I let off the brake, I hear the noise again. I can only hear it with the radio off, and I cannot seem to replicate it when my AC is running. I have Eco mode enabled too. I have no engine/warning lights on my dash, and have no reason to believe my vehicle has an issue; just simply trying to find out what the noise is.
