Sonata I45 (LF 2015+) :: How To Get Album Artwork On Bluetooth Streaming
Apr 25, 2016
I've tried about 5 different phones with different OSes, and none of them show album artwork.

View 1 RepliesI have the Premium 8 stereo in my '13 Tig. SE and when streaming music via Bluetooth on my iPhone 5S, the album art does not display on the head unit. It does not make a difference whether it is iHeart Radio, Pandora, iTunes Radio, Tune in Radio or straight off the iPhone 5 hard drive. The album art displays just fine when I am listening to HD radio.
View 3 RepliesJust upgraded from an 07 NF to a 2015 LF (Canadian GL with the 5" stereo) and I'm having an issue with bluetooth audio streaming. Music and audio in general sounds distorted/staticky especially in the higher frequency (kind of sound like a tweeter is blown but audio is fine using other sources). I have tried 3 different devices and same issue with all. Adjusting the eq and volumes on the phones/head unit does not work. Never had this issue in the 07 which had a JVC Bluetooth head unit. My brother also just got the same car and is having the exact same issue. Is this a common problem and if so is there a fix?
View 19 RepliesGot the 2015 Sonata Limited 2.4 a few weeks back. One issue that I have encountered is that when I receive a phone call while driving I answer the call but neither me or the other person can hear the audio. I have to go to the phone screen- select the option to switch to private and then switch back to hands-free and then it works.
When I place calls it works as it should- it only does this when I receive a call.
I played around with the audio system (Golf R with Nav) and it would not show any media even though the phone was paired and I was able to make the calls. Pandora would not play through the speakers either (BT streaming enabled). A sales guy with an IPhone had no problems - as soon as he would hit 'Play' in iTunes, the music streamed just fine.

Experienced low volume on car while streaming music thru Bluetooth via your smart phone. I usually like to listen to my music at a moderate loud setting, volume cranked up between 35-40 depending on the type of music. Apparently even at volume set between 35-40 it still sound very low, but suddenly volume goes up when I received a txt message or email on my phone. I've tried messing with all the settings on the car and my phone. Even restore default settings in my car and phone. Problem still there.
car: GOLF TDI '10 with premium radio unit *(but not the one with navigation or anything). I had my phone plugged in to charge up, and got a call, so my bluetooth kicked in and i started the conversation, but during my conversation i disconnected the phone from the charger, and all of a sudden music starts playing through my speakers all while i'm having a conversation. First i thought it was the other person's music on the background or something, but it was me, i had to stop the music on my iphone. After conversation ended, music kicked back in automatically from my iphone again.
View 4 RepliesI am a new member and the happy owner of a prius series 3 2009 base model no satnav ...amazing vehicle should have bought one years ago.....i can use the mobile via bluetooth...but can't import my phonebook from the phone...so i manually enter numbers and names....
View 4 RepliesNoticed that bluetooth audio (music) streaming from my iPhone cuts out completely when I enter an underground parkade. Even if the iPhone is connected with the cable.
View 2 RepliesI started using the Bluetooth connection to stream pandora over using entune lately because entune seems to take forever to start up and I just start pandora with Siri and turn to the Bluetooth input on my head unit. This worked good for a few weeks and now all the sudden it doesn't have sound.. The screen shows what song is playing and I can use my steering wheel controls to skip songs and it shows the progress bar of the song duration progressing but no sound? I have not tried it thru the entune app since this started happening so I am not sure if it works that way recently(I'm usually drivig and don't want to fumble around turning on hotspot to connect to entune).
View 5 RepliesSo I currently have a 2006 Lexus GS430 and was wondering if the 2007 model gs350 came equipped with streaming music through bluetooth?
View 14 RepliesI'm trying to figure out if I'm dealing with an isolated situation...my iPhone 4's BT music streaming tends to have a slow-down effect whenever I start using the phone. It doesn't have to be a million apps running in the background for it to slow down (as if someone just turned off the turntable while the LP was playing), it could be caused by a simple accessing of the phone main screen... My prior car (Acura TL-Type S '07) worked flawlessly with my iPhone 3GS, so not sure if it's the iPhone 4 or my Prius V...
View 1 RepliesI just started using Spotify, and would like to stream music from its app on my mobile phone (iPhone 6) in my 2011 Prius.
I plugged the phone into the USB jack in the center well, and found this seems to work fine. However, it would be a little easier if I could do the streaming via bluetooth with no wire connection.
When I start the car, in a few seconds I see a message that the car is connected to the iPhone as a hands-free phone. If I press the "Audio" button at the lower left of the dash screen, the "BT" tab is grayed out and I can't select it.
I've had so many issues with audio dropping out from phone calls and streaming that I've almost thrown my phone at the NAV screen in frustration.
Background: In the 7 months since I bought my car new (2013 GS F-Sport) I have had 2 Droid Maxx's, 1 Droid Turbo and am currently on a Samsung Note 4. I've gone through hard resets of my phones, deleting the phone from the car, changing apps in use, trying to use the car with after a reset and removing most stock apps. I've also mostly disabled the text message and email options as it doesn't work consistently, and I don't need people in my car to see when I get texts.
Each of the phones has has issues staying connected to the car. About 30 seconds after dropping the car will register the loss of the bluetooth connection. The worst part is I can go hours without a problem, then I'll get 1, or I'll get a problem every 4 minutes until it suddenly stops.
I've called Lexus a three times are had a few different answers. At first they told me to always drive with the wifi disabled and that should fix my problem. Then they said to have the dealership check my firmware. The dealership said my firmware dated 2012 is the most up to date (sounds like a load of BS to me). Most recently, they said there is an error in Android 4.2's kernel that screws up bluetooth. Now all of my phones have been on Android 4.4.x since I bought the car, and Lexus said they aren't aware of any issues with 4.3 or 4.4.
My coworker follows the same phone upgrade path as me (Maxx, Turbo and Note4), and he has never had a dropout issue on his 2014 X5, so the kernel issue doesn't seem to hold water.
Lexus made it sound like this is a WIDE spread problem, but not one they need to fix. Also what firmware version are you running in your 2013 GS?
Have issues with their Bluetooth stereo. It works perfect with calls, but any time you stream music it pops and clicks and sounds terrible. This however does not happen with other phones!!!
View 19 RepliesIt had worked fine until yesterday. Now there is very faint sound (cannot hear it at all without turning the volume way up and even then, it is very faint). Bluetooth phone works fine as does radio.
I have deleted and reinstalled the Bluetooth profiles from both the phone and car with no results. Interestingly it works fine with my ipad.
I switched from an Android phone to a iPhone 4 and after the switch I noticed that sometimes the bluetooth A2DP audio goes out in the middle of playing. The bluetooth does not drop connection or lose pairing, but there just no sound.
I can tap the "play" icon on the Nav touch screen and the sound comes back for a minute or so and goes out again repeatedly. If I don't do anything and just wait, after a minute or two the sound spontaneously returns and usually keeps going.
At first I though it was a problem with the podcast app I was using, but then I noticed the exact same behavior with playing music with the built-in native iPod app.
I have a problem with using bluetooth to stream music from my HTC One to the car stereo system. The music itself streams fine with no problem, but the titles of the songs are sometimes off or laggy or don't update as the songs cycle through the shuffle.
View 4 RepliesI thought I'd finally move into the 21st century and jump on the mp3/bluetooth streaming wagon. Was always the traditional CD-album guy and after this, I may need to go back.
Problem is, I can't change track with the radio or steering wheel controls. Also, unlike the phone which automatically is available for use after the auto-connection happens via the car's controls, I have to manually launch the player on my phone then push play on it. Once done, music plays from the BT Audio system and when that track is complete, moves on automatically to the next one. The control of pausing, playing, skipping tracks does not work via the car (steering and audio controller) and is ONLY possible from the phone which defeats the purpose of a hands-free driving experience.
I'm using a Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Android v4.3 and I've tried both Google Play Music and the native "Music" player on the device, with no luck. I have the standard Display Audio Controller (no-NAV).
I just got a new 2015 toyota camry with 9k miles tonight! i have the basic entune setup without the apps library thing. i noticed while i was playing lindsey sterling during my drive home that the album covers are not showing up. instead, the device icon displays on usb, bluetooth, and fm radio. The album cover box is checked on the settings screens so it is enabled. disabling and then enabling it doesn't work.
I looked through the manual and nothing seems to indicate of a way to get the album cover to really show up. i have all my music files properly tagged and the album covers came up just fine on my pioneer touchscreen radio installed in my recently sold 2001 infiniti qx4. Do I have to do a re-tag of my files to get the album covers to work or is there another workaround to this?
With the new car, only on audio Bluetooth streaming of my downloaded tunes, I'm experiencing a momentary "skip" of sound (less than a second but still annoying) occurring 0-2 times per song. My phone is a 9 mos. old Samsung Note 4.
I guess I can live with it, and suspect it's more the phone than the car to blame. But, if it's the car audio, especially with ML system, I would have expected better.
