How do I turn up volume on this very important safety feature that i can barely hear. It's ridiculously low and the dumb ding dong I'm home nav notification blows my ears away.
View 21 RepliesI have been using ACC a lot during my daily commute, it's really an effortless way to drive the car on a daily basis.
One of the issues I have been running into with it is that sometimes when the car in front (recognized by radar) accelerates and immediately decelerates to a quick stop my Sonata's ACC does not react and apply the brakes fast enough. The car will basically apply some braking power (~50%) while very quickly approaching the car in front, all the while triggering the rapid beeping of the Collision Detection system. Everytime this happens I have always had to manually intervene and apply the necessary braking power to stop short of hitting the car in front. This is pretty ridiculous to me since if the car KNOWS that it will crash without additional braking, and has the ability to apply the brakes, why doesn't it do so properly?
On my limited sometimes when I am driving randomly and a car is in front of me but not far up my collision warning signal goes off.
It's only happened about 4-5 times and I am not sure what sets it off or how it even really works?
Have any of you noticed the collision warning popping up on the dash while driving? The first couple of times I missed what was popping up since I was busy driving and not getting into a collision. The last time, however, I did notice. A car was making a right turn up ahead and had almost stopped in the lane..
View 17 RepliesAbout two months after I lowered my TCH I started getting a warning that my Pre-Collision System was malfunctioning.
I brought it into the dealer to have them investigate the issue, and after having my car for three days they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the system, and it's probably because I modified the ride height of my car.
The question that immediately came to mind was, why did it take two months for the error message to pop up? Why not right away? They didn't have an answer and just said, "If it's modified we can't do any warranty work, and can't say for sure what's causing the issue."
So I've adjusted the ride height back to stock and now I just need to take it back to the dealer to have them look at it again. If it really is the modified ride height, can i re-calibrate the sensors?
Every time I start the car and turn on the radio, enforum, etc. the volume is always at 22 which is LOUD. I'd rather have it start where I was before or set it 8 or 9. I've gone through the settings and looked through the manual, but don't see a way to set the volume.
View 9 RepliesI recently picked up my 2015 GTI DSC Autobahn White and can max out the volume when using Bluetooth music streaming and the volume at the max level is at a substantially lower level than if I was using the radio or Sirius XM. Even at max level, it just doesn't seem that loud. I'm coming from an 2013 Audi Allroad and never noticed a big difference in volume levels when using Bluetooth music streaming. I haven't had a chance to test the volume when using the MDI cable since I'm waiting for the appropriate adapter for my iPhone 6. Should there be a big difference in audio levels with Bluetooth music streaming? Is there a setting that I need to adjust?
View 5 RepliesThe volume control on my stereo stopped working today. The radio turns on, but the volume controls do not increase/decrease the volume. It is stuck at whatever volume it was at before this problem started. When I turn the volume knob, I see the volume level numbers increasing and decreasing in the upper right corner of the touchscreen, but obviously the volume stays put.
2013 Sonata Limited 2.0T
I just purchased a 2009 Sonata (82,000) miles for my daughter to drive. Didn't notice this issue during the test drive, but discovered it shortly after leaving the dealership.
The radio will randomly adjust the volume to 0. If I attempt to raise the volume it immediate mutes it again, and no other radio controls will work. Turning off the radio and turning it back on seems to fix it for about 5 minutes and then it happens again.
Also, any use of the steering wheel audio controls will trigger this behavior, and the steering wheel control buttons themselves just seem to do random things.
I'm annoyed at myself for not noticing this during the test drive, and phoned the dealer who just sold me the car but naturally he just said, gee, that stinks...or in so many words.
Does this seem like the head unit? The steering wheel controls? Something I can fix? I did try pulling the fuse but that seemed not to work. Also turned off the AVC. A bit of a bummer after only owning the thing for an hour...
I have had my Sonata for a few years now and i am geting some scratches on the steering wheel, volume knobs and near the cup holders. What I can do to cover them up and or replace.

View 11 RepliesI have the stock radio in my sonata and the radio volume will randomly decrease until its at zero. When I attempt to turn the volume back up it will continue to go back down. It does this regardless of weather the automatic volume control is on or off. From time to time none of the buttons on the dash for the radio will work either. The volume controls on the steering wheel are also messed up. The volume up button mutes the radio, the volume down increases the volume and the mute button changes the mode. I tried pulling the fuse to reset everything and that didn't fix it.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2012 GLS and on the way to work this evening I noticed that the volume/channel buttons on the steering wheel for the radio will not work. The mode button still works properly, so I attempted to change the radio station on the radio itself to no avail. No buttons other than the volume work on the radio as well.
View 11 RepliesI have a sonata 2009 automatic, I bought it last week and I am really happy with it, but I have one doubt.
When I am driving down hill, if I put the gear in R mode and does not use brake, the car will roll down the hill, vise verse I am driving up hill (car stopped, gear on D, no brake used) the car will roll down.
I know from previous experience that automatic cars should stand still / move forward if in D/ move backward if in R even if I am driving downhill / uphill.
is that mean there is a problem in my gear?

My Driver Seat Does not move Forward any more. It will go back, up & Down Just not Forward.
Is there a Seat Reset Switch somewhere I don't know about ? How do I troubleshoot this?
For years my wife has complained about the front passenger seat in my 06 Sonata. She says the seat bottom feels like it is tipped forward and too low.
Have you found a remedy for this?
My sonata 3.3 dies when switching from forward to reverse and vice versa. Suspecting the fuel pressure regulator. Have seen conflicting sites saying its on the firewall and some saying in-tank. What else may be causing this.

In the drivers seat, when I lean forward, the seat makes a creaking noise. Not when I go backward and rest, but when I come forward. I just got this problem and I've barely put more than 7,000 miles on it
View 29 RepliesI am able to operate my power drivers seat in all position except for reverse. My wife was the last one to drive and the seat is stuck in almost the full forward position. I can move the seat forward but not in reverse.
I've already looked under the seat for blockages along the railing and didn't see anything. I would try to remove the seat, but its positioned too far forward to access where I think the bolts would be. I did notice one unconnected wiring harness coming up from the floor under the seat, but it looks like it doesn't go to anything. Maybe its for models with heated seats or something because I don't have heated seats. My car by the way is a 2009 sonata GLS.
My parents have a 2010 Hyundai Sonata. About a month ago my mom noticed that when she starts to brake, the car stops fine but then it stops again almost, with a loud thunk. The best way to describe it is that you press down the brake, the car stops, then a few seconds later the car feels like it is lunging forward and stopping again with a sudden thump. (Although I don't think it really actually moves at all).
