So the past week I've noticed that on occasion my dash lights will get really dim then randomly come back to full on (to where I have it set at.). Is this normal?
View 6 RepliesI am having issues with 2015 sonata sport. My car alarm has been going off randomly as well as lights flashing/beeping as if I was pushing lock button on key fob. I am not pushing any buttons and sometimes it will happen when The key fob is in my hand and I know I'm not pressing any buttons. When it does happen the little red light will flash on the key fob. I've tried using other key fob and have same issues with both. Also I have had to change the battery in both key fobs about 8 times thus far and I've only had the car a little over a year.
It does not happen all the time and I know if I take it in, my luck the car wont do it and they will tell me they don't see anything wrong. Sometimes the buttons wont work to unlock/lock the car and after a few minutes the car will beep and lights flash on their own and I will be able to then lock/unlock car again. This is getting very frustrating and it has become an annoyance for me and I'm sure my neighbors as well. I even will have people I work with come in and tell me my alarm is going off during my work shift.
Having issue with the sonata 2006 as regards to headlight dimming for a second or two then returning to full power. Also at the same time all the internal light dim down then return and the heater slow right down and then returns to full power. Its dangerous when traveling at night.
View 7 RepliesFor 8 or 9 months now the dash lights and headlights on my 2001Chevy Tracker are dimming (more like flickering but they don't go completely out). It is not the alternator - it has been checked. For a period of 4 orso months in between the beginning of this and now - the dimming stopped and now it's back. The only thing I can correlate to the dimming stopping was I had to have my car jumped because I left the headlights on and the dimming seemed to stop for the long period of time.

View 2 RepliesI have a 2007 Taurus and for some odd reason I get a message saying to check the brake system. Its accompanied by dimming dash lights and symptoms of a bad alternator. I'm suspecting the battery (its from 2009). Sometimes the issue goes away and when I drive and get the car above 1300 rpm it will go away until the next stop light/sign.

View 31 RepliesMy wife has a 2006 Sonata and it ran great up until about a month ago, she started noticing when she hits the brakes and sometimes when she hits the gas the a/c blower motor would stop blowing for a second and all the lights would dim. So i drove the car for a day and she was right. the blower motor shuts off and the lights dim for roughly 1 second during breaking then it all works fine again.
What this could be? the car has no check engine light on or anything. I was hoping this is a common thing with a known fix.
My 2015 2.4L Hyundai Sonata randomly started overheating today. The coolant tank is full and it never did this before. The temperature gauge goes up and the information display says car has overheated.
View 9 RepliesRecently a strange problem has started occurring with my car's radio (I've had the car for about 3 weeks). I usually listen to SiriusXM. When I start the car, it'll stay on SiriusXM for about 5 seconds or so and then sometimes it will randomly switch to either AM or FM radio on its own and I have to manually switch it back. I don't think it's a loss of signal issue as the radio will play SiriusXM just fine before it jumps to another band.

To begin, she has 95,000mi, an although that's about a year old, a duralast gold battery about the same age, and 13.8 volts at idle on the meter at the battery. The problem, over the past couple of weeks, I'll start it and drive off as normal, an the thing wants to stall for about two seconds. After that, no problem whatsoever. One time, it actually did stall on me, and everything went dead for a couple of minutes, no juice whatsoever; noticed that even the clock in the radio read 12:00. After a few minutes, I tried to turn the key again, and it started right up. This a.m., I went to start the van, and it initially would not turn over. The started motor turned but in a weak manor. At that point we went completely dead again, no electricity whatsoever.
The strangest thing is what happened next, I pulled the hood latch release as I was about to investigate and noticed the guages on the dash move when I did, power was back. The van then started but barely, and when it did it stumbled for a few seconds before driving off without so much as a hiccup the rest of the day. The only other possibly related symptom would be a slight rough idle combined with a just noticeable dimming of the dash lights in the dark at idle. Also, I should mention that I have checked the battery terminals and they are tight and clean, the van is in excellent shape mechanically, averaging 20mpg combined, smooth acceleration, no leaks, "using oil", white or black smoke, etc. Plugs, cap, rotor, and pcv are recent. Egr and maf are both clear.
On my limited sometimes when I am driving randomly and a car is in front of me but not far up my collision warning signal goes off.
It's only happened about 4-5 times and I am not sure what sets it off or how it even really works?
As I am driving the steering wheel will randomly lock for about 2 seconds. It has happened while changing lanes on the highway, also happening while making turns in intersections. Took it in to the dealer, all they did was clear the code and give it back to me. I have notified Hyundai Customer Care and they are supposed to contact me but right now the car is unsafe to drive.

View 12 RepliesRecently Ive been having issues with my prius 2008 , it all started when I was driving back home and 3 lights came up randomly. They were the VSC, (!), ! With triangle. I parked the car and turned it off and turned it back on the engine would not start and the 3 lights from before came up in addition to the check engine light, the abs, the emergancy brake and anti skid, and then the red car with ! Came up on the navigation screen. I had to unplug the startup battery and pluged it back in. it started and was fine for about a day. Cant run any tests until it happens again. We had the 12V battery checked and it is just fine.
View 10 RepliesI have a 2015 Sonata 2.0T limited, and there is a noise coming from the back, driver's side, after shutting off the motor. I've taken it in 3 times for this, and each time they say nothing is wrong; but, I've driven a lot of cars and trucks, and I've never heard a noise like this.
I'm guessing it's some kind of gas tank related valve that's closing, but it's making a very loud noise each time.
I have a rattle in the dash of my 2015 Sonata Limited. Dealer had the car for three days and replaced a part in the steering column that was supposed to solve the problem unfortunately it did not. I am reluctant to bring the car back to have the dash torn apart again. Funny thing about the rattle it appears to lessen as the car warms up.

View 17 RepliesSo just for a little bit of a background, I have an Imola 20th with 165k miles on it lowered on B&G's, stage II+ unitronic w/ Franken turbo setup.
I've been running into some issues with the ride as of late, well, more than usual, and I can't seem to figure any of it out. First, the car kept overheating even when it wasn't warm outside after driving for only about 10-15mins. Took it to the shop, and they said that the fan & fan motor died on me and so they replaced that and the blower motor resistor, but then a month later I was back at the shop getting the fan replaced again. A month later, I was at another shop getting the fan switched, and not even two months later I was back at the original shop having the fan swapped out yet again because the previous one died. It's been a couple weeks now since the last fan being switched out and I'm starting to see some overheating issues yet again when the A/C isn't turned on and blasting. That's problem number 1.
Problem 2 would be all of the dash lights that randomly keep coming up; the traction control and ABS lights have been on for about three months now. Just last week the dash light for the airbag came on, and then today the light stays on for the door saying that it's open but the interior lights don't stay on like what's typical seen when the door is open. Also, every now and then when I start the car up the brake light will flash/beep a couple times then stay lit the whole time I'm driving around, but when I turn the car off then turn it back on again the brake light isn't lit...the airbag, ABS, traction, and door lights are still lit. I plugged a reader up to it, and no codes are showing and everything says it's checked out. Not to mention, the car has been idling real funny lately, usually sitting at 800rpm's then randomly dropped to around 400 to where the car almost dies off then it just shoots right back up.
I have a 2002 Ford Explorer. For about the last year some of the dash lights have been turning on and off randomly and intermittently. The three lights are the check engine, the airbag and less frequently, the check gauge light. It seems like there's some connection between the lights because often when one comes on so does another and often one will turn off, but immediately another will turn on. My mechanic (not a Ford dealer) tried to fix the check engine light by diagnosing and fixing the indicated codes, but a day later the light came back on. It stayed on for a week, then one morning it stayed off, but the airbag light came on. Is there some electronic (or other) component that links these three lights and could be causing this situation?
