I've noticed lately that I wish the lights on the temperature control display and the clock were a brighter during the day. Especially when the Sun shines on them and they get washed out. I've tried increasing the display brightness, but it doesn't really seem to work. Could I just have a dim display?
View 2 RepliesMy wife's Elentra has some center console lights out. A radio button (or two) is not lit and heat control button(s) as well. I don't remember specifics.. I'm going to check the fuse box when I get to it, but wanted to check here first. It seems like it's somewhat common problem. Fuse N25 is mentioned often.
Everything else is functioning, just the lights are out. It seems strange though that not entire section of controls is out, but part of one (radio) and part of other (heat). Does this sound like a fuse or maybe it's the bulbs. Or combination?
I have an 09 SE, In the center area under the radio I had a access card slide over the open bottom door into the abyss where I lost a tire gauge and who knows what else lurks in there. It was supposed to go in the top open area but the person just put it on the open door and it slid back and fell.
How to remove the side panels that run from the console in the center to under the dash? I need to access the area under the dash below the 2 storage areas.
I am assuming you take the screws out on the side and possibly pop the shift indicator panel out and lift the console off? Seems a little overkill unless there is an easier way. I really don't want to experiment and break anything.
My 2004 v8 has been in the shop 6 times for the same air conditioning problem. My local VW dealership removed much of the center console and dash at the last visit for no reason. It ended up not being the issue. Now many of the lights do not work. This includes the fog light button, valet, vent control rocker switches, side mirror control, seat heater, transmission gear select, rear heated seat controls and vent control rockers. The lights for the dimmer switch and rear screen do not work as well. Now my tiptronic is not working and things seem to be deteriorating with a ground fault workshop error. I am really worried that they have messed things up. They claim it is because the light switch is bad. They also replaced all of the witches to no avail.
View 9 RepliesI replaced the factory head unit with a aftermarket radio. While making adjustments my battery died, I jumped my battery and now I don't have any dash lights. I found 3 blown fuses that I have replaced, however the only lights that don't work is the dash lights. I replaced the headlight switch and the dash lights are still not working?
View 6 RepliesBoth front seat heaters are not working on my 2009 Avalon XLS. The center console lights do not illuminate. I presume it's not the fuse because according to the owners manual the 7.5A fuse also controls dash light, power outlet and flashers and they all work. Could it be another fuse, or something else? I can use a voltmeter

View 5 RepliesI have my car for about a month now and I noticed that the front park lights are not working. The turn signal bulb has 2 filaments and 2 contacts (1157 bulbs) and yet the only ones that light up are those for the turn signals. No park lights when the switch is in park position or headlights on position.
View 10 RepliesI am having issues with 2015 sonata sport. My car alarm has been going off randomly as well as lights flashing/beeping as if I was pushing lock button on key fob. I am not pushing any buttons and sometimes it will happen when The key fob is in my hand and I know I'm not pressing any buttons. When it does happen the little red light will flash on the key fob. I've tried using other key fob and have same issues with both. Also I have had to change the battery in both key fobs about 8 times thus far and I've only had the car a little over a year.
It does not happen all the time and I know if I take it in, my luck the car wont do it and they will tell me they don't see anything wrong. Sometimes the buttons wont work to unlock/lock the car and after a few minutes the car will beep and lights flash on their own and I will be able to then lock/unlock car again. This is getting very frustrating and it has become an annoyance for me and I'm sure my neighbors as well. I even will have people I work with come in and tell me my alarm is going off during my work shift.
So the past week I've noticed that on occasion my dash lights will get really dim then randomly come back to full on (to where I have it set at.). Is this normal?

The top half of my center console will not close and it appears a piece of metal broke loose from the locking mechanism. (See photos) ....
I have two questions. Is this one of those wear and tear items not covered under the warranty? (I have 13 months left on the OEM warranty). If it is not covered, do I have to replace the whole console or is there a separate part I can buy to fix it myself.
My wife spilled some cola from the cup holders in the center console and it got into the Hi/Low range rotary switch and the stability control button. Now the button and switch are all sticky and barely work. Looking for instructions on how to take the center console apart so I can get to those switches and wash them out with alcohol or something to get them working again...

I would like to buy a V to deliver mail. I would need to remove the center console so I can sit in the middle. I did this in my 05. Can it be done fairly easily and will the mode switch come out of the console for mounting elsewhere, like under the dash or seat?
