The wife bought a limited edition 2016 Tucson, and when you lock the doors it beeps instead of honks. I did some digging and found the horn that is responsible for the door lock notification but does the limited sonata's have the beep? If they do I would love to change it out.
View 12 RepliesMy Alarm seems to be having an issue recently. When I hit the remote the doors lock but the lights do not flash and the beep is gone. When I hit the remote to unlock, the lights flash. Last Night I opened all the doors hood/trunk and shut everything and the lights flashed and it beeped. Since I have no door indicator lights I was wondering if there is a sensor where it thinks the hood is open possibly? I am at 57k so I am still under warranty. I had a Blazer years back when the alarm started acting up, they had to replace the computer one time and I think the battery the second time. But I don't think it is that. I did have some work done recently to put a blower motor and Brake light switch in. I did see reference in another thread from 2 years ago about the alarm for a different model car. 2009 Sonata 3.3 ....

View 18 RepliesMy first question is, if it's possible to switch the beep-sound on, when locking or unlocking my doors by the remote. I think in the US its common to hear a sound when locking. Here in Austria it's forbidden (noice level), but I want to have that sound. Is it possible to engage it? Or is there something missing in my 2002 Camry?

Keyless entry. it will not lock but pressing the black nubs or via either set keys. It some times beeps or does nothing.
I verified all doors are closed and there is no door open light on the dash. Every time I exit the car the car gives 3 beeps and the key light on the dash flashes.
Winter is coming and I often leave the car running in the morning when stopping a few minutes to drop off the kids, etc. (otherwise it all fogs up and I need to wait a few minutes again before I can leave).
Issue is, when the santa fe engine is running, if I close the door, the car beeps for like 5 seconds, every time I close a door. (Close my door, beepppp, get the kid, beeeeeepppppp, get the bag, beeeepppppppppp) and then, I cant lock the doors so I have to leave the car unlocked after it has beeped 3x 5 seconds to alert anyone around that the doors are unlocked and that it's still running.
Hyundai is supposed to install my remote starter next week, which at least will fix the issue of being unable to leave the car running with the doors locked, but the beeping all the time is REALLY ANNOYING. I KNOW THAT MY CAR IS STILL RUNNING. Dealer is telling me they cant disable the beep.
Is there a way to get the vehicle to honk or beep when locking the car with the remote? I tried single click, double click, and triple click on the lock button and the lights flight, but no audible feedback. Is this really not an option? I checked my horn, it works.
View 24 RepliesRecently, my car (2015 Sonata GLS) has been making a long beep after shutting off the engine, similar to the beep you get if you exit the car and leave the smart key inside. The beep is outside the car, not inside. The beep happens immediately upon hitting the ignition button, before I even have a chance to open the door. There is no indication of anything on the LCD screen.
This is really annoying, especially when it happens in my driveway late at night because I'm sure the neighbors can hear that 5 second-long beep. What it means?
I only have one thing I want to change on our new GTI (which happens to be the ONLY thing I miss from our A3).
When we locked the A3, it gave a nice, short, clean, electronic "beep." However, locking the GTi generates a mildly annoying, and just-a-bit-too-loud "honk."
Is there any way to make the GTI "beep?" Is it as simple as coding, or does it require an add on part to actually make that noise?
I have a 2015 sonata sport and every time I close my trunk it makes a long beep sound and then goes off. The sound is almost like if you close the car door and leave the keys in the car, almost like a warning sound.

I know it is possible for the doors to lock while the engine is running as my car came with an aftermarket (pro start) remote starter. It will actually lock the door when it starts the engine, which is inherently useless as my car is always locked when I start it (from the the house) before I get dressed to go outside in cold weatheras well as I am not worried about someone driving away in it without the key to start.
In my old car (mazda) I could just keep the FOB in my pocket and lock the doors either manually or by the FOB when I got out. My Sonata wont even lock by the the FOB which is really frustrating because obviously in that case I am leaving the car running and want to lock the doors, IE: to warm up the car. I can understand why the door locks are disabled with the key in to prevent lockouts but if you need to warm up your car or Like me need to lock it while I am gone for less than a min.
I have a 2015 Somata ECO, while backing out of the drive the mailman came so I stopped (car running) closed the door went got the mail returned to the car and the doors automatically locked. This is not the first time this has happened, lucky I was at home and went inside to get the other key. What did I do wrong or how can i prevent this from happening again?

I'm pretty sure it can be done with the VAG-COM........ but I don't have one. Is there a way to just unplug the unit that produces the noise.
Recently purchased a new 2012 Corolla S and when hitting the lock button and unlock button not only does the car chip but the horn honks. I think this sucks. How can I stop that from happening.

View 5 RepliesI have a 2011 Santa Fe. I had to take it in for service in April because the shift lock was not acting correctly. Since I have gotten it back, it will not honk when I press the remote button twice. It did before the service was performed. The lights flash properly and the doors are locked, but I still want it to honk sometimes. Is there something that was turned off that I can turn back on?
View 8 RepliesLock/unlock button on door handle failed? Over the past couple of weeks mine has iced up a couple of times. I'm pretty sure water is getting behind the button and freezing. Now it seems like the button only works intermittently, and it definitely has a spongy feel to it when you press it. Off to the dealer I guess. Though if it's because of ice it's probably going to fail every year.....

After going through a car wash my Prius has started locking all doors when I start the car and unlocking driver's and passenger front doors when I turn it off. Kind of wondering how this could happen, but since I like it that way I don't really want to change it back. Is there a way to toggle this and can I change it so that rear doors and hatchback unlock also when I turn the car off?
