My radiator fan stays on after car is off... forever. Pull fuses and it does turn off but comes right back on when replaced.

View 3 RepliesI have a 08 2.0 CRDi and my radiator fan runs constantly on high as soon as the key is turned on and stays on high until I turn the key off. Have found the fan controller and wondered if that might be faulty but don't wont to replace it for nothing. also where is the temp switch is on the engine or radiator?
View 12 RepliesI smelled antifreeze when walking by my fiances Sonata, so I popped the hood and saw there was a small leak from the upper radiator hose, where it meets the thermostat housing. I adjusted the stock clamp, but the leak was much worse.
I swapped it out for new clamp that you can tighten, and all is well again. But, what I noticed when I had it off was that the metal neck of the housing was really corroded. Only 15,000 on the car, so I was surprised to see that the corrosion on the metal had already built up causing the leak (pushing the hose away from the housing). I scraped and scuffed to get it clean again, but just wanted to give you all the heads up in case you notice a leak in the same area. The antifreeze tested good and is really clean.
I have a Hyundai Sonata 2006. About a month and a half ago, I got in an accident and had to have the very front of the car repaired (they replaced the radiator, a/c unit, hood and a few other smaller things). The receipt that lists everything out in detail shows that the antifreeze/coolant was filled.
Fast forward to yesterday, and I'm getting an oil change. I also asked them to check out the front tire on the driver's side, as it seemed to have a slow leak. The woman at the counter wrote down to check the front left tire. A couple hours later, the guy calls me up and tells me that they found a nail in the right tire and will patch it up but nothing in the left. He also says that I am low on coolant and that he highly recommends I get the radiator flushed. Of course I told him not to do it since the radiator was just installed last month (well within the 90 day warranty).
I got the car home, checked the coolant level, and sure enough, it was way below the L. I haven't noticed any fluid under the car in parking spots or the driveway. I figured I would call up the place that did the repair work on Tuesday (it being a holiday weekend and they were already closed) and ask them about it. The receipt does say that it is an aftermarket part, but it wouldn't need to be flushed already, right?
Around 1 AM this morning, I heard a loud bang. It was my driver's side tire. What are the odds that the mechanic thinks that driver's side is right and the receptionist thinks that it is left? Do you think that it is more likely the patch failed or that the unpatched tire burst? Who should I call first on Tuesday: the mechanics that did the repairs about the radiator, or the mechanics that did the oil change/patch job?
i have a 2006 sonata v6 3.3 couple off days water in my radiator started to finish every morning I have to refill it again I haven't noticed any leaking near the engine or under the vehicle but when i drive around i noticed a steam is coming out of my air vent though the air condition is off and the temperatures of the engine rises when i tried to open the radiator cap it was already empty i checked around inside the car i have found the floor mat in the passenger side is wet
View 1 RepliesI have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata 2.4 and for some reason... it seems quite random... my ABS and ESC lights come on on the dashboard. I guess either there is an electrical problem or for some reason my ABS and ESC intermittently turn themselves off. After the lights come on, the ESC button has no effect. Usually, when I turn my car off and turn it back on, the lights turn off.
View 15 RepliesI have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS V6 with about 135K miles. The key will insert fully into the ignition, but will not turn. It will remove easily as well. Just not turn. I am unable to start. I have sprayed lock lubricant with graphite into the slot with no success.
Oddly, there is slight pressure on the steering wheel, just like you parked it with the wheels turned all the way to one side. However, the wheels are straight as the car sits in the garage. But, there is still slight pressure on the steering wheel. I can rock (move) the steering wheel back and forth, and relieve the pressure on the ignition lock, but the key still will not turn.
Note, this is the third time that this has happened. About three months ago, I could not turn the key and had it towed to an independent garage. The key turned immediately for the mechanic and he could not duplicate the problem.
2009 Sonata LTD V6 ...
Process:
Unlock via key in the door, or via remote.
Insert key into the ignition, turn to start.
*If the radio was left on, it powers on.
*If the fan was left on, it powers on/blows.
*Headlights/interior lights all work.
But turning the key? Is *just* like turning the key on a car with a dead battery. The starter doesn't so much as click.
Stop, take the key out, repeat. Eventually, the car starts "normally". The end of the day going home, or next morning, etc? Just fine.
A few days per week, I get this issue. Of course, it never happens at the dealership. Things that have been replaced:
- The brake switch that caused the shifter to lock.
- The ignition, the first time I took the car in for this.
I have a 2010 sonata GLS which just turned a year old today. About a month or so ago I bought a 8000K HID kit. Its been working fine but the other night i went to leave a friends house and my headlights would not turn on at all. I replaced the fuse and still nothing. All the wiring is fine on the kit and inside the harness and the headlight. I don't know what to do. I have 2500K yellow high beams and I've been driving with them for the last few days but they blind people and i hate driving with them on. This didn't start until the day i took the car to the dealer for an oil change. what should i do?
View 1 RepliesI've notice it do this probably 4 or 5 times in the last couple days. I turn my brights on and the radio will turn off for a second and turn back on by itself. Its not just the display going blank because the sound goes off also.
I trying to figure out all electrical I have going when this happens. Rear Defrost etc.
I think it went out once without turning the brights on but I can't remember what I was doing that time. Have less than 4k on my warranty.
I took the starter off over last weekend, tested it and it was working. I can hear a click every time I turn the key in the ignition but nothing after. The first time that happen I couldn't move the stick either. I change the brake light switch now it seems that I can move the shift freely but still doesn't start. In Park or Neutral I can hear a click, if I put in gear and try to start I hear nothing. So I'm thinking that it cannot be the switch Park/Neutral not working because I would not hear a click anytime.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2006 Sonata v6 and I'm guessing the starter has gone bad? I figured I had a dead battery, but now I have a brand new one that I even put on the charger for a few hours and I'm still just getting one little "tick" and then nothing when I turn the key. The interior lights come on and everything seems normal until I try and start the car. I just read about cycling through lock and unlock on the keyless entry and this worked! It started 5 times in a row just now.
View 6 RepliesI flush mounted my bass knob where the extra spaces are next to the esc button and light dimmer, in order to take that out i unplugged those two harnesses and now when i put it all back together my dash lights wont turn on (speedometer , temp, gas) along with where the a/c buttons are. What fuse would it be? I checked the one that said cluster but that wasn't it, what else could it be?
View 5 RepliesI own a 2006 sonata v6, how to keep the fog lights on without having to turn on the headlight or how to turn them on with the parking lights?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 Sonata V6 with 85,000 miles. A week ago, as I was making a sharp left turn into a parking space, there was a loud clunk clunk noise when I applied the brake and then it almost felt as though the brake pedal was slipping. I took it to a repair shop on Monday and they said I needed new front brakes and rotors. I said fine and had the work done. The clunk clunk noise is still there. There's no problem when I'm driving straight, in reverse or making a right turn, only the left.
View 13 RepliesSo if i turn off the radio and turn the cabin fan on (lowest level) i hear a tick-tick-tick within the dashboard. It seems to be louder than I remember it to be..
Its there with both the a/c on and off, all temp settings. Fan going bad?
I have a weird noise coming from both sides of my car when I turn the wheel its almost like a creek when i turn my wheel to the right and the left. My one friend who is a tech for dodge looked under the car and checked the axles and he said they looked fine so its not them. I went to the dealer last week and they told me it was my upper control arms so i got them done today when I left the dealer it sounded like it was gone. As soon as I turned home I heard it again.
My sonata has 84k on it its an 07 2.4L ....
Just noticed a new sound. When making left turns only, a sound comes from the right. Sort of continuous high pitched. What is wrong?
View 12 RepliesOwn a 2006 Sonata GLS 3.3L.
Having an issue where the trunk indicator light stays on on the dash and won't turn off; just started yesterday. It causes the car alarm to go off prematurely when the car is locked via remote and will not beep when locked twice with remote indicating that it is locked.
Otherwise the trunk functions properly, opens and closes fine, latches fine. The only work done in the past 3 months was an oil change a few days ago.
I Have a sonata 2007 2.4L automatic and I just had a start problem today. I turned the start key and nothing no crank, all the light in the dashboard are ok, i can hear the fuel pump and my batery is fine. I tried 5 time to start it and nothing I wait 10 minutes and the car started ..
View 10 RepliesI have 2007 Hyundai Sonata SE V6, 72k. Out of warranty. Problem is parking lights does not turn off when I turn off the car and take the key out. I have to play with the switch from On to Auto many times in order to turn them off. Sounds like stuck relay. I also have "auto switch off" feature which is supposed to turn off everything when I open the driver’s door AND the key is out. This does not turn off the lights as well. Lately it is very difficult to turn them off, especially when the car has been running for some time. Brake switch as per the recall has been changed in the past.
I went to the dealership, paid $110 for diagnostics and they said I need to replace the junction fuse box in the engine compartment - I found such a box for less and replaced it myself. Problem still exist. After reading some more online, the forums said that the parking relay is integrated in the other junction/fuse box – the one under the left front dash (91950-3K560).
Can this box be opened and fixed? Is there another solution other than replacing the fuse box?
