I have no owners manual and cannot determine the meaning of this light indicator on my dashboard. It resembles a letter "U" more horseshape with the exclamation point in the middle of the U. How to determine the problem that this light indicates? BTW, I have been driving my car and concerned that continuing will damage.

Having an issue where the trunk indicator light stays on on the dash and won't turn off; just started yesterday. It causes the car alarm to go off prematurely when the car is locked via remote and will not beep when locked twice with remote indicating that it is locked.
Otherwise the trunk functions properly, opens and closes fine, latches fine. The only work done in the past 3 months was an oil change a few days ago.
I am trying to diagnosis a new issue on my 2006 V6 Sonata . I plugged in my code scanner which gave back MIL Status as ON, but there was no Check Engine - Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) lit up on the instrument cluster. It also showed that the EVAP, CAT and O2S was "Not Ready". When I checked the codes, I had P0031, P0037, P0051 and P0057, all of which are tied to Low Heater Circuits in the O2 sensors. When I checked the cables under the hood, the lower O2 sensor cable closest to the firewall was stuck onto exhaust pipe. It easily pulled free but I tried clearing the codes but the same 4 codes remained. I checked the resistance across the heater control and ground circuit, all 4 O2 sensors were around 10 ohms.
There seems to be several issues:
1) Why doesn't the instrument cluster register the MIL status as ON and display this Check Engine Light?
2) Why are the EVAP, CAT and O2 "Not Ready", I've heard that these are sometimes tied to disconnecting the battery. I've put almost 3K miles on the vehicle since the battery change.
3) OBD Codes P0031, P0037, P0051, P0057, I would expect all O2 sensors to fail at once, is there a fuse or other control that needs to be replaced or reset?
I am trying to get everything ready for emissions testing on this recently purchased 06 Sonata and I am thinking these issues will cause it to fail.
while driving outside temperature indicator went down to 25 (its about 70 outside) 5 min after my dashboard went blank.? Car is running fine, radio works.. (its 06, 2.0T)

Its there with both the a/c on and off, all temp settings. Fan going bad?
I have owned and driven a 2011 Sonata for the past 9 months (12,000 kms). In the last two weeks the eco light on the dash has delayed coming on until the car has been driven for five minutes or so - usually around three kilometers. Once it comes on, it will function in the normal manner and will come on the moment the car moves even after it having been parked for a while. My thought is a sensor problem or a loose connection but I am not sure.

View 3 RepliesI have a 2006 sonata and my alarm light on my dash board is blinking rapidly and then my blinker lights will turn on and stay on for a few seconds then it does everything all over again. My car has never done any of this except a slow blink in the red LED alarm light. I don't want my battery to die! Is there anything wrong with my car or is this normal?
View 1 RepliesI have a 06 sonata v6 with 120k. Today while driving the car started to lose power then the lights on the dash board flickered radio went nuts and the car lost all power. What could be causing this? Moved battery a little bit and got power back but then started driving and it did the same thing. I did have the heater on 2. You can feel it lose power while accelerating.
View 6 RepliesWhen I had my center console out to do the DIY cupholder light mod, I also took apart the gear position indicator light assembly. It is just a plastic clamshell around a pc board with a bunch of LEDs on it. Three phillips screws hold it together. It is a really simple design. I took a black sharpie pen to each of the LEDs, putting a centered dot on each of them, covering maybe 2/3 of the lens area. I just guessed at that coverage. I reassembled it and was very pleased at the result when it's dark out. The brightness is about half of what it was, just right in my book. You can use the "DIY cupholder mod" thread (page 1) to see how to get the console out. I drive a lot at night, and the bright light has always bothered me. Now if I could just dim those annoying bright green dash lights...
View 25 RepliesI started this string over a year ago (see below). My car continues to suffer the same problem. It now has 62,000 miles on it. I finally decided to take it to the dealership seeing as my local mechanic and 2 VW specialists could not figure out what is wrong - 2 new sets of coils, 2 news sets of spark plugs, and several expensive diagnostic tests that reveal nothing later. The dealership also has no clear idea what is wrong with the car and VW itself has not been useful either (rather useless really). No service bulletins have been posted for my car. I have tried several additives (Techron, Sea Foam) but that did not yield any results. The one thing I have noticed is that the misfiring ceases to occur when the gas tank is a little less than half full but begins to occur again as the gas gauge reaches the refill zone. It misfires like crazy when the tank is full. I am thinking of replacing the wiring harness for the fuel injectors but this is yet another best guess as to what might be wrong with the car.
I have a 2006 Jetta with a 5 speed manual transmission and 35,000 miles. The engine randomly misfires causing it to stutter or stammer. The check engine light is on and has been for several weeks. Occasionally the check engine light flashes. I took it to a local mechanic who ran a series of diagnostic tests (no vacuum leaks) and they recommended having all the ignition coils replaced for all 4 cylinders. They also replaced the fuel filter. I did so but the problem soon returned to which they referred me to the dealer. I decided to take it to a VW specialist in town and they replaced the spark plugs for all 4 cylinders. They noticed that some of the plugs were black with a buildup and some were clean.

Whenever I start my 2011 Sonata Turbo after it has been resting overnight, the brake warning light comes on and stays on. It's not immediate?it usually takes five to ten seconds, and whether the emergency brake was on when I started has no effect. Once it goes on, it cannot be shut off without shutting off the car and restarting?at which time it acts normally for the rest of the day. The braking system is fine.

View 1 RepliesMy "bulb out" dashboard indicator came on and after checking all lights I could not find a burnt out bulb. I took the car to the local dealer and they told me the "bulb failure relay" was bad and needed replacing. I decided to try and replace it myself but so far I'm not doing to good.
I found this picture on another website and also read that the realy is permantly mounted to the relay board. Also, when I looked at pictures of the replacement relay they lok nothing like the original.
So now I'm wondering how the heck do you take the old relay out and get the new one in that doesn't at all look like the original?

I have a 2006 manual Hyundai accent with 82,000 kms. In the last couple of days the mil has illuminated so i took it to a mechanic who put it on the computer which he says it could be sucking air or bad fuel or many other things. He did cancel the light which stayed out for about 70 kms and its back on its not flashing just illuminated. Can this do any damage to the motor if still driving.
