Recharging the A/C on a 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS.
I think I have a slow leak, so I bought a DIY and was going to recharge it and see if that fixes it. Where exactly is the low pressure port so I can charge it?
Is it complicated to do? Looking for a picture of the location?
Where is it. Probably under some shroud, but before I start taking things off, where it is from the perspective of standing in front of the grill.

I can't seem to find the location of the neutral safety switch on my 2005 accent 5 speed manual. I removed the air filter box and looked all around the top, bottom, and sides of the tranny. I have the new part so I do know what it looks like.

View 5 RepliesOK Wife has been coming home and the car smells like coolant. The tiny hose from the rad cap to the reservoir isn't pressurized and popping the res cap does not release pressure. Do they are supposed to pressurized?
The coolant level is in the exact middle of high and low just after a 25 minute highway drive. I cant see any puddles or leaks anywhere on the tray; but I have pulled the tray anyway to see if leaks show up on my floor. Temp gauge never wavers at all from what she tells me.
This is a bit perplexing. Maybe a bad rad cap?
I have a 1994 Porsche 968 and I can not find the lowside AC charge port. Where it is?
View 3 RepliesI just learned that the charging port is in the right rear, compared to the Prototype with the port in the left front. Seems to me that about 50% of the time, the driver will get in the car and drive off with the car still plugged in because they won't see the cable when getting in. Or at best, you will get in the car, and then have to get out again to unplug it. What am I missing?
View 19 RepliesAs luck would have it I'm leaving out in the morn for 600 miles , Noticed a nail in my L/F tire yesterday went too Goodyear they pilled the tire patched it inside.. Then this morn went to fuel up my ABS light stayed on .. Did this last yr. went off after a few days but since the tire was pulled maybe its a bad connection ??? ..Jut want to be sure and scan codes
I want to scan it now to check and reset any codes But looked under the Drivers side dash can not find the OBD connection port looked on Passenger side nothing there either.. Looked under hood around fuse box did not see anything that kind of looked like a port with a cap I'd assume they cap them if under the hood .. Its a 05 S/D 6.0 locate this OBD11 port
To install my FLIR system I need a 12V power supply, ideally switched with my Gen III's ignition switch. Where in the engine compartment can I find that?
View 3 RepliesChanged my oil today and check the air filter. I noticed that there is oil on the air filter, so I'm thinking the PCV valve is bad (car has 136,000 miles). I want to check it but I'm not sure where it's located. Where it's located (pictures would be great) and how involved it is to replace?
View 4 RepliesMy son has an 01 LeSabre Custom with 87k. He says the a/c isn't working. I tried to put my gauges on it tonight, but I couldn't find the low pressure service port, but there's two on the high side (one on either side of a tubing connector).
I figure it should be obvious. I'm worried that the system was previously dorked with...with the two high-side ports and no low-side port. But everything looks factory.
The dryer is in the front left (passenger) of the engine compartment (when standing in front of and facing vehicle). I see the low-side line from evaporator come into it, then out of it down to the compressor in the center bottom, behind radiator. No port that I can find.
While looking for the a/c port, I also saw CVJ grease splattered all over on the driver side...it's always something. Just bought this last February (couldn't check the a/c too well) to replace the very nice 00 LeSabre 55k we bought in November for him. But the 00 didn't survive the collision with the truck that pulled in front of him...
I recently tried to recharge my 1994 Saturn SW2 air conditioning. The system took the charge fine, nice cool air again. Yea! On disconnecting the adapter, I heard the sound of escaping gas. I was able to place my thumb over the port and block the leak, tried reattaching adapter and removing several times, but the valve will not fully seal. Placing the cap back on the port with a small piece of plastic food wrap (hi tech) stopped the sound, but obviously not the leak entirely. A couple of weeks and the a/c is back to blowing hot air.
Is there any way to encourage the valve to seal? Should I try the variety of refrigerant that seals leaks? Is there a better choice for blocking the leak than food wrap? If it comes to it, replacing the low pressure line, is that something a person who knows how to use a wrench but not much more can do?
Have an E150 van with 302 engine. Where is the low pressure charging port on this beast.? The high press. is immediately visible but can not find low....
The van still has the old r-12 and I have 2 cans left...want to charge the system one more time before we get our new 6.0L VAN late this winter!

View 10 RepliesWhere is the fuel tank air filter located? If you will look in your maint. log or owners manual for the four cyl. under emmissions control you will find the fuel tank air filter to be inspected at 15000 miles and changed at 30000 miles.
