View 14 RepliesMy 2006 Hyundai Sonata ESC light keeps coming on and the radio and lights dim on and off. I already had two alternators installed whats up with that?
View 3 RepliesWhen I open any of the doors, the interior lights are not coming on automatically. If I turn them on manually, they work fine. Is there a switch that controls this or possibly a blown fuse?
View 7 RepliesAbout month ago, my cabin lights stopped coming on when I open the door. I can turn the lights on, so it is not bulbs. It's a pain to come home at night and not have the lights come on for a few minutes as I get out of the car.
View 5 RepliesSo my esc off light keeps coming on every now and then..what is this ? and what does that mean? I have a button for it but i never press it?
View 7 RepliesI have an 06 sonata and have no brake lights and the constant ESC off light staying on. After reading countless threads on here I see that the brake light switch was recalled on these and this is extremely common problem with this year and model. I went to my local shop bought a brand new switch, installed it properly and still the lights won't come on. I changed the fuses as well. Emergency lights, and the tail lights when the headlights are on come on but no brake lights. My next guess is the bulbs? they look ok. But I had a dodge caravan where both bulbs went out before at the same time so is that a possibility with this?
View 3 RepliesIs there a replaceable bulb for the check engine light? Mines stop coming on when starting the car. I think that's why I failed the emissions test. I didn't check with the attendant in the office to get an explanation.
View 1 RepliesMy 06 3.3 is having a problem with the pulleys. A few days ago something squealed, like a loose belt squeal. I put it off, then when I started it up this morning, I heard a clanging noise coming from the engine, and the battery light turned on. I checked everything out and saw that there is a pulley broken off which is rattling around the crankshaft pulley. I figured it was a pulley that had broken off, but all 7 pulleys in the car are present and accounted for. Incidentally, the serpentine belt is way loose, which would be why the car lost power and eventually died. Am I completely lost or did an 8th pulley magically appear in my engine.
View 4 RepliesThe ESC warning light has started coming on intermittently on my 06 GLS. Stays solid, not blinking. Turning the car off and starting again resets it but never for long.
The brake light switch was already replaced once at 36K miles. It's now at about 84,500. Do these things have a history of going bad multiple times?
For what it's worth, my little ELM327 ODB II plug-in gadget shows no faults but it may not be able to see the right data. I'm taking it back to the dealer in the morning, where they probably won't fix it and probably will break something else.
From time to time, the engine lights comes on with error code P0365, it usually disappears within two days (it disappears by itself), but it appears once per month and stays for two days.
The code scanner says :P0365 Camshaft Position Sensor B Circuit Malfunction (Bank 1)
Do I need to change the sensor? and where is it located?
my Sonata is 2009, 2.0L (Korean imported) 4 cylinder ...
I have a 07 Sonata. Today, the ABS and ESC OFF lights came on. Everything was normal when I turned off the car and turned it on again (for a while) but then those lights came back on. Is it related to the STOP LAMP SWITCH issue? Would Hyundai honor the recall? [URl] .... If not, how to re-install a new switch?
View 6 RepliesBought an 06 Sonata not too long ago, when I test drove it I didn't think to check the fog lights, but they don't work. I checked the fuses and they're good. Is this a common problem? And is there something else I should check?
View 5 RepliesA few times over the last few weeks my abs and esc lights will come on simultaneously. After turning car off and then on, they go away. No problems seem to be happening. What that means?
View 1 RepliesSo I was following my wife today and noticed she had no brake lights. We just had the car in for servicing a couple months ago and at that time they noted all brake lights were fine. I wouldn't expect all of them to burn out at once, but I did replace one just to see (had an extra from last time since they come in twin packs) and that one isn't working either. So I was searching and I'm guessing it is the brake lamp switch.

Wondering if there's a way to fix the problem without replacing the entire instrument cluster.
I have 85110 miles on it. Only the "110" is showing, and part of the "8."
I have a 2009 Sonata Limited that would occasionally have the esc off light come on and off but only when it was hot out but recently it came on as did the ABS warning light and the brake system light and in some situations the cruse control won't work. Then lights shut off and all the while the car operates fine. The dealership thinks it's a Hydraulic pump...
View 11 RepliesReceived a battery jump in the dark from a friend who mistakenly had crossed the polarity. It blew the 150amp alternator fuse which is now replaced. Now, the ABS, ESC Off and brake lights stay on after starting. I have checked all fuses and the main relay, both under the hood and in side of dash, and cannot figure out what is causing this. The auto shift lever is locked out and I don't want to override it not knowing if it will cause any damage. Also, what protocol OBD system would this auto fall under?
View 9 RepliesSeems like every time I drive my car at night when it's raining, my dash lights flicker some and then turn off completely. The exterior lights stay on, just the dash lights turn off.
When this occurs, I typically hit the top of the cluster w/ my hand and the lights come back on. Then I adjust the illumination setting and it goes back to normal. (I used to have to do the same thing on my old 1991 Jetta). So obviously there is a short somewhere.
It's not a big problem, it just gets annoying having to hit my car for being bad.
I have a 2006 Hyundai Sonata V6.
The Check Engine light came on days ago. I have tried to re-close the gas cap, it's not it. This morning, I am on my way to bring my daughter to school and maybe 500 feet out of my driveway onto the main road, my car loose it's acceleration power. I pulled over and noticed the ESC light was on. I turned off the engine. Turned it back on. Both lights still on. Rinse...repeat with turning it off and turning it on....this time it worked, ESC light was now off but the Check Engine light was still on. I proceeded back onto the road with no more acceleration problems.
I flush mounted my bass knob where the extra spaces are next to the esc button and light dimmer, in order to take that out i unplugged those two harnesses and now when i put it all back together my dash lights wont turn on (speedometer , temp, gas) along with where the a/c buttons are. What fuse would it be? I checked the one that said cluster but that wasn't it, what else could it be?
View 5 RepliesOk, So my car wont come out of park unless you do the manual override. I recently put a new battery in the car and accidentally put it on backwards. I was lucky enough not to burn the ECU as the car starts and still drives but the ABS and ESC lights are on along with the BRAKE light.
