I flush mounted my bass knob where the extra spaces are next to the esc button and light dimmer, in order to take that out i unplugged those two harnesses and now when i put it all back together my dash lights wont turn on (speedometer , temp, gas) along with where the a/c buttons are. What fuse would it be? I checked the one that said cluster but that wasn't it, what else could it be?
View 5 RepliesSeems like every time I drive my car at night when it's raining, my dash lights flicker some and then turn off completely. The exterior lights stay on, just the dash lights turn off.
When this occurs, I typically hit the top of the cluster w/ my hand and the lights come back on. Then I adjust the illumination setting and it goes back to normal. (I used to have to do the same thing on my old 1991 Jetta). So obviously there is a short somewhere.
It's not a big problem, it just gets annoying having to hit my car for being bad.
My dash lights flash on and off. Happens every time I start the car and always within a 1/2 mile - almost as if it is tied to the odometer somehow.

View 5 RepliesI've been having a problem which i cant seem to find the fix for. My ABS and ECS dash light keep turning on. Its intermittent and does not stay on. Ive noticed that it usually happens if I travel at highway speeds for more than 15miles. I had the brakes x4 changed 1 year ago and all brake pads show good life. Brake fluid is at a good level with no leaks to be seen. I am wondering if its one of the sensors? How can one check for that? I have a 2006 3.3l GLS with 86k.

View 3 RepliesI have 2007 Hyundai Sonata SE V6, 72k. Out of warranty. Problem is parking lights does not turn off when I turn off the car and take the key out. I have to play with the switch from On to Auto many times in order to turn them off. Sounds like stuck relay. I also have "auto switch off" feature which is supposed to turn off everything when I open the driver’s door AND the key is out. This does not turn off the lights as well. Lately it is very difficult to turn them off, especially when the car has been running for some time. Brake switch as per the recall has been changed in the past.
I went to the dealership, paid $110 for diagnostics and they said I need to replace the junction fuse box in the engine compartment - I found such a box for less and replaced it myself. Problem still exist. After reading some more online, the forums said that the parking relay is integrated in the other junction/fuse box – the one under the left front dash (91950-3K560).
Can this box be opened and fixed? Is there another solution other than replacing the fuse box?
My 2007 Hyundai Sonata lights won't turn off on auto or manually. Took it to the dealer and. they said.....
checked fuses okay has internal relay in IP Junction blocked checked power at Pin 7 and 8 RH and L/H Trail Lamp ASSY with Switch off voltage at 12V internal Failure in IP Junction Block. Recommend to replace.
I have read a few other posts in regards to this issue. My parking lights do not turn off when the car is shut off and lights are either manually turned off or if the auto function is used. I understand that it is the drivers side fuse box that has a relay built into it that controls the on/off function of the parking lights. I do not see anywhere that I can buy the fuse box. The local dealer wants me to pay for diagnostics before going any further.
View 1 RepliesI drove from office to home today. After 30 min, the remote unlock worked fine, got into the car, turned the ignition to "A" and "ON". All the dashboard lights, headlights and radio turned on. When I turned the key to "START" , car won't start and all the lights and radio turned off. There was no cranking and any other noise from engine. Removed the key and tried again. Now there is no power at all. Not sure what happened.

View 4 RepliesI know I'm not the only one that think the dash illumination lights are too bright! Even when turn turn them all the way down, yes they go down but still too bright. Any mod to make the inside lights dark? I have thought about buying tint and tint the over the speedometer and the clock and radio... Not sure how it would hold since its plastic......
I use my personal car for side work (at night) and need sit in my car and if the car is running and I cut all the lights off, and use the emergency brake to cut the day time running lights off, the dash lights go bright...wtf. I've also thought about removing the fuse for the lights, but I read the same fuse is used for the airbags as well.....
2011 Sonata GLS
I started the car this morning, plugged the phone charger into the lighter socket, noticed the charger light wasn't on, pressed the charger in tighter, the car started to run funny, then it cut off. Lights work, radio won't work, all fuses are alright upon several visual inspections. Car wants to turn over but won't start. I tried disconnecting the negative battery cable to see if the car would revert back to "normal". I have never had a problem with this car in the two years I've had it; the battery was purchased brand new in November of 2011. I unplugged the cigarette lighter to see if that would work but nothing so far. Could it be the ignition switch?!

The light on the dash was on and all the other tail lights worked. Before I had to leave I quickly looked for the headlight fuse(s). Where to find it(them)? I may have to drive home after dark and will need headlights.

All of the warning lights on my dash are lit up. I cannot put the car in gear due to the drive not showing up. The RPM's show 0, then after a few seconds they bump and start working. After restarting car a few times it finally goes away. Everything but the check engine lights. Anything to try before I put it in the shop tomorrow?
I have a 1995 k1500 when I turn the key on no lights on the dash if I wait 5-10 second you hear a click sound in steering column and the dash lights come on and starts fine. ???
View 1 RepliesI messed up when jumping my car. Two fuses needed to be replaced, and also the fuseable link block. I've replaced those, but emergency informational lights are still on. I checked the areas: brakes worked, brake fluid okay, etc. So how do I turn off the lights? I know when I change oil, the maintenance light will stay on and has to be turned off ; so is there a way to turn off these lights/?
Also, do the diagnostic tools at Autozone work on hybrids? I've not tried it, but curious.
How do I turn my dash lights COMPLETELY off? I do a lot of night driving and have learned to live with the dimmer all the way down, though my personal preference is to have it just a little dimmer. My commute makes traffic unpredictable, so I often get to work early (better than too late!), so I like to nap a little in the car until time to drag myself in to the office. When my headlights are off and I'm parked, the dash lights are WAY bright. Is there a way to turn them off, and also have the headlights off too? I need the headlights off (and the silly parking lights that stay on till you set the parking brake). So, simply stated, is there a way to turn everything all the way off while the engine (and heater) stay running?

View 19 RepliesI have a 1990 aerostar 4.0 eddie bauer. I cant figure it out but when I turn the head lights on the dash lights go out. with the head lights turned off, the dash lights work just fine. I have changed the headlight switch, and the panel dimmer switch.
