I have a 2007 Sonata Limited and the Center Armrest Latch (uppper/lower) is broken. I ordered the parts but the seller cancelled the order saying it does not fit my car. Do I have to buy the whole armrest ?

View 4 RepliesI recently acquired a 2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS after my old car was totaled. I love the car but I've already had a problem trying to open the hood. The interior hood release lever does not pop the hood. I took it to Hyundai and they were able to pop it. They told me the bottom of the hood latch was broken! Needless to say I'd like to replace the part myself but I cant figure out how to move the hood latch from in front of the engine.

View 1 RepliesOne of the brackets that connects the tray inside the center console is broken. I wanted to order the part but I only see the inside tray available to buy, not the brackets. I was wondering if I ordered the tray, will the brackets come with it? I don't want to order the tray and then it turns out no brackets, then I'll be stuck with an extra tray. The closest part number I see on Sewell is Part # 58801E.

View 2 RepliesOk, I can live with little things like the drivers side pillar not being completed seated and flush, or the drivers seat rocking a little from time to time.
But the thing that annoys me the most is the center console armrest lid squeaking every time you lean against it. I drove 3 SFS's before I bought mine. All of them squeaked.
Any fix for this to stop it from squeaking? Besides going to the dealer and getting the run around.
Due to the way the armrest slides back to reveal the cup holder and then tilts it is hitting my sons legs while he is sitting in the rear seats. Cant quite see the logic in the design of this as when its slid back there is like 10 cm space between the back of the armrest and the rear seat. The design on our old 2007 was much better. No slide, just tilt. I know that my 3 boys in the back will find some way to damage it while its slid back or tilted back plus I dont really want my sons legs to be cut off in a potential accident. So my question is, how to successfully modify it to stop the slide and allow it just to tilt?
View 19 RepliesI noticed my hood latch release getting a little stiffer over some time to the point that my hood latch cable stretched out and didn't work. I fixed it by tying a knot in the cable to shorten the length and now it works fine. HOWEVER, it is still getting stiffer. I unhooked the 2 cable peices where they connect under the hood on the driver side to see if they are sticking, they both are smooth. I also latch the release mechanism (without closing the hood) and activated it easily. BUT still when I use it on the hood, it is very stiff.

This morning I opened my center console armrest to tuck the iPod cord back in, when I went to lower the armrest it only dropped about 1/5th the total amount it would need to close. I fooled with it for long enough to know If I continue to apply more pressure something is going to break. The movement it has is smooth until the point it abruptly stops. I checked the owners manual with no luck, called the dealer service center which came up empty handed as well.

You know, you get in the truck and lean on the center "arm rest" to get better situated. After a while the constant abuse brakes something and now the armrest is now floppy

My drivers side armrest was broken when I bought it. Been searching for repair advise but have not found any. Instead of stopping so you can put your arm on it, it just falls down. I sorta wanted to see what I was getting into before taking it apart.

View 2 RepliesSince I purchased my 2010 Prius about a week ago the center console top never slid completely forward. It slides to about where the cup holder insert is and stops. I've taken the cup holder out and it still stops in the same spot.
View 19 RepliesI have the 60/40 seat with fold down "jump seat" that has the 2 cup holders and console. In the down position, it squeaks something fierce on any kind of a bumpy/rough surface. On paved roads it's fine.
View 11 RepliesI had to remove/repair my hood latch (cable broke) on my 2008. There is a 2-wire sensor or similar device mounted to the latch. what is its purpose? I broke the wires to it - yet see no evidence that any system ceased to work as a result. I want to make sure it isn't something critical.
View 7 RepliesSo I have a broken seat latch on the right side. I can't get the seat to go down because the handle comes out as a whole. Also when I look deeper, the white plastic piece that appears to be associated with it is also broken. How can I unlatch the seats to fold them down?
