I have a 2006 Sonata GL. The airbag light on the dashboard stays off when I turn the key on and starting the engine, I checked fuses of airbag they were good. where is the problem?

View 11 RepliesOver the past 2 days I drove without the center of the steering wheel in place because I was in the middle of removing the turn signal arm - I had to wait until I found a T55 torque bit for removing the steering nut. Anyway, the I installed a new turn-signal arm and re-assembled the steering wheel and such. Even after reconnecting the airbag I'm still getting an airbag light on my instrument cluster. Is this a fault code that needs to be reset from the dealer? I know I plugged all the connectors correctly - only one way to do it.
View 1 RepliesJust purchased the 2012 GLS this past Saturday and everything is good except for one thing. My dome light even in the "door" position stays on after starting the car and driving. I have to manually switch it to off to turn the interior light off, which is annoying. I called the dealership today and they had no prior experience with that problem. BTW, I did have a sunroof installed.

View 1 RepliesI own a 2006 Hyundai Azera and my air bag dash light stays on after I start the car and while driving. I understand that there was a TSB for the passenger side airbag but not the driver's side air bag? I called the dealership and they told me that since I have over 60K miles, it is not covered under waranty. I have also read that there are air bag sensor wires under the driver's side seat and this could be the source of the problem. Is it easy to get under the driver's seat to access the air bag sensors?
View 3 RepliesTwo years ago I replaced the rear turning lights with LEDs and updated the flasher. Last week as the headlights came on I saw on my dashboard the left turn signal was on. I stopped and checked, the rear left turning light was on, not flashing and the front parking/turning light was off.
When the headlight are off, there is no problem flashing. The right side is flashing with HL on or off. I replaced the left side rear turning light with a bulb and the problem went away. The front bulb and rear LED are good. What is going on?

And today I noticed when I was driving the car by myself the passenger seatbelt light was blinking and the passenger airbag light off bag wasn't lit? Even though there was no one in the passenger seat? I'm just wondering if there was ever a recall and if I should take it to the dealership.
View 1 RepliesI have two Sonatas, an 08 and 09 both limited and both 4 cylinders. On the 09 I treated myself to a custom leather and wood steering wheel. I disconnected the battery and let the car sit for a couple hours before starting swap. Then took my time and disconnected all wires and used a puller to remove the old wheel. Transferred the cruse and radio switches to the new wheel and reassembled in the reverse of removal. No issues everything went smooth. Reconnected the battery and started the car now the airbag light is on The light comes on when you initially turn the key goes off for about five or six seconds and then comes back on when engine is running. I did a search with no luck. I will disassemble and recheck everything.

View 4 RepliesWhen I'm driving without a passenger, the passenger seat belt reminder light illuminates and stays on. Is there some sort of computer or weight sensor in the seat that trips this indicator light? I've noticed that sometimes, if I push down on the seat or move the seat forward or back, the light will go off. For the most part, however, it comes back on and remains on.

Yesterday out of nowhere the red Airbag light on the dash illuminated when I started the car. This has never happened before. I tried turning the car off and on, but it just came back.
The light comes on normally, then goes out. It then comes right back on at the same time the "passenger airbag off" light illuminates.
I made a quick check of the connections under the passenger seat and none seemed loose. I'm planning on taking a closer look and disconnecting/reconnecting the terminals to see if anything is obviously wrong.
I'm pretty mad that my Sonata has another problem. It only has 80k miles. I've owned it just over one year and I've had the following problems:
-fuel overflowing. I haven't been able to sort this one out yet.
-OCV failure. I replaced it myself.
-Lots of ABS and brake warning lights. Dealer eventually told me I needed a new ABS pump for nearly $2000.
-Now this airbag problem.
I'm definitely very dissatisfied with the reliability of this car. If I had it to do over again, I definitely would have spent a little more to get another brand. This has been the most unreliable car I've owned in my 13 years of driving.
I recently bought a used 2006 Sonata LX. I have noticed that the passenger airbag light on the dash above the heater controls flashes constantly when I drive alone (no passenger). Is there a way to turn that off? It's pretty annoying at night.

Thought maybe it was because i left the back seat folded down for almost a week, but since then i have placed it back completely into position. Disconnected the battery and re-connected it, still stays on..
I have also driving almost 200 miles with the seat back in normal position, was hoping it would re-set by now.. I recently installed a stereo system in the car, everything got hooked up to the factory stereo, and the light didn't come on for almost 2 weeks after the install.. Could it be because of the back seat being folded down?
My subs hit pretty hard, could this be enough to trigger some sensor? I have two Rockford Fosgate 12" P2 subs, powered by a RF 1000 watt amp. I've asked many Car Audio specialist about air-bags deploying from hard hitting bass, and i pretty much got laughed at every time, none of them have ever herd of it happening, and i would think by now there would be some videos on you-tube of this happening.. I cant find anything anywhere saying airbags have ever been deployed from hard hitting bass...
I've also herd moving the front seats forward and back could trip some kind of sensor? My fiance is only 5'2 and i am 6' and its our only car so needless to say the seat gets moved quite often.. I know i should go to the dealer and have it hooked up to the "code reader" .. Just don't want to look stupid when i show up..
