AC does not work on Sonata 2006. It blows hot air.
1. Freon pressure is high level in red and I didn't add any new freon.
2. Checked fuse 7 A/Con and 19 A/C Relay and both are OK.
When I click on AC on/off green light on AC panel the light is lit but I don't hear any loud clicking sound.
I've been trying to get my dealer to take a look at my noisy engine. The loud clicking sound is getting really annoying. When at idle sitting at a red light, my car would click like my old - 1987 Toyota beater..
I brought it in 2 times to have the dealer check it out, but they would said its "normal" and that the high pressure injectors and fuel pump are loud on our 3GS.
So i was wondering to try using heat wrap to try to reduce the noise from the fuel pump. It seems like the fuel pump is making the most noise.
I just replaced rotors and pads on my 2007 Sonata. I got top of the line premium rotors and ceramic pads from Napa. Cleaned the oil off the rotors and gave them a light sanding before installing, made sure that the caliper bolts moved freely and the caliper pistons were not seized and also used new hardware kit (springs?) that came with the pads.
Everything seems to be ok, except for a clicking sound that occurs on hard breaking as the car is coming to a stop. I think its caused by the pads moving within its mounts (I did notice it was very easy to slide these pads into the mountings, more so than in previous pad replacements).
Reading from other posts I think this is still safe, but the clicking does bother me, should I use pad adhesive to stick the pads to the caliper?
The visor suddenly made a clicking sound while I was lowering it and stays in the lowered position. The mechanism holding the visor up has apparently broken inside the visor. What is needed to remove and replace this under-engineered part?

View 9 RepliesEver since I bought my 06 LX in November last year, it's either the transmission or possibly the engine that makes a whining sound. It's a very noticeable sound, every passenger I have mentions the sound. It starts as soon as I step on the gas.
I'm finally getting annoyed with the sound, and I'm wondering what I could possibly do. It's just out of warranty, 71000. I'll try to have a video recording of the sound by tomorrow.
So I just replaced the front rotors and brake pads on my 06 Sonata. Before I replaced them, the front passenger side had a clicking sound coming from it when I turned. So I thought this whole time that I needed a new CV joint. But after I replaced the rotors and pads I took it for a test drive and I noticed that the clicking noise was gone! So I guess my question is, can bad brake pads and rotors cause a clicking sound when turning?
View 4 RepliesM/T 2010 Sonata. I'm just out of warranty at 102,000 mi. No issues before with clutch. I noticed a clicking or crunching sound when pushing the clutch pedal down. I took a gander and noticed the pedal was traveling farther than it used to because there were indentations in the carpet. So this happens for about 3 days. Then I start the car and cant get it into gear. If I shut it off, it easily goes into gear and I can drive. Usually it is ok after that point but is getting worse. Mechanic briefly tried to bleed it but the pedal stayed on the floor. He was able to get it to its original problem but said if he replaces the master & slave cyl then might as well do a new clutch. Because I had no slippage, no pedal issues or anything prior to clicking. Is 102k miles and 6 years usual time for these components to fail?

View 1 RepliesI recently bought a 2006 Hyundai Sonata 3.3 V6. Had another issue related to the rear wheel, which I fixed. Today, I changed the oil filter on the car (along with the oil). I have heard this engine noise before, but with the cover off it appears a little louder. It’s basically a ‘ticking’ sound.
The engine uses no oil, and has no other leaks. It has some noise on startup for maybe 1-2 seconds (like a loud lifter or something, but it goes away in less than 2 seconds, and at the same time the oil light goes out). I changed the filter today because I was told that a leaky gasket could result in the Filter not retaining oil between starts, causes some minor knock for a few seconds.
But anyway, this other ticking noise seems to be regular, regardless of condition. I have heard some people say that some engine noise is normal for this engine, but how about this?

I have pushed the back windshield, and haven't gotten a peep anywhere, so it's not that. It's coming from the outside, because it is so much louder driving slower with the windows down. It appears to be coming from the rear left of the car. It's a definite "creak," and not a "thunk." Sounds like creepy stairs being walked over repeatedly...I haven't investigated hard enough to really pin point the direct spot, but it would sound to me like it has something to do with the suspension in the back left. However, it's not any more prominent when I hit a bump than it is just accelerating or decelerating, so that also leads me away from it being a suspension issue. I know I should look further into it to locate the spot.

2007 3GS 350 awd.
While I'm driving my car ( at a rolling speed 5mph-20mph) I get a clicking sound from front driver side when I hit a small bump, stop, and stop and go at a traffic light. Mainly clicking noise when I hit bumps, but when traveling at highway speeds and I hit a bump I do not hear the clicking noise. ITS VERY ANNOYING, and I have never heard this noise after the brutal snow we just got here in MA. Also I should add, I am currently on BC Racing BR type coil overs which I bought brand new and installed in October. Its not clunking like ball joints, or banging like a blown strut mount.
My question; Where to start? Something needs lubrication?
When I hit bumps, yank to the left, or go above a certain speed my steering wheel will start shaking and a loud clicking noise happens.
View 2 RepliesI have had no issues with this car of 120K miles until today, although my MPG has decreased to 35 MPG. The following lights came on with a loud beeping sound : Brake warning lights, malfunction indicator light, master warning light and the hybrid system warning light. These stayed on for 25 minutes and then went off. I drove 12 miles without any issues with all the lights and sounds beeping.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2011 Sonata SE that I really like but it has a very loud clicking noise that comes from under the car. The dealer says that it is probably the cat converter expanding. I have contacted the Hyundai customer care and they say that this is normal.
View 13 RepliesMy 2006 sonata (3.3l) 108k miles has developed a recent problem. The oil light will come on (usually during acceleration) and then go off in a second. i guess you could call it a flicker. I also notice a helicopter sound from the engine. When I rev it up in park I don't hear it. i hear a slight rattler In the alternator area. the serpentine belt is original.
So last week my daughter got the oil changed. I noticed it was leaking oil. I checked fluids and it was fine. I noticed oil on top of the engine, I just thought they spilled some. Continued to leak. checked the oil again and it was approx. 1 3/4 quarts low. The oil light never came on. I suspected the oil filter (its on top of the engine). brought it back to jiffy lube and they said the filter was loose. they gave me a new one and filled up the oil. no ticks or engine noises were noticeable.
So my question is could the oil light be something else (maybe tied to that helicopter sound)?. is an oil light flicker always low oil pressure.
2008 3.3L 77,800 miles (approx). Bought this car as a replacement for my totaled 2006 back in May 2011. I have noticed on morning starts or hot starts after car has sat for about 30 min, a 'Rod knock" sound that quits exactly at the same time the oil light goes out. I bought this car with 60K on it, with all 60K maintenance items done by dealer. I have since replaced oil on 5K intervals, have used 5w-30, 5w-20. Genuine Hyundai filters and one Fram cartridge. Nothing has changed. The car runs ok, other than horrible gas mileage ( average 2.8 LESS than my '06 under same conditions and verified by manual calculations). While the car runs ok, the noise unnerves me every time i hear it. Once i get lights out on oil pressure it never is heard again until the next start. Is this something I need to be concerned with? I had a sample of the oil analyzed at 65k, and came back good.
View 3 RepliesEarlier today on a easy drive (not pushing it) I noticed a slight "whistle-sound" that I haven't noticed before. About then it became VERY sluggish and the Engine Management Light started to flash.
As soon as I could I pulled over and connected my AL619 and it says "to low turbo/supercharger flow".
I didn't notice any smoke or smell, just a serious lack of power (i was doing 30km/h at the top of the hill).
Just tried to locate the leak, but I cant feel it or see it. I guess one would need one of those "smoke generators" to see where the pressure goes out.
So, do I have a broken turbo, or just a blown turbo pipe/tube?
It's been about 2 year almost. The shifter is difficult shifting from default position to Drive position. It's like there is some (plastic) obstacles on the way, right at the turning point. I have to force it to the drive position, and I hear the pretty loud clicking sound
Sometimes it also stuck in drive position (if I don't force it back), but will come back to default position in 10 seconds by itself. It is unlikely some external objects got into there I believe.
I have a 2002 Passat GLS and when I tried to start my car this morning, it would not start. When I turn on the ignition, the car gives off a loud clicking sound. The interior and exterior light works, the panel light works, and the radio works as well. What might be the problem?
View 4 RepliesMy son has a 03 mustang GT. He called and said it was making a loud clicking sound. I investigated and it appeared to have a exhaust leak, but I couldn't feel where it was coming from. I started tearing down until I got to the plugs. One of them blew out if the head. I was shocked. Have you heard of this in a car? I'd heard the Ford trucks had problems with the plugs blowing out. Its fixed and running like a champ now.
