Looking for a suspension diagram that can be shared for this model? I need to fix the squeaking noise from front passenger side and would like to have an overview pic of the suspension system.
View 6 RepliesI just bought a 2006 Sonata GLS V6 for my daughter to commute back and forth to college.
The car rides like a dream and has plenty of pep, but I had this annoying squeak when you go over bumps. It looks like the upper strut mount has a lot of play in it when you shake the car up and down, so I ordered 2 from Rock Auto. the left side feels and looks solid.
But I just read an article on the upper control arm replacement and wonder if that not my real problem here.
My wife has a 2006 Sonata with 75k on it currently. As the weather has gotten colder in the last few months the front suspension has started squeaking... Its sounds like rubberish squeaking noise from both sides of the vehicle.. Sounds to be more towards the top the car. As the weather gets colder it gets louder and you hear it more often. I was thinking maybe it was front strut mounts? I had stood outside the car and tried to bounce the front end to see if i could pin point it better...and I can't seem to duplicate the noise by bouncing the vehicle while its parked.. but soon as I drive it.. I hear it again.
View 5 RepliesSo I started hearing these random squeaking noises coming from the front suspension its what it sounds like. This only happens thou when i drive up into a drive way that is slanted. Or any kind of slow making slanted turns (~5-10mph)
I'm not 100% positive but it sounds like the suspension because it only makes noise when the car moves a little when ever i go up a drive way.
I have a 2007 Sonata Ltd (63000 miles) and had a clunk in the front suspension. I had the front upper control arms replaced (which were visually badly worn) and that fixed the problem. But now, a several months later another similar clunking noise has developed when I go over those small speed bumps in parking lots.
View 18 RepliesI have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata. It has about 55K miles. I really like my car and outside of regular maintenance since I bought it I've had no issues, until now. I bought it used 1.5 years ago, and it is a prior salvage (back-end wreck). My Dad is an auto body mechanic though also knows the non-auto body stuff, and he looked it over thoroughly and test drove it with me and said it was in great condition.
I'm going to try to explain this best I can, I'm not a car person though. When I turn left not from a complete stop, so when I'm turning left and there is no stop sign or stop light and I do not need to yield, it sounds like I have a bag of sand or something and all of the weight and sand is shifting from one side to the other. Oh, and I had my mechanic father drive it, he can't hear it because he's very hard of hearing. My Mom heard it though.
The noise sounds like its coming from the front passenger side. I checked the front glove compartment to make sure it wasn't just something shifting around in there.
My car's rear suspension bushes are getting torn and are making squeaking noise in bumps. I am able to get bush for trailing arm and stabiliser bar. My dealer says that i have to replace the whole knuckle assembly as the bush for that part are not available separately. Is this true or the dealer is trying to earn some quick bucks?
View 2 RepliesWhen driving I hear, not feel, a slight thumping noise that if I had to guess would say is coming from the passenger side front. When I let off the gas the noise becmes more prominent and you can feel the thumping. Also when I apply the brakes heavily the sound/feel goes back to the same as if I was driving. I'm thinking CV joint/axles or spindle bearings, but I cant understand why the condition is at it's worst when I'm coasting. Has this "noise while coasting" problem.
View 1 RepliesOk, I have a 2007 Sonata SE and it's been doing this squeaking for awhile when the front suspension is put to work, it's annoying, and it's embarrassing. Now the colder it is outside the louder the front squeaks, but then when it's pretty warm outside say 68 F or above maybe, it never squeaks it just clacks over bumps exactly the same sound as my coilovers that needed a seal, just verifying is this my Upper Control Arm bushings?

It was around 30 degrees out last night and driving and there was some squeaking heard the first time from the right front of the car it sounded like when hitting pot holes or certain dips in the road. Couldn't tell if it was the dash or suspension. Sound's like Styrofoam squeaking. Pretty sure its the suspension. First time I've ever heard any noise since I've had the car, bought used with 20k now has 107k on it.
View 1 RepliesRecently (last three months really), I've been noticing an oscillating squeaking noise coming from the passenger side of the dashboard on my '07 LS460. I've troubleshot the problem and have it isolated to coming on only when the A/C is turned on (recirculated or outside air- doesn't matter). When the A/C is off, the sound goes away.
No other squeaking noises at all coming from anywhere else on the car.
I have a sneaking suspicion it's related to the tensioner belt connected to the Air Conditioner, but I'm honestly not sure at all.
Might this be a more relatively simple belt issue? A/C is running pretty much all the time when the car is on- wouldn't be surprised at all if we've simply worn the belt through.

View 1 RepliesHaving problems with a squeaking or ticking noise coming from the front windshield area on the passenger side? I took off the A-pillar and tweeter speaker cover, and the noise was still there. Pressing on the A-pillar did not work and it's not any of the cords or plastics in there rubbing. It almost sounds like it's behind the A-pillar. Pressing on the dash, windshield, headliner, etc. all have no effect on the noise.
I'm trying really hard to fix this myself because I'm worried about a tech tearing apart the dash trying to fix it. It might end up worse than it is now. I'm thinking this TSB will need to be done (which seems to apply to all Toyotas): [URL] ....
Next on my list to check is the passenger side mirror (make sure it's fastened securely) and also the black liner under the windshield wipers. I also have foam (like the kind you use when installing a window AC) which I may also try stuffing into the bottom of the front windshield (and maybe the top) to see if that works.
If all else fails, the car is going to the dealer I guess. The Camry is such a quiet car that the noise is really irritating in an otherwise quiet interior. Other than this noise, the car is great! Just a little bummed because my 2005 has zero rattles or noises and my gf's old 2009 also had no rattles or noises. The 2015 refresh is nice, though we're still on the fence about the front grille. My relative is waiting for the 2016's to be released later this year and then he will be buying one for his patrol car. The 2015 isn't a full redesign but it looks different enough that he wants to wait for the next MY to come out. He's dreading leaving behind his 5MT Civic but it needs to be replaced. He hasn't had an auto, ever, come to think of it..

I have 2010 LS460L with 76K miles and I hear rattle noise in from driver and passenger side. I took it to the Lexus service center and they said it's the air suspension problem and need to replace this part and would cost about $2K per suspension.
My question is is there anyway I could convert this air suspension to standard coil or gas shocks from Air suspension??
I will be using this for a Limo in NYC and the road conditions are terrible and air suspension is not going to last that long and they are expensive.
For a while now my wife has been getting a weird noise from the passenger side rear, it sounds like its right around the passenger side rear speaker area. It only happens on a hard bump or a pothole and it's kinda like a boing sound. Originally I thought that it was the trunk lid spring but I'm unable to narrow it down. I'm also aware that this is close to the rear strut.

View 5 RepliesI just purchased my first VW, a 2012 Tiguan SE in Night Blue Metallic. The level of fit and finish, handling, and general feel are miles ahead of my old '04 Jeep Liberty.
Anyway, I've had the car for about 250 miles and have noticed a clunking/rattling noise coming from what sounds like the front passenger side suspension arm. The noise is fairly quiet but seems to consistently happen when turning left over uneven pavement.
I plan on taking it to the dealer this weekend and it is only a minor annoyance, but a shame since the rest of the vehicle is so quiet and refined.
I have a 2005 NF V6 Sonata Elite - for some time now there has been a sporadic clunking noise in and around the suspension or front drivers side wheel of my car. It got a lot worse a week ago when I took the car off sealed roads for a short distance, almost sounding like a CV that had gone. However a mechanic checked the car over a few days ago and found the CV was fine, as was the driveline. It seems to clunk more when turning, and when I put the power on or off. I also detect a slight vibration or hum coming from the area concerned when taking gentle bends at moderate speed on smooth roads. I can assume the wheel bearings are fine, although the mechanic I went to perhaps isn't very familiar with the make/model of car. They went around the suspension and tightened some of the struts, which made a small improvement I think, but the car is still making the noise. What was the cause of the noise if known?

View 1 RepliesOk so I replaced my upper strut mount and my struts in the front along with the shocks in the rear.......... the squeak is still present when i go over a rougher bump and it is cold ..................SO i went on hma service and saw this...................
Symptom "Squeak or grunt-noise from the front suspension, occurs more in cold ambient temperatures-more noticeable over rough roads or when turning"
Suspect Area "Front stabilizer bar"
Remedy "Under these conditions, the noise is acceptable."
Wow so not acceptable i am going to try and lubricate this piece... Will report back
