We've been noticing that upon pulling into and out of our parking spot, there has been water puddles and upon close inspection today after pulling our car into the parking spot, I looked under and saw water dripping. This is possibly A/C-related because we are running the climate control on auto every time we drive? Our car is brand new and has about 400kms on it.
View 6 RepliesTwice now, I've felt a cold drop of water, drip onto my foot while driving the wife's new 2014 2.0T. She's never mentioned it but she also doesn't wear sandals so she may never feel it. The carpet is not wet there, so whatever it is, it's not enough to soak the floor. It was dry out so it's not rain or car wash, but I was running the AC on both occasions, but I couldn't imagine anything AC related above the drivers footwell? I'm sure the dealer will not be able to recreate the problem so I'm likely stuck dealing with it myself...
View 5 RepliesI noticed water dripping underneath my car. It's close to right front wheel. I'm pretty sure it's just water but I didn't turn AC on. I'm afraid it's from exhaust pipe.
View 4 RepliesWhy do the GT's drip water out of a little hose under the car? Condensation drain of some sort? Seems like it would be messy in a garage, though I guess it's just water, I think...
View 13 RepliesAs mentioned, water leaking (not coolant or oil) near catalytic converter, my guess this could be normal... but, the interior of the vehicle is fogging up after stopping, and of course, clears up when the front defroster goes on. No sweet smell, interior or exterior. No warning lights or codes.
View 5 RepliesI have the 3.5 V6 Automatic 2010 95k miles. I have read places that say any fluid SP-III will work, then others that say any SP-IV. To my understanding, SP-III is not correct, and the fluid will need to meet SP-IV, is this correct? (Additionally, all the auto-part stores said Mecron SP-6 which is not easy to find).
Also, I have a mystery water leak, it is solely water dripping onto the exhaust just between the firewall and the engine. This happens for about an hour after the car is shut off; its getting cold here in Germany and haven't been running the A/C so that is not the issue.
My new prius c two has been parked in the garage for 4 hours since getting home from work. I walked out a minute ago to take out the trash and it was making a humming noise, like electric humming.
View 4 RepliesCelebrating the new ride - a real solid, luxury car. Noticed a small motor racket in the garage. traced back to the rear e-brake. Start-stop and it went away. Saw plenty of threads on brake noise - experienced this problem while parked (hours later)?
View 1 RepliesI have a 2011 Toyota Camry 4 Cylinder LE. When the car has been parked for a period of time 2hours plus, I hear a noise coming from the engine right in front of the Driver Seat. The noise only happens on the first acceleration after its been parked. It only happens once.
It sounds like something moves or shifts into place.
Second dead battery in 2 years. ??? Car never sits for longer than 12 hours and no internal lights on. I have a III with Sunroof.
View 14 RepliesMy wife left her newer 2013 Prius "on" at work....by this I take to mean she did not hit the on/off button when leaving the car. to turn off the car I asked if it started ok, and she reported yes; however on return from the gym about 3 miles away, she says she noticed the Hybrid Battery bars going down very quickly now and the gas-engine on almost the whole time.
View 12 RepliesThis is the second night in a row that we hear a noise coming from the back of the car. I know that some noises are normal but this is after the car is stopped/parked in the garage for some 5 hours.
View 3 RepliesI have a 1998 VW Passat station 1.81 Turbo that has started to do something weird. After driving the car, after the car has been parked for 1-2 hours, the car's horn starts honking and the lights start flashing- all this for 20 seconds (approx). We don't have a remote clicker to the car, or after market alarm, so it is not an accidental hit on the button. This started a week ago, and was once a day, now sometimes it is 2 x a day. We purchased this car from our landlord who will buy it back at the end of our stay. We have already replaced clutch and fixed numerous oil leaks. What could cause this?
View 4 Replies1995 ranger. 132k miles. I have been having an intermittent starting problem. I replaced the battery which was 3+ years old. I thought that cured the issue because the truck started without a problem then, the same problem occurred. I started the truck and drove about 10 miles. Parked it for about 2 hrs. Went out and tries to start it. The engine cranked, but would not start.
Tried a second time and would not start.
I turned on the lights and proved the battery was good.
Tried to start it and it turned over.
I took it to a shop and they could not fine the problem.
I asked if it was a possible problem with the solenoid, alternator,
They said if it was those the engine would not turn and you would just hear a click.
They drove it for a week and it happened to their technician but he said he did not have his equipment to check it.
He got it started after a few tries as I did and got it back to the shop. Ran a scan.
Four codes returned that really did not identify the issue - P0231, P1701, P0340, P1270. They cleared the codes and drove it again. They checked the codes. It showed code P0340. The shop says the code states to replace the cam position sensor and installing an updated DPFE sensor.
I have been driving it for about a week on and the problem has not resurfaced yet. A friend whom I work with does some car maintenance told me it is a dead spot on the starter and to replace it.
I recently had my gasket replaced and 24 hours later, there were several oil leaks in my driveway and oil dripping from my 99 Toyota Corolla every time I parked. I brought it back to the shop this am since they were no open on Saturday. My question is they stated it might just be a loose filter and/or a bad filter.
View 4 RepliesI wrote about the problem I was having back in Jan 2014 (engine would crank too long if I left the car parked for 30 mins to 4 hrs) ..... well, I finally brought it o a good diagnosis tics place and some of the guys that replied to me we're correct ..... they told me that the crankshaft position sensor (1of 2 sensors) was faulty and replaced it.
View 3 RepliesEvery time we have the oil changed on our car, the car smells like cigarettes. Today I noticed smoke coming from the hood when I parked it. My husband says that it is caused by oil dripping on the engine block, that this happens to all Honda Accords, and that it is safe. Is it safe? Smoke coming from the hood seems scary. Engine oil is highly flammable, no?
View 12 RepliesOk first there was the "Creaking Dash Rattle", now comes the front seat flood! It has rained for two days and water, lots of it, comes pouring out onto my mats on the passenger side when I make a hard left turn. At least 8 ounces!!! I don't have a sunroof. My carpet and mats are soaked. After I shop vacuumed the water out I took it to the dealer...just like the dash rattle he'd never heard of this problem. I told him maybe my rubber dash rattle wedge caused the problem? He said, I'd have to bring the car back and he was going to remove the shroud? (They're just dying to break into my dash). It looks like the glove compartment is taking a leak on the passenger's carpet.
Also My Bluelink can't be registered because someone before me registered it ON MY NEW CAR...and I am starting to wonder if this was a hail damaged car improperly repaired? i.e. leaks and windshield rattle. I bought it off of the showroom floor and assumed it was new but when I drove it away I saw 200 miles on the ODO. Don't say it I know I screwed up.
On my first trip with the new Santa Fe. After 400 miles today, while just 50 miles from Vegas, the A/C blower quit working. It sounded like it was blowing as normal but almost no air was coming from the vents. Being just 50 miles out I pushed on.
After arriving home (only 98 today luckily) I turned off the car and unloaded. After about 20 minutes, I started the car and the A/C and blower seemed fine. I looked at the ground and about a pint of water (at least it looked and felt like water I did not taste it) seemed to leak after I started it from the center of the car about even with the front door. What happened? Any cause for alarm?

Wife was driving in heavy rain and noticed water dripping from above the parking brake.
When she got home took a quick look and noticed moisture around the fuse box that sits just above the parking brake.
Assume a seal somewhere is bad. Did some searching but only got hits for passenger side leaks and AC drain hose.
Next step is a trip to the dealer to diagnose.
