A friend of mine almost crashed his 2014 Santa Fe during a snow storm, his washer fluid pump stopped working and he could not see in front of him on a bridge, he could not stop on a bridge. He has been scared to death. The dealer found out that the pump was completely rusted inside and out. It should be made of stainless. not steel. The dealer told him he was not the first to report this problem.
View 5 RepliesI know I need to remove the reservoir to replace the pump but I can't get it out. I removed the storage compartment, then the bolt connecting the translucent top portion of the reservoir that connects to the front and the side bolt that connects the reservoir to the side of the truck. It is loose but I still cannot get the reservoir out.

The wipers work, and their is no blockage in the fluid lines from the tank to the nozzles. I used my compressor to blow out the lines in both directions. I've done some research, and someone said if the wipers work its not a fuse issue.
I saw a video on you tube for an older Elantra, that showed the pump behind the headlight... Does that hold true for the 2016? And if so, how do I get the headlight assembly out?
On our '06 Avalon Limited, my wife had parked the car was parked in the driveway and about 30 min later I walked by and heard that the wiper fluid pump motor was running non-stop. The only way I could get it to shut off was to loosen the fender liner and reach in and un-plug it. I'm thinking relay, but would it be that, the switch, the motor itself, where should I start and how can I tell or diagnose short of replacing them?

I need to install a new washer fluid pump. My question is what is the best way to get the old one off and the new one on? Should I go from under the wheel well? Or is there another easier way to get to it? The truck didn't come with an owners Manuel and I cant find anything about how to do this.

My washer fluid pump is not working, it was a few weeks ago but now it is broken. The Owner's Manual only has the listing fuse 33 for "cluster, 4x4, wipers". It looks like some of the older models have an actual fuse for the "washer fluid pump". I checked fuse 33 under the dash and it is ok. What fuse controls the washer fluid pump?
The pump does not make noise when activated, so I'm starting at the fuse but I don't know what the hell is going on.
I have a 2007 Santa Fe GLS. The washer fluid light came on and I filled the reservoir with a complete jug of washer fluid. When I went to use the wipers no fluid came out of the front sprayers but the back one worked until it was completely empty in a matter minutes. When I stepped out of the car, there was a big puddle fluid on my side of the car. What this most likely is. I know there are a couple different scenarios from the reservoir being cracked to the pump. But just thought it was weird that the back sprayer was working before the tank was empty and front wasn't working at all.

problem with washer fluid - the motor seems to work, but nothing comes out of the tubes...
I know the motor works, cuz there is water all over the engine compartment (near the battery) and down... soaked there...
so, my guess is that the rubber has come off the pump? where is the pump first off, and second, how do I get to all that? - just remove the cowl?
any diagrams or photos would be great!
I went to fill up my Santa Fe's tank for the first time and was only able to get about 9 gallons in. The pump shut off when the car only had about 2/3 of the tank full. I let it be, but I really don't want to be dealing with this every week. Have issues put gas in? Any tricks/tips? I do live in California which requires a lot of equipment on the pumps to prevent gas fumes from escaping. I'm not sure if that's contributing to the premature shut-off.
View 12 RepliesSo I have multiple issues that all seem to stem from a power steering leak. According to the dealership, the PS pump is leaking fluid onto the serpentine and timing belts causing them to swell. This in turn has something to do with the AC compressor not working but they wouldn't give me details. When I looked at the clutch wheels on the AC compressor, there seems to be a good amount of rust in between the two wheels. I can't say that I trust the dealership because the original owner was bought out by a larger group that is known to just say "replace everything". I usually do most of my own work on my 95 Tacoma, so I'm no stranger to import v6 motors.
View 4 RepliesThe last 3 times I have tried to fill up, I have had about 1/3 of a tank. Tthe pump runs for ~15 -20 litres and then shuts off. I cannot fill any further. I have 9/16ths in the tank now, 360km to empty. I will phone the dealer tomorrow. 42000km now.

Every time I refill the bottle, the next morning I always find the fluid under driver's side bumper on my driveway.
Recently the low windshield washer warning light came up on my dash. I rarely use it so found it weird. As I thought it was pretty full already. The warning only show up when its around 4 degree Celsius and doesn't show up when its around 10 degree.

Yesterday I added water to the bottle and heard a trickling noise as I was doing so. To my surprise the water was leaking out below the car! The bottle remains empty.
My washer fluid low light is constantly ON, even if it is 100% full. I even ordered and filled the OEM washer fluid, but no change.
After reading though a lot of forums i realized what the actual issue was. i used the crappy orange Rain-X that screwed up my washer fluid sensor, like everyone else's.
U was looking for a DIY where i can change it myself, without taking it to the dealer.
