View 24 RepliesLight came on, most likely due to colder weather. Jacked all tires up to 35psi. Now shows 2 tires low pressure. Why? What is the exact pressure to be at? Says in the car there at 29psi ....
View 8 RepliesI've read all about the 2013 model having issues with the gas gauge being off...where it would only stay on "full" for a few miles and then quickly go down. I'm having the opposite problem. My gauge is staying on "full" for forever. Right now I've driven about 80 miles and it's still on "full". I accidentally reset the "tripometer" today and then I suddenly had even more miles to empty!!!! I went from 220 to 291 MTE!! Meanwhile my gauge is still on "full"...... Only 600 miles on the car so far......
View 7 RepliesI've had my car less than 3 weeks and the past two days I woke up in the morning and found my windows to be wet with condensation inside. I felt my rear passenger floor liners and mats and they are soaking wet. It had rained a lot in the beginning of the week. What could it be?? Santa Fe 2013 2.0T ...
View 12 RepliesI've noticed that about every other time I put my SFS in reverse, the rear camera appears with no guidelines only to flash off after a few seconds and then come back on with the guidelines. Other times, it comes up right away with the guides.
What's causing this and is there any sort of fix for it?
Rear end Suspension noise, '13 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T? I purchased a new '13 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T in Sept. 2013. Shortly after I noticed the rear end of the car creaks/squeaks when the suspension compresses thru it's travel. This happens when driving over tall speed bumps at 2-3mph or into/out of steep driveways at 2-3mph. Rear end noise/squeak at anytime?
View 49 RepliesOur SFS LTD started this high pitch constant squeaking sound in the back of the hatch/cabin. We can't figure out where it's coming from. It doesn't seem to have any relation to the suspension (going over big bumps), and occurs on regular driving on flat terrain or regular street bumps/turns, city/highway...
We figure something is rubbing in the back or perhaps its due to a bulletin from the 2008 SFS (welding fix in the rear panel)?
So I picked up my new 2016 LWB loaded 6 passenger Santa Fe yesterday and I'm finding today that NONE of the heated seats are doing anything. The ventilation (fan) works, the heated steering wheel works, but all 4 seats are inoperative. Now, I'm coming from a 2014 Santa Fe Sport with the same heated and ventilated seats that worked fine, and my life has a 2015 Genesis 3.8 AWD and hers all work fine. I've checked the fuses located in the dash and those are fine.
View 2 RepliesI bought a used 2013 Santa Fe Sport 2.0T Limited in August from a Hyundai dealership near Vancouver, BC. The vehicle had fairly high mileage (95K) but had been well-cared for and I got it for a fair price.
After a few days I noticed there was a "crunching" noise coming from the rear driver's side quarter panel area when going over the u/g parking ramp into my condo. The rear seats also jiggle and rattle at moderate speeds. Didn't really notice either on my test drive before buying it, as I just went over smooth roads.
I searched this forum and found some good leads, such as the inner quarter panel being loose, rear trailing arm issues, or perhaps some faulty welds. I printed out this info. reported by other owners and brought it to the dealership.
As kind of expected, the technician each time has said he couldn't hear anything unusual. (selective hearing?) The suspension system is supposedly sound.
My friends and family members all hear this creak (under the right conditions when the rear wheels are at uneven heights)...it's not my imagination. I've taken out the styrofoam cargo support and nothing changed.
I had a loaner 2015 Santa Fe and there was no such noise.
The rear seat jiggle is also irritating. I've experimented with putting the seat backs at different angles and nothing really works.
The vehicle has about 500KM left on its 100,000KM warranty.
The key FOB and the rear gate not opening? Salesman says the button is for the rear gate only to unlock it and not open it. Need to confirm whether it is supposed to open the trunk or just unlock it?
View 27 RepliesHaving problems with the paint chipping on the rear bumper? Dealer said on the phone paint is only covered if it rusts. Will bring it in tomorrow for them to check, but I'm not getting a good feeling that they will cover it. Car has only 3500 miles on it! Bumper shouldn't be chipping like this.
View 18 RepliesI have had my Santa Fe since middle of January and have some issues with rubbing noises and popping noises from the rear of the vehicle since then. The rubbing noise has been resolved, but the popping noise appears to be more of a challenge. I have had the vehicle looked at 4 times.
The way the mechanic at the dealership explained it to me is that between the outer body panel and the inner trim panel there is a piece of sheet metal that is flexing and popping. This is most noticeable at low rates of speed and more when turning left or right.
The past two times the dealer has reposition the pieces and the noise has went way for a few days, but always returns. So today I asked if maybe there was a wield missing or what we do if the problem continues after the latest fix.
One suggestion was to fill the gap between the sheet metal and the body panel. They mentioned foam or cardboard.
2015 SFS 2.0T was oil sprayed at Krown 3 weeks ago, since then have developed a clunk in the rear end when reversing out of our driveway or at city speeds going over bumps. Google search came back with possibly oil spray on leaf springs as culprit? I have removed everything from the rear cargo area, also looked high and low, driven with hatch open and closed and also sat back there and had wife drive around....can't figure it out....
View 11 RepliesWell i picked up a 96 4x4 with the 4.0 a few weeks ago and been fixing stuff weekly that i find wrong. One thing i noticed was the rear diff was leaky but couldn't get the fill plug out so left if for now. Last night my wife was on interstate and it just started making a loud noise so she pulls over calls me. I get there and drive it and it makes a woowoowoo noise and it got louder as speed increased. She was 3 miles from the exit so i drove it about 15-20 to get it off interstate than another 2 miles to her sisters. We let it sit for a few hours and found a flatbed to haul it home, and when we finally got home i drove it off the flat bed and now it was making a loud clunky noise. Parked it in drive till today. Cracked open the rear and no fluid came out.
Inspecting all the gears looked good no metal in bottom so i went and got a new rear cover and 3 qt. of fluid. Put it back together and the woowoowoo was still there but seemed to slowly go away as i drove it around the block. So what else could be going on here or do i need to drive it and warm up the fluid so it circulates? I also noticed a sheeee sound like metal on metal when braking but i changed all 4 rotors and both pads last week but i noticed the brakes in the rear that look like drum brakes was bare but i assume that is only for the ebrake so didn't bother changing them yet. Could those be hitting the inside of the rotor and making the metal to metal noise?
I currently have the rear axle shafts off the truck. I took off, cleaned then put on the rear diff cover.
I live in an area that does nothing but form rust anywhere and everywhere in very little time.
I don't want rust forming in the rear diff gears - can I fill the rear diff up ? Or will it leak out of the rear shaft holes ? Can I fill it up halfway then ?
Today I noticed a strong burning rubber or plastic smell coming out of the right rear wheel well. All other wheel wells did not have this odour.
We had a bout of freezing temp's here recently and some snow, I'm wondering if the brake on that wheel may have seized slightly through the all wheel drives tourque vectoring or through parking brake use.
I'm going to drive it to the dealership tomorrow without making an appointment in hopes they will look at it right away as making an appointment this time of year is probably going to take forever.
Something I might be missing or can do?
I purchased a 2014 Santa Fe 2.0T last June. Has been an awesome car up until about 2 weeks ago. I started to notice a squeaky rattle sound coming from somewhere around the rear passenger door. I've tried pressing on things, checking all the door pockets and can't seem to find it. Looked at the front mud flap in front of the rear tire and it's tight. It only does it when I get above 45 MPH and is sporadic. I'm afraid the dealer won't be able to replicate the problem.
View 5 RepliesMy wife was rear shunted badly in her 2016 SantaFe - she is puzzled that the airbags did not deploy. I told her they only deploy front or side if collision hard enough in those areas - am I right ?
View 9 RepliesHas noticed a rattle when going over bumps. The rattle seems to come from the rear passenger side at moderate speeds.
View 9 RepliesI just bought a used hyundai santa fe sport 2.0t. i noticed it is fairly loud inside compared to my 2011 sonata. I don't know if im hearing tire noise or maybe a wheel bearing type noise. It's coming from the rear and gets louder as I go faster. I'll admit O am paranoid and probably making this sound worse than it is.
View 12 RepliesI own a Canadian 2013 Santa Fe sport AWD 2.0l turbo. Back in June/ July 2015 I noticed a poping / grinding noise coming from the rear of the vehicle when ever I made sharp turns under moderate acceleration. I brought my car into the dealer as it was still under warranty. They diagnosed the problem to be my viscous coupler apparently it was defective.
The part was ordered and replaced about 3 weeks later. After the warranty work was completed in still noticed a noise coming from the back end. I took my car back to the dealer. They found that the rear tires were "cupped" they recommended to get a 4 wheel alignment to solve the cupping issue.
In my past experiences tire cupping is usually caused by a worn out suspension component such as bad shocks. So to avoid conflict of interest I took my car to Canadian Tire to get the alignment checked and adjusted.
Sure enough the front wheels only were slightly out of alignment and a minor adjustment was made. No adjustments made to the rear. The technician advised me that due to the minor adjustment, the alignment would not cause my rear wheels to cup. The complete suspension was checked and no problems were found.
So...would a bad viscous coupler cause wheel cupping???
My Santa Fe had 48000kms at the time of the original noise was detected.
I do not tow a trailer or haul overloaded loads.
The majority of kilometres made Is done on highway.
The rear tires have now been rotated to the front.
