Just picked up our SFS 2.0t
does the power smart liftgate operate only when you walk away from the car. We were sitting in the car at home checking it out and my wife went out to test the smart liftgate..
Didn't work.
The power liftgate on my 2015 SF Sport will open just fine but as soon as it opens all the way, it begins to close. It doesn't always do this but recently it's happening more than not.
By the way, I do not have the liftgate set to open automatically, just power liftgate is checked on the settings.
2013 SF Sport 2.0T ... This just started a couple of days ago. Worked fine until then. Neither the proximity key near the car and pressing the liftgate release, nor hitting the fob's "trunk open" button, NOR hitting the "unlock" button on the inside door panel will unlock the liftgate! If I hit the fob or press the outside release, the parking lights flash twice, but that's IT! No "unlock" and I can't open the lift gate. (I can't see them if I hit the inside the cabin button). All other locks work as they are supposed to.

2013 ES 300h, 25K Miles
2002 GLS 2.7. Locking system has been working fine. Today while trying to load groceries through the liftgate, it would not open. Unlocked if from the key entry in the liftgate and from the front door. You can hear the locks upen but when you pull the handle, the liftgate does not unlock.

I tried putting the key in a couple metal foil bags, with no luck. My last resort will be to pull the battery out of the smart key...
Page 575 of the manual that came with my 2016 GS shows that the owner can disable the smart access system, but I cannot find the setting. It ought to be with the page of locking settings but I do not see it there.
View 3 RepliesYesterday from the smart center of Rochester, MN I bought a 2013 Smart fortwo Pure with 19k miles. This evening the Check Engine Light came on and it is code P0455.
No other dash lights are on and I have not even touched the gas cap yet. Should I clear the code? Take it to the dealer? Tow it to the dealer?
I have a 2004 Prius. Just rolled 120k today, still running like a champ, but I started having this weird issue. Whenever I walk up to the car, it opens by itself.I dont even have to put my hand on the door handle, I just get close to the drivers door and it opens, of course with the smart key in my pocket. Its only the drivers door as well. I find this a little weird plus its hard to lock the door with the black square because if I don't run out of range...it unlocks.
View 7 RepliesI have a 2007 B6 wagon with the power liftgate option and recently the closing function stopped....but the opening function continues to work! I have checked and cleaned the switch on the gate and nor change.
View 10 RepliesWe own a 2004 rx330 and a odd thing occurs on warm days. That power liftgate will not open or close with the power buttons. It will open about 2 inches and close. When completely open, the power button will not close it. Works fine on mild weather days.

As soon as the rear door reach the top position, it came back down and closed the door. First, I thought I pressed the button to close but when I tried a few more times, it was keep happening. 1) I know that Executive has keyless entry, but does it also have the remote-start feature?
2) Do 2012 Tregs show which tyre is underinflated or does TMPS just show a general warning that tyres are running low?
3) Does 2012 Treg have a power liftgate and if so, can it be opened/closed with the keyfob?
4) Do 2012 Tregs now come with the backup camera or is it still not available due to the parts supply shortage?
The issues are related to the air conditioning and door locks...very very strange. I did a DATC diagnostic and the only code I got was 12 65.
Here is the issue... When the car is started and AC is on, it will blow cold air for a while. While driving, at some points the AC will start to blow hot air and the power windows will not operate...the door locks seem to be making a clicking sound, according to my father.
We have had the dealer check the car and all they did was replace a cooling wall or something for $500+....a complete waste and no fix. We have taken it back to the dealer twice and they cannot isolate the issue.
I did the DATC diagnostic twice this morning and reset the system (cold booted) by pressing the defrost button. Once completed the system rebooted and blew out a puff of air.....I did the diagnostic again and when done hit defrost...same puff of air. Again, the only code it threw out as 12 65 - which I am not sure is valid for this car.
As the title states, I need to know where that damn switch/sensor that tells the car that the rear hatch is open. Since I got the car, the hatch has been wonky at best when trying to close that hatch via the button. I figured it was going to need a new switch, however I just noticed something today.
I opened the hatch and the rear dome light came on. Pressed the button and it closed no problem. I opened it again a few minutes later and the light never came on. Tried to close it with the button again and it didn't work. And then it all made sense. The sensor that tells the car that the hatch is open is either gummed up or just needs replacing. So where exactly is this thing?
I have an 02' F-350 XLT, now and then when I start the truck, the power windows fail to operate, so far after a few seconds, 30 or so (more or less)they have always started working, has happened now 4-5 times since 9/15 purchase of the truck. What could be causing this issue ? Other then that the windows seem to operate normal, and the power locks have always worked at each time the windows don't .

View 10 RepliesWe have a 14' Santa Fe 2.0 Turbo that has lost power several times upon coming to a stop. The vehicle will lose the "D" in the gear selector window in the cluster, a yellow triangle light will come on, and we lose all gear selector lights on the shifter in the center console. The vehicle will stop fine but upon throttle, power is extremely sluggish and then braking is limited as well. The car will limp in this mode until we stop the vehicle and reset with an ignition cycle. We might go a month in between occurrence. Looking for similar incidents and fixes if any. Vehicle off to dealer this week. Hopefully it has a hard code stored.
View 1 RepliesI purchased my 2013 SF 2.0 Turbo SE in August 2013. Up until then, I was a long time Toyota owner. I've very satisfied with the SF, except I've been having an intermittent issue since I bought the vehicle.
Maybe 3-4 times a month, out of the blue, when I making a left hand turn, there is a hesitation when I press the accelerator. The hesitation lasts for about a second or so, but when there's traffic coming at you while you're making the left turn, it can be quite scary and the second feels like forever!
The hesitation feels like there is absolutely no power and the engine will stall. It never does. I've had it back to the dealer/garage for diagnostics several times but they can't seem to find anything wrong. And they keep charging me for the diagnostics! This occurs in ECO mode and non-ECO mode.
I have 2009 Toyota Avalon Limited, the switch on the master power switch that operate the passenger side won't work. Can the master switch be repaired? This is a power window switch.
View 8 RepliesI recently had my rear window (liftgate) broken. The glass has been replaced but, now I cannot open the liftgate!! I know some of the glass fell down into the door. My thoughts are, maybe some glass jammed the mechanism? Is there anyway to open that door without breaking it?
