New sfs 2.0t with tech pkg. There's one spot In my town when I drove through, just a normal empty street, and the radio dies and a loud 4 tone alarm starts for about 5 seconds. Same road, does it about 25 ℅ of the time, real stumper. No indications on dash or radio.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 F-150. Recently, I have heard an alarm like tone for five seconds or so after cranking up. Often, this sounds immediately after cranking up but sometimes, it happens a few minutes after cranking up. There is no light that accompanies it on the instrument panel and the sound stops after sounding for a few seconds and does not recur until the engine is started another time. What this might be?
View 3 RepliesI have a 2013 Santa Fe, 2.2 Diesel AWD and have recently experienced this popping sound. The sound is normally noticed within seconds of switch off the engine and is loud enough to make people jump with surprise. When I originally complained I was told this was normal ... nonsense I said as having owned vehicles from various manufacturers(Nissan, SAAB, Renault, VW, Chrysler, Mazda, Lexus) over the last 25year I've never experienced anything like this. Car is back in for a 90K klm service and repeated my complaint - lets see what happens. To me this is coming from the catalytic converter and when I look at the box underneath the car it has numerous bump/dents on it yet has never been offroad.

The lights work great but one BIG issue.
I cannot lock my car because after 3 seconds my alarm starts going off. Also whenever I start my car it chirps at me regardless if the alarm has gone off yet.
My car is currently on the road unlocked.
My car has the same issue, its a 2001 santa 2.4 . Its starts and then shut off after 3 seconds. camshaft was replaced twice already. still same issue, die after 3 seconds. everything seems to be fine.
What about fuel pressure at the rails? If the pump runs for a moment when the key is turned to the on position then when cranking it stops. That would let the engine start and run for about three seconds. Could it be the ignition switch?
My beloved Hyundai Santa Fe,2006 model's engine light came up. The engine starts and than about 10 seconds after cuts out straight away. What to do. I have always taken care of this car and being serviced well.

-When i turn on headlights, the alarm tone inside the car does not go off. I drive the car home with this noise inside the car.
Every time my car alarm goes off, the horn sounds like a clown car. The kids on my 10 year old baseball team even joke about it--its that bad. So, is it just me or are y'all embarrassed when the alarm goes off?

I've isolated this rattle down to the cam phaser( CVVT) in the right cylinder head. It rattles bad for 2-3 secs on cold start or after it sits for 3 hours.
I've put in 5w20 synthetic oil and synthetic Lucas additive and it cleared up the noise for short interval start ups.
I changed the cam phaser in the right head with a used one ( 40k ) but it didn't make a difference. I should change out the attaching cam as well.
On the wifes Santa Fe 2.4 AWD every few starts it seems to crank over longer than it should. It will usually crank right up like it is supposed to. Every few times it may take 3-4 seconds of cranking before it will fire.
The car runs great, averages over 30mpg per the computer. No codes. I don't have a clue what it could be.
Winter is coming and I often leave the car running in the morning when stopping a few minutes to drop off the kids, etc. (otherwise it all fogs up and I need to wait a few minutes again before I can leave).
Issue is, when the santa fe engine is running, if I close the door, the car beeps for like 5 seconds, every time I close a door. (Close my door, beepppp, get the kid, beeeeeepppppp, get the bag, beeeepppppppppp) and then, I cant lock the doors so I have to leave the car unlocked after it has beeped 3x 5 seconds to alert anyone around that the doors are unlocked and that it's still running.
Hyundai is supposed to install my remote starter next week, which at least will fix the issue of being unable to leave the car running with the doors locked, but the beeping all the time is REALLY ANNOYING. I KNOW THAT MY CAR IS STILL RUNNING. Dealer is telling me they cant disable the beep.
Purchased a new 2.0T Santa Fe this weekend. While driving it home from the dealership noticed a loud wind noise between 60-80mph. We took it back to the dealership within 30 minutes and talked to the service manager. They put us in a loaner Genisis and said they would take the front end apart and see where the noise was coming from. The dealership called back this morning and said they can't figuer out what/where the noise is coming from but they do agree it is a wind noise.. They are offering to swap the vehicle out with another one next week when it is delivered. High pitched noise while driving on the freeway?
View 387 RepliesThis happened last year right at the end of winter and than stopped during summer, just started back up today, just so we have all the info- my airbag light in cluster comes on and airbag off light come on above radio and both turn off. Once the truck is started a very loud ear piercing single tone comes from under dash (130 dB at least) this can range from 5-30 seconds depending on how cold it is outside.
View 10 RepliesOn a recent trip to the service dept, I mentioned that the steering wheel makes a loud clicking noise anytime it's turned, the service guy said "it's normal and supposed to do that it's a spring"... Really? I find it hard to believe that Hyundai would make us listen to this annoying sound all the time.

I don't know if the sensors on the right front are not working or if the sensitivity there is decreased, or if I'm just not getting too close to anything on the right front (don't think so).
View 2 RepliesI have a loud noise coming from the passenger side of the engine, on my 2014 Santa Fe Sport 2,4 with less than 6000 km L. My buddy said it was a lifter. Last night, my brother-in- law, a qualified mechanic, who is the fixed operations manager at a Hyundai dealership said it is ''piston slap'' and that they had already changed two engines this year for this.
I had the mechanic listen to the noise 2 weeks ago when in for my first oil change but Blondie said it was the fuel injection system...
I have the car in storage for the winter, and from time to time i will go out and start it. I also hook up one of those automatic battery tenders every so often to make sure that my battery doesn't die completely. I bought the car about 3 months ago, and when i bought it, i could tell within seconds that the car needed a new battery. I will buy one and install it as soon as i am ready to start driving it again. So thats the background story.
My problem is this.... for some reason, with no regularity, the alarm just starts going off. Sometimes it will go off shortly after i ran the car, sometimes it will go off when the car has been completely undisturbed for days. Im wondering what is causing this. I have read things about the sensors having trouble with moisture, but i don't think that is the problem because it has been inside the garage for over 2 months.

Key fob has not worked for awhile so I use the physical key to lock and unlock the door. I locked the doors when I went to the movies last night come out and unlocked the doors as I always do, Get in and start my car and the alarm starts going off.
So of course I have a little freak out moment after about 30 seconds it went off. So I turn the car off and start it again same thing happened. I say screw it and drive it and the alarm shuts off once more.
I did notice when I got home and turned the car off the red light by the drivers side door lock knob was blinking.
I have looked all over the place and everything that I read says the car won't start. My car starts and drives just fine it's just when I first start it the alarm goes off for about 30-45 seconds.
My 2005 Prius is 6 and a half years old and I have encountered a problem with an outside alarm that is one beep about 2 seconds long. I have checked my manual and I have found two possibilities, but, they don't seem to apply. Last week was the first time I had to go in and reset my maintenance needed reminder because my service station forgot to reset it after the last oil change. I am afraid in the severel attempts to do this I might have reset something else as well!
The outside 2 second beep occurs when the car is in my garage and the car is NOT locked. It also only occurs if I am outside of the car and have the key fob with me. It happens with either key fob near the car. If I lock the car I don't have a problem. It is as if everytime I come near the car with my key fob that it is reminding me that the car is unlocked.
Just finished putting a hydraulic cooling fan on my wife's 01 LS V8 when I try to start it , it starts then shuts off after a few seconds. Do I need to reset the computer? If I do, how do I do it.
