2013 SFS 2.0T.... Rear hatch locks/unlocks good. When opening hatch illumination light will NOT turn on. Yet I can manually turn it on (switch by the light itself). It will stay on forever if in that "mode".
Front passenger/driver light unit was replaced under warranty. Just recently noticed it that rear hatch light issue...
I hope I'm just missing a switch (and I did check the owner's manual but found nothing). Picked up a 2017 Santa Fe 2.0T SE AWD today. Traded in my 2013 2.0T AWD which I drove for 148,000 kms without a single problem. Not the case so far with the newbie. Took it out tonight and although I had the dash brightness set to max all that was lit up was the touchscreen radio/phone screen and the screen where the temperature displays. No buttons were lit up like they would have been in the 2013 or like they are in my daughter's Elantra GLS. Is there a setting or switch I need to adjust? Or is it more likely a fuse? Or even a wiring/sensor issue?

View 27 RepliesSuddenly, I cant open the rear hatch on my Santa Fe Highlander. It seems to be electrical actuated. Anyway it is stuck shut. Key fob, nothing seems to allow it to open.
View 2 RepliesOur SFS LTD started this high pitch constant squeaking sound in the back of the hatch/cabin. We can't figure out where it's coming from. It doesn't seem to have any relation to the suspension (going over big bumps), and occurs on regular driving on flat terrain or regular street bumps/turns, city/highway...
We figure something is rubbing in the back or perhaps its due to a bulletin from the 2008 SFS (welding fix in the rear panel)?
I noticed the turn signal light on the passenger side and mirror staying on. Wether it's started or off. Locked or unlocked. Don't know what the issues could be. Front one not on though
At the dealer now. I have 600 miles on it so I'm assuming it will be warranty covered.
Having problem with the rear hatch on their 2007 2.0T Wagon rear hatch opening by itself? I have had it happen twice now, once in the garage and this am I woke up and it was open in the driveway.
I also seem to be having an issue with the passenger window when I close it, it sometimes gets to the top and then starts to go down again.
Will rear hatch not open with switch or key? How do you get the rear panel off with the hatch closed? Seen a few threads about this problem but no real details on how to pop it off.
View 6 RepliesI've been having an issue with my hatch not opening the first several times I press the unlock button on the remote. For reference it's the car door unlock button I'm pressing, not the hatch one as that one has never done anything when I've pressed it.
I thought it was due to the faulty rear view camera I had installed (the emblem pops out) but I just got a new one installed 2 days ago and it's doing the same thing. It's gotten so bad I've had to go open the drivers door and press unlock from inside there to get it open.
I'm wondering if there is a problem with the latch getting stuck or something. I've never had it not close all the way or anything like that which I hear is more common than the issue I'm having. I will take a pic of the pin in the trunk that I'm talking about.
I was busy playing with my license plate lights over the weekend and came across how to reduce the beep volume when opening the rear hatch when using the remote or indash power door button. I'm not sure if this has been discovered before but thought I would post in case no one knows about it.
I have done this mod on my car and I haven't had any adverse effects and everything works perfectlyfine (no new lights, errors or anything else). It doesn't get rid of the noise, but it does reduce it down to the same volume as when you unlock/lock your car. Open your rear power door
Carefully pry away the bottom section of the interior panel of the rear door (this will be the side furthest away from the rear window glass). The trim is held in place by plastic clips that will pop out. A gentle but firm tug will remove the first one and the rest will just follow as you work your way around.
Once this is open look on the end side of the door. You will notice a black box with one end being rounded. There will be a plug that fits into this. Remove the plug and stow away. I stowed mine back behind the part of the loom it extends from to keep it out the way
Put the trim back and enjoy that annoying beep now being a lot quieter. The rest of the beep is at the front of the car and looks to hide somewhere underneath the shroud of the wiper blades where the front struts sit. It looks to be from the same area as the speaker for the alarm, so probably won't be able to completely kill the noise.
We have a 2007 Santa Fe ,when it rains there is a big wet spot in cargo area, we see water dripping in from overhead light by hatch door, so what to be done to rectify problem ...
View 3 RepliesI was on the way home tonight and I noticed the driver side HID headlight turn off after putting my turn signal on.
I have LED DRL fog lights installed and they're wired with no relay and plugged into the Engine Compartment fuse box. The installer connected them on the left side (where the wires come in, from the two black components by the air filter).
Could this wiring setup be interfering with the HID's?
I checked my rx350 battery health and it is good. Still I am having recurrent issues when battery dies. And needs a restart. It happened many times and last one just happened this morning and I have feeling that this is related to rear hatch door...let me explain what happened:
Yesterday evening I went for grocery shopping and opened the rear hatch door using my car key remote, kept the groceries and closed the rear hatch using the button on the bottom of rear hatch door. I drove back to home and parked the vehicle in the garage. This morning I opened the rear hatch again and closed it, drove it to a house one block away, returned home and parked the car.
When I tried to start 1 hour later, the battery had already died. So, I have a feeling that opening and closing the rear hatch door 3 times caused this battery drain.
Can I disable unlocking of all the doors when I open the rear hatch from the outside? I figured out that if I use my fob, the doors does not unlock.

View 14 RepliesI have had my 2013 Santa Fe Sport exactly one month. Before I drove it off the dealer's lot the Navigation system was dead and would not turn on. The salesman could not get it turned on either. So he drove the car into the service bay, shut off the engine, opened the door and had a service writer come to the car. They got in the car and the unit worked. The same thing happened again 30 days later. I pulled off the road, turned off the engine. Waited a few moments and restarted the engine. Still dead. I turned off the engine again, opened the door and waited 30 seconds. Got back in and started the car and it worked fine. I talked to the dealer about this and they have no knowledge of the issue.
View 16 RepliesI could not find a picture of the 2013+ SFS headlight harness connector. I'm trying to wire a 6 ohm resistor across the turn signal as my LED upgrade is causing the fast flash problem(I expected this). The only place I can tap into that circuit is probably the headlight harness, preferably through the connector. I tried to measure the voltage on the connector, but the contact is too small and narrow for the probe to make physical contact. I even tried to put a cutout paper clip into those tiny holes, but still no dice. The wire colors are different between driver and passenger side, and the Sonata forum was indicating it is the top right corner for the positive lead of the turn signal. Which wire is the + & - for the turn signal.

I went out into the garage last night and noticed the Santa Fe brake lights were on. No other lights, just the right, left, and the upper brake lights. I tapped the brake pedal several times, I started the car and put it through a couple gear changes, turned the other lights on and off, but the brake lights remained on.
The brake lights would get a little brighter when the pedal was pushed. The brake lights would also flicker once in awhile. I'm thinking a short somewhere so I have disconnected the battery until I can call the dealer tomorrow.
The only thing I have added to this car is a Curt Hitch and wire plug (plug and play, no splicing). This was more than 6 months ago and there has been no problems.
I have a 2013 Santa Fe with a 2.0T. A couple of days ago, I heard a squealing noise when I make a sharp turn to the left, like maybe a power steering belt would do. This has continued and I have also noticed that the AC fan almost completely dies at the same time. Car has 6,000 miles.
