Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: Front Passenger Door Lock / Unlock Not Responding To Remote
Jul 6, 2016
I've 2014 Santa Fe Sport 2.4 AWD. From past few days my Front Passenger Door Lock/Unlock is not responding when i try to open via remote lock/Unlock buttons. All other door locks are working fine. I googled and found some issues with door actuators.

I recently bought a used 2013 passat and one day noticed that my front passenger door wouldn't unlock with the remote. All other doors unlocked, but not that one. I opened it from the inside and it unlocked, but then it wouldn't lock with the remote or the lock button. I tried the usual troubleshooting techniques (repeating the steps over and over, giving puzzled glances, long stares) but those didn't work. I did notice that on the edge of the door, next to the lock mechanism, was a small rectangular hole the same size/shape as my key. I was pretty awesome at the shapes game growing up, so I immediately jumped at putting the object in the hole of matching shape. Sure enough, the key went in. I was able to turn it and when I did, the door started locking and unlocking normally.
I went through the manual (contrary to the stereotypes about men) but couldn't find this particular "feature" or why my car would have it or need it.

When I use the remote to lock/unlock the doors the drivers side door won't activate . . . .unless it's really cold outside. The other 3 doors work year round.
Sounds weird but as the weather gets colder the lock on the drivers door will start to work. As winter turns to summer here in Illinois it starts to act up again. When it does work, it seems that unlocking works more consistently than locking.
Asked the dealer to have a look at it. They said it was a "weak actuator motor" and suggested to replace it. Sounds bogus to me.
I've tried to have a look down there but I'm afraid to take it all apart for fear I won't be able to get it all back together. Are there adjustments that can be made to the linkage or are lubrication points that might get this thing back working again . . . . . . all year long?
I also noticed that manually working the passenger side lock will lock the rear doors but won't lock the drivers door so it's not the remote. I never paid attention to whether manually working the driver side lock would lock the other doors but I think not since the buttons are right there on the drivers door.

Have the door locks start to lock and unlock while driving / We have a 2015 Santa Fe sport and when the locks start locking and unlocking by themselves the door lock controls are inop until you stop and shut the key off.

Here is what is happening, if I press the unlock and lock button on remote or from any switch in the car , the front passenger door will not unlock! all of the doors will lock and unlock, except the front passenger dorr will not unlock only, it does lock, just not unlock, i think it may be a bad motor or actuator, I am sure it will be covered under the CPO warranty, especially since its only been less than 1 week since i had it.

2007 Prius here. A few months ago I had a similar problem. Basically when putting my hand on the door sensor, the doors would cycle through unlocking (noise, lights flash etc) without actually unlocking. If I keep pulling the handle after each attempt it seems to go forever.
The front passenger door also did not lock under any circumstance.
Took it into Toyota, they absolutely screwed me I now realize, $900 to replace a door actuator in that passenger door.
Worked fine for a few weeks. Then all of a sudden, problem started again. Just like last time, slowly slowly over the course of 2 months, it got worse and worse until today I could not open the driver side front or rear door at all.

Picked up my new sport today and when I got home I noticed the vehicle wouldn't lock correctly with the key fob. After messing around for a few here's what I found. It's the passenger door. If the passenger door is shut the key fob and lock/unlock switch will not lock and unlock the door. I can only unlock the door manually.
Now, if the passenger door is open the key fob and lock/unlock switch will lock and unlock the door. All other doors work as expected.

Lock seems to be stuck. I have to use the key. Other doors unlock with the remote once I have opened driver door with key. It is a 1998 Honda CRV with 103,692 miles in good shape. This problem may occur on all types of cars. Can it be repaired...

1) This is not battery problem, because smart function is work. If battery dead , smart function complete dead, and I change 2 new battery.
2) sometime smart fob can remote lock door. but 99% is not work. I don't know why.

Driver's power door lock will sometimes not lock with remote when outside car. The lock button will only move part way towards being locked but not enough to lock the door. The same is true when the inside master lock is pressed to lock all doors. The driver's door lock will only move part way. When returning to car, remote will unlock all doors except driver's door. This happens about half the time. i.e sometimes the remote will lock/unlock ALL doors and sometimes all doors except the driver's door.

These frigid WI temps are horrible. I did end up washing my car last weekend because it was full of salt. This morning I pressed the lock on my remote 2 times, nothing happened. Normally the horn sounds off once and the lights flash. I seen the lights flash, but there was no sound coming from the horn..........frozen locks? I came home after work and tried it again. Works fine now.

Some background: New remotes programmed worked a month then stopped working, toyota dealer got it working for a month but only worked within 3 feet of door. Now not working at all. Could it be receiver for remote in the car? Where is it? How to fix?

I have a 2005 excursion with about 112,000 miles and last week all 5 doors decided to stop working on me when trying to lock or unlock with the remote or the door switch. I do hear a sound like something is happening just right of the fuse box. I did a little research and found that this is a wide spread problem. I did order 4 of the 5 actuators and I replaced the drivers door but nothing yet. Do they all have to be replaced in order to work? Or is it most likely something else causing this? Just trying to figure it out before I install the other actuators or take it in to a shop.

Over the past month, I've started to notice a rattling noise/ticking coming from the front passenger door/"B" pillar area of the SFS. More so on bumpier roads... so I'm sure something has come loose somehow....

My MKV R32 is door-addled...
Sometimes the symptoms are: passenger door won't lock or unlock electronically, opening from outside in "locked" state sets off alarm. Fob will reset it.Other times the symptoms are: passenger door will lock electronically but won't unlock electronically, so have to use lever from inside to let passengers in. Intermittently broken in one way or the other. Windows and the rest still work. This happens whether using the fob or the internal controls. Annoying! I'm told there is a door electronics module that needs some re-soldering perhaps...

My son used my Santa Fe this afternoon, and when he came home the fob would not lock or unlock doors. Additionally, the door lock button in the car will not work-I had to manually lock all the doors. Car starts. Am I missing something?

This afternoon the Passenger door lock would not unlock, with switch, key fob or door pad,you can hear it and the lock rod moves a little but will not unlock. Now it won't lock or unlock, you can hear the actuator and see the lock rod move a little but it just won't get there. Should I get a part in hand before I tear into it or could it be a easy fix with no parts. 2002 Ex XLT 4X4
