Santa Fe (DM - 2013+) :: 2017 - Day / Night Light Sensor Location
Nov 2, 2016
Where the Day / Night light sensor is located on the 2017 SFS? I am looking for more control regarding the brightness of the dashboard illumination.

View 5 RepliesI hope I'm just missing a switch (and I did check the owner's manual but found nothing). Picked up a 2017 Santa Fe 2.0T SE AWD today. Traded in my 2013 2.0T AWD which I drove for 148,000 kms without a single problem. Not the case so far with the newbie. Took it out tonight and although I had the dash brightness set to max all that was lit up was the touchscreen radio/phone screen and the screen where the temperature displays. No buttons were lit up like they would have been in the 2013 or like they are in my daughter's Elantra GLS. Is there a setting or switch I need to adjust? Or is it more likely a fuse? Or even a wiring/sensor issue?

View 1 RepliesMy SF Sport, Eco mode loves to shift up to 6th as fast as possible. I understand that is to give me the best possible fuel efficiency. However, when I happen to be cruising at 70 kmh, the RPM is roughly around 1350 and feels very sluggish - almost like it's too low. I will often shift down to 5th manually at which point, it "sounds" right and the sluggishness goes away. Is there a mechanism to reprogram the gears (my Hyundai dealer?)
View 15 RepliesPicked up my new sport today and when I got home I noticed the vehicle wouldn't lock correctly with the key fob. After messing around for a few here's what I found. It's the passenger door. If the passenger door is shut the key fob and lock/unlock switch will not lock and unlock the door. I can only unlock the door manually.
Now, if the passenger door is open the key fob and lock/unlock switch will lock and unlock the door. All other doors work as expected.
My previous cars with adaptive cruise control didn't do this, but when the vehicle brakes itself, there is a very loud click. I'm assuming it's normal operation, but figured I'd ask here anyways.
View 1 RepliesWinter is coming and I often leave the car running in the morning when stopping a few minutes to drop off the kids, etc. (otherwise it all fogs up and I need to wait a few minutes again before I can leave).
Issue is, when the santa fe engine is running, if I close the door, the car beeps for like 5 seconds, every time I close a door. (Close my door, beepppp, get the kid, beeeeeepppppp, get the bag, beeeepppppppppp) and then, I cant lock the doors so I have to leave the car unlocked after it has beeped 3x 5 seconds to alert anyone around that the doors are unlocked and that it's still running.
Hyundai is supposed to install my remote starter next week, which at least will fix the issue of being unable to leave the car running with the doors locked, but the beeping all the time is REALLY ANNOYING. I KNOW THAT MY CAR IS STILL RUNNING. Dealer is telling me they cant disable the beep.
Purchased a 2017 santa fe sport limited back in april 2016.
It's been great but since day one the front and rear driver side doors have retained water after rain/snow.
When I open the doors, water just gushes out from the door panel holes along the door, and it's now become an issue because of winter.
The water freezes and door become hard to open, as well as the added weight to the door and condensation that may end up rusting parts...
My dealer took the car for 3 days and took it apart, but said they couldn't find out why water is being retained, and only released when I open the doors...
I'm not too sure what to do, Hyundai Canada denies the issue, and I do have lots of video footage and frozen pictures...
I am trying to replace the coolant temperature sensor for the electric fan on a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe with a 3.3 engine but can't find it on the engine.
View 2 RepliesMy santa fe is throwing a vss code. I was trying to replace it but was not sure exactly where it was. Is it the one right under the air filter box or is that a crankshaft position sensor or some other one?
View 12 RepliesWhere exactly is the temperature sender/sensor is located?
View 3 RepliesMy 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe V6 is giving out a P0118 code, and the "freeze-frame" data reports a -40F for the coolant temperature. That doesn't make sense so perhaps the sensor is faulty or perhaps the sensor connector is loose?
I'd like to take a look at the coolant temperature sensor but I cannot find it. I have scoured hmaservice, hyunda-forums but all the various pics are still not clear enough for me to actually find the sensor. I have seen all the online pics from Hyundai but I can't get my head around exactly where the sensor is - the pics are either too zoomed in or so many things have been disconnected for the purposes of taking the picture I can't get my bearings.
My Santa Fe indicated P0715 for input speed sensor problem. I purchased both sensors and based on forum input I removed the air box and battery to access senors. Output speed sensor is easy to see and access. I am having a problem locating the input sensor. I see wires going to a sensor under both the main wiring harness and shift cable. Is that the location of the input sensor? If so how do you move the wiring harness and shift cable to allow access? If not, where is the input speed sensor located? The Santa Fe is 2001 V6 2.7L.
View 8 RepliesI have an 04 gx with a check engine light on I had the code read at auto zone. That tells me o2 sensor bank 2 sensor 1. I have already changed the sensor they said it was and still have the code. What is the correct location of this sensor?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2013 Elantra GLS. Several times in the middle of the night the alarm that sounds when the door is locked just starts chirping randomly. Why that is?
View 10 RepliesSo far three times this week the factory alarm went off in the middle of the night. This happened before and the problem just went away. I have pulled the fuse for the horn so I can at least get some sleep.
How to troubleshoot this? Bringing it to the deal will be useless since I can't duplicate the problem.
This is an 08 Santa Fe limited edition.
I recently purchased a 3.5 V6 Santa fe. The Check engine light keeps going on. I took it to a few shops and I am getting the same code. It is the O2 sensor in bank one. (I think the the code was po170.) The light keeps going on and off. All I can find are the same problems with different Santa Fe engines (2.7, etc. )... My SUV has 100,050 miles on it.
View 1 RepliesI recently installed takeoff 2017 factory 18" wheel/tire combo on my 2008 F250 to replace the 17" steelies. Didn't even know it had a TPMS system. Light never came on in 10 years of driving. After installing and airing up to 70psi, the TPMS warning light came on. Checked pressures, all good. I'm guessing that the new 18's have different sensors than the 2008 17's. 08 has the rim mounted green rectangular style. Don't know what the 2017's are as the tires were never taken off the rims. What do I have to do to get the new sensors to work?
View 8 RepliesHaving this problem with the tire sensor light? It's been back to the dealer three times now, and always comes right back on.
View 40 RepliesI have an 2004 Santa Fe and im having some Mass Air Flow Sensor problems but I dont know what's wrong. My engine light came on for the second time after awhile. And I got it checked for the code and of course it was my sensor again. The first time I just giggled it around and the light went off. I did the same thing today with giggling it again went off. So I feel like it might be a loose connection but I really hope it isn't failing because im pretty sure that's uber expensive to fix.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2009 Santa Fe SE. When it is parked in the driveway a red flashing light is seen coming from the driver's side dashboard light sensor. I've searched the owner's manual and can't find anything about what it means. What it is?
