I had a flat tire and used the spare. I took my 2007 santa fe in to the shop to get the tire replaced and an oil change. The 'shop' put the spare back where it belongs.
Now my keyless entry locks the doors (audible) but does not flash the lights or honk the horn. The lights flash when unlocking and when pressing the panic button. It all worked correctly when I dropped it off at the 'shop'. What to look for?
Is it possible to change the honking confirmation when locking the car, to the "chirp" like on the newer CC's? I think its a much classier sound.
View 5 RepliesI have a 2010 Prius IV and set the doors to all unlock when I touched the driver's door handle. Annoyingly, now when I touch the raised spot on the handle (either driver or passenger side) to lock all the doors the car does the beep but also briefly toots the horn. The horn also toots when I touch the handle to unlock.
My old 2005 Prius VI just did the beeping (which my neighbors and I can live with) but the addition of a honking horn, however brief, is pretty annoying. I can't seem to find a place to disable this unwanted feature...
I purchased a NEW 2008 Hyundai Keyless Remote on the internet. It didn't come with programming instructions. How to program this remote.
View 15 RepliesMy car horn starts honking and the lights start flashing, spontaneously. The neighbors are going to kill me if I don't die of sleep deprivation first. The problem started a few minutes after 6 a.m. yesterday, and stopped when I turned the car on I left the car running in the driveway (illegally) and then cut it off after about 30 minutes, and all was quiet until around 8:45 a.m., when it started again. The only way I can get it to stop is to press the UNLOCK button on the car's remote; but that doesn't make it quit for good, sometimes only makes it quit for a few seconds.
Anyway, I drove the car to work and it was nice and quiet all day. (I went by the mechanic's on the way to work and had to set an appt. for Monday but I don't think I can stand it until then. This morning the honking/flashing began at 1:52 a.m. I pushed the remote. It stopped until 2:08. It kind of went like that until I finally started up the car. It is now emitting carbon and I am a zombie. What can I disable or override until a mechanic can take care of this? Is it a mechanical problem? A goofed-up sensor? Is this tied to a computer chip problem?
I have a 1998 VW Passat station 1.81 Turbo that has started to do something weird. After driving the car, after the car has been parked for 1-2 hours, the car's horn starts honking and the lights start flashing- all this for 20 seconds (approx). We don't have a remote clicker to the car, or after market alarm, so it is not an accidental hit on the button. This started a week ago, and was once a day, now sometimes it is 2 x a day. We purchased this car from our landlord who will buy it back at the end of our stay. We have already replaced clutch and fixed numerous oil leaks. What could cause this?

View 5 RepliesI have a 2009 Sante Fe Sport 3.3; that recently just started locking itself. The way i knew was because the horn kept going off as if we were pushing the lock button on the keyfob a bunch of times. Well the keyfob wasn't being pushed and the only way I could get it to stop beeping was to hold the unlock button on it. I thought it was the battery dying on the keyfob but I took it out and the car continued to beep. We are taking it in to the service department tomorrow. The only was I can stop the madness is if I have the door partially open, to break the circuit (I would imagine)
View 16 RepliesI have a 2011 Santa Fe 3.5L automatic with AWD. I have had a issue with the traction control indicator locking up. The traction control light on the dash goes on and cannot be canceled by the on/off control. It will reset when the engine is turned off and restarted. It is my understanding that the indicator should be lit when the system is actively meeting a traction control issue.
The dealer has performed service on the vehicle twice for this issue, and on a recent trip the system triggered again. It has engaged and locked on dry surfaces during a moderate turn while accelerating (merging from exit ramp). I have seen it engage under slippery conditions (snow... we live in Wisconsin) while turning and then return to normal once the conditions are stable.
My concern is that since the traction control affects braking in order to achieve stability under unusual conditions, that the possibility exists for a malfunction under braking conditions that might cause more problems than it solves.
2012 Santa Fe - is there anyway to lock the doors remotely when the key is in the ignition & car running?
View 2 RepliesI'm a new owner of a Santa Fe 07. My car will not completely lock with the remote. I have to remember to manually check it if the alarm doesn't beep. All the other doors will lock except this one door behind the driver. My model is AWD, it the 7 passenger one . It's not the base model. I didn't have the hard copy of the manual but I have a digital copy. We just got this on 4/24/15. It has 90 warranty but don't think they will fix this issue that I thought was only the childproof lock mechanism somehow or was not a big deal but now I'm not so sure.
View 9 RepliesI have a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and over the last 3 weeks I have been having a lot of trouble with my door locks. One thing is my automatic lock that happens when you hit 14mph, every time I hit 14mph my doors sound like they are locking 4 times, and every time I stop and take off again they sound like they are locking 4 more times. It is driving me crazy. Another issue I am having is my back passenger side door doesn't always unlock with the FOB or the button on the driver door, it has to manually be unlocked.

View 5 RepliesWhen we parked our Camry tonight and went to lock the doors with the fob we got the long continuous beep like a door was open but they were all closed. The door ajar light was on. I got in and turned on the ignition and the light went out. Interior lights went out. I then turned the car off took out the key out and the dash door light went back on, the overhead lights went on also. The doors open with the fob after locking with the internal lock. The key light follows these other two. So three lights the dash overhead and key are affected. There is no 15 sec time out but the 20 minute time out seems intact.
With the car running the lights do the right thing. The dash indoor indicator goes off the overhead and key dim to off. I can open a door the door ajar light comes on with the overhead lights. Is there a relay I should be looking to identify?
So, I was over rearranging some stuff at the self-storage unit the other day and was getting warm, so I took off my coat, with the Treg keys in the pocket, and tossed it through the open driver's side window. Inadvertently pressed up against the door lock button in the handle and guess what....the doors locked, contrary to what is supposed to happen, or not happen that is, that being that the doors are not supposed to lock with the button when the keys are in the car! Good thing the window was down!

I've recently purchased an off-lease 2007 Sonata and have the following question about the keyless entry. When I unlock the doors I notice that there is a short flashing of parking lights, however when locking the doors with the remote there is no indication.
I believe the manual says there ought be a short chirping which I am not hearing. The remote is just for keyless entry (no alarm is present). While this may be related, I find the horn sound is not very robust (actually quite puny). Is this normal for this car?
2008 GLS AWD, 2.7L w/ 66500mi. This happened on my way home from work this AM. Vehicle cold started normally, but I noticed a stumble as I idled out of my parking spot after a 12hr shift. All gauge indications looked OK. A few hundred yards down the road (and deep in the hood no less) I can feel an intermittent vibration/stumble and now I get the *FLASHING* (misfire) check engine light.
5am Sat morning and I'm already on the highway for my ~35mi ride home. The vehicle behaved OK, but you could feel a definite power loss, indicative of not firing on all 6. I hated to, but I had to drive it the whole ~35miles with the flashing CEL. I couldn't smell rich exhaust, nor did I notice any black smoke, etc.
Now I'm SOL. I have no warranty since I'm a subsequent owner (3rd owner of vehicle). Of course I lent out my generic code reader 2yrs ago and never got it back. My garage is currently upside down, tools packed away..etc. We just had a baby a few weeks ago and moved to a new house. Perfect timing.
I am having an issue with the turn signals on my 2010 Santa Fe. When changing lanes to the right and moving the turn signal lever up slightly, the turn signals activate normally. However, when releasing the lever, the signal lights stop flashing (as they should), but the flasher clicks at a rapid rate and won't stop. I have to jiggle the turn signal lever to get it to stop clicking. I have checked all lights and the bulbs are fine.

I was at a drive thru when my instrument cluster started to go nuts.. all of the lights came on then started flashing.. the RPM gauge was bumping around too.. for a couple seconds.. then it went away.. the next day I was on the way home and it started to do the same thing as the motor began to lose power while climbing a hill then the transmission couldn't figure out which gear it wanted to be in then I could press the gas all the way but nothing would happen.. the battery was completely dead. so I replaced the battery an about a week later it did the same thing. I had the alternator checked out but it was fine..
