Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Windshield Ejector Malfunction
Oct 17, 2013
When I pull the wipers lever backwards, washer fluid supply in tank lowers, but there don`t come liquid out for the jets.
The rear jets don`t spray liquid . The auto sweeping function works OK (7 times).
The only way to spray a little of liquid is pulling the lever many times at once.
I deduct that the fluid is going or evaporating somewhere, The pump makes the noise that`s working...as always.
Someone told me that ejectors are clogged, but I used a pin to clean them and some liquid spits out.

However, selecting Mode setting to the floor on the climate control build (as I read) does not seem to turn off the AC from running to off with outside air only. Also, the OFF button does stop everything but once the fan speed is turned up its cold air blowing.
I read through the entire section in the owners manual and there is nothing mentioning it will run if AC is not selected nor any other over ride procedure. I am thinking this is a unique SF Limited issue and solutions for other models don't hold true for me. With the temperature much hotter its not difficult to feel the difference blowing out the vents.

Last night my front driver side windshield wiper malfunctioned - it was operating normally then 'jumped' off of the windshield and stayed in a rested position draped over the driver's side mirror. When placed anywhere on the windshield it doesn't function.
Would this be a problem with the linkage? The passenger wiper operates normally.

About 10 inches of the rubber around the windshield is becoming detatched. It looks really ugly and I have unsuccessfully tried to glue it with loctite...

Month ago the malfunction indicator turned on. On checking it was found that wires over the engine were eaten by rats. Reconnection of wires solved the problem.
Today the malfunction indicator light is blinking. Could it be the same wires going loose?

My new SANTA FE has merely covered 10000 km. The vehicle is running fine except a very irritating loud knocking noise from top of front windshield area. The noise is generated as soon as vehicle goes over a minor irregularity on road or even if you make a sharp right or left turn.

I have a 2007 Santa Fe & in the past every time the temp got below 32 my windshield wiper fluid would not come out. We put in the fluid that does not freeze. I brought it in and they just told me the nozzle had debris in it and nothing else was wrong. Next week same thing. Now when I go to put the fluid on the front windshield all I get is the wipers running & no fluid and at the same time the back wipers come on, but no fluid, which never happened before. Back wipers are separate from the front.

I have a 2008 Santa Fe SE 3.3L and my tachometer doesn't work. I feel that the tach meter it self is good and same with the wiring. Where does the signaling come from that goes to the meter does it come from the Engine computer or is there another sensor?
Note in addition to this I have good reading on the ODmeter, Speed, Range, but my AVG MPG does show any value. I will be changing my fuel sensor here in a week since my gas gauge is not giving true readings. I am thinking that is why I am not getting an average MPG.

Traveling down Highway 27 yesterday in my 2007 Santa Fe, doing 65 MPH, when all of a sudden I hear a tapping at the passenger seat window. There it was, the gasket that surrounds my windshield had pulled loose and was flapping in the wind, occasionally tapping on the window.
I have never had the windshield replaced nor had any notion there was a problem. I had no tools with me but tried to force the gasket back into its place. Lasted only a couple miles.
Took it to the Hyundai dealer in Ft. Myers who proceeded to tell me they didn't do windshields and that it was not covered under the warranty. I have 44000 miles and it is a 2007. Does that seem right?
I can understand light bulbs, oil changes and things like that not being covered, but rubber gaskets around the windshield?

Recently my santa fe has been acting up. One time I got in and nothing came on, no light, door noise, nothing. I closed, then opened my door and everything turned back on, clock reset itself and the cd changer kept shuffling through the cds. Another time this happens before I got in the car. I opened my door to hear the cd changer shuffling and the clock had reset. This has happened 4 time in the pasted 3 weeks.

My wife drives a 2009 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited which we bought new back in 09. she has put roughly 140,000 miles in that time span. We have religiously followed all required maintenance routines; this is the first major issue we have EVER had with our Santa Fe. The issue we are having involves the AC unit. Instead of blowing ice cold air, the air vents are blowing hot air as if the heater is on. I have check all major AC components and everything is working properly. I believe we are having a controls issue.
At one point, all vents would only blow hot air. The other day, the passenger side vents started blowing ice cold air while the driver side still blew hot air. The driver's side has not blown cold air since this issue started about a week ago. We do have dual climate control; I have tried every possible combination of controls to see if it's a particular switch or button; however, I have not had much luck.

Having issue with an occasional whistling noise. Mine seems to happen once I get to 80km/hr(50mph) or above. Seems to be coming from the drivers side area around the side mirror or windshield frame. Being winter the windows and sunroof have been closed and it doesn't seem to be consistent so it's hard to figure out what could be causing it.

I have a 2002 CRV and the air conditioner went out a year and half ago. We decided not to get it fixed due to the cost of over $1,200.00.A loud noise just developed in the water pump area of the motor so our garage changed the water pump. The noise went away for about 15 minutes as we were driving home from the shop. However, now the shop is saying they have to replace the air conditioner (still over $1,200.00), that we shouldn't drive it until we do and that they won't warranty the repair due to problems with Honda CRV's.Can we do anything so we don't have to do the repair and if we don't will any other part of the car be affected such as engine cooling or windshield defrosting?

My daughter has a 2005 VW GTI which has had a series of bizarre electrical problems. The latest was with the windshield wipers. Sometimes they work properly. Often, when the weather gets damp, they go on by themselves. (This is not a feature - they don't automatically go on when it rains, it might just be humid.) Sometimes, turning the front wipers off will turn the back wipers on. Turning the back wipers on will turn the front wipers off. The other day, she needed to drive 40 miles to work. It was not raining at the time, but it was threatening.
The only way to turn the front wipers off, was to turn the back wiper on. The only way we could get both wipers off at the same time, was to remove the fuse for the back wiper and turn the back wiper on. In the event of rain, she could then turn the back wiper off to make the front wipers go on. We have brought the car to the dealer several times. They replaced the relay twice. They swear they have checked the entire system and can find nothing wrong. The last time it happened, we showed them that it was impossible to turn the wipers off. They have seen the problem, but they still can't fix it.

Well, due to an unresolved A/C issue my dealer has had my Treg for 2 weeks out of the past 2 months and then my front grill flew off and smashed my windshield. Dealership agreed to cover the damage but managed to sell-off my replacement windshield by accident. Been driving around for 2 weeks with a badly cracked windshield, waiting for replacement glass. Funny thing is that the crack in the glass now has made my "rainsensing" wipers trigger better than before. But now I have

My auto windshield wiper function has become real sensitive...When driving in the lightest rain or even mist, my wipers start intermittently, then go faster and faster until they are going steadily, and in medium-light rain, often go to high speed. They never did this in the past, this has recently started. I turn them off, then back on and the process repeats. The auto wiper was always wonderful in the past, but not now.
Is there some kind of adjustment for this problem? Is my windshield sensor going bad?

This is for a 2003 GTI, 89,00 miles. Every time I try to use the windshield cleaner the fuse blows for the windshield wipers. I have tried to put in a 25 amp fuse and it worked for a while but still blew. The windshield wiper motor has been replaced.

I've just bought a 2005 Santa Fe CRDI 2.0 Second hand, one owner from new, 60,000miles in 7 years. Just had it's 60,000 mile service. Until today perfect. Started car and no revs. but when I put in gear and moved the car, the revs kicked in and I was able to drive normally. Pulled over to side, into neutral, no revs FOR 1 2 or 3 SECONDS, then revved as normal, put in gear, and able to drive OK. Meanwhile, the MIL light came on and stayed on. I know what the hand book says but before I take it to our Hyundai dealer.

Took my 4 week old Santa Fe through the car wash (touchless) this morning for a rinse. Not sure if I'm the first in this forum to experience it, but my windshield started leaking! 6 or 7 streaks of water ran down the inside of the windshield. I was only 2 blocks from the dealership so I went straight over.
Anyway, obviously covered by warranty and I was sent around the corner to an autoglass place so the guy can look at it. Going in tomorrow morning and they will reseal or completely remove and re-install the same windshield. Needless to say, I am NOT impressed by this!
