View 12 RepliesI was noticing that the shade for the sunroof does not slide back 100%. It seems like they could have made it go back another inch or 2.
View 16 RepliesI noticed water dripping underneath my car. It's close to right front wheel. I'm pretty sure it's just water but I didn't turn AC on. I'm afraid it's from exhaust pipe.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2008 sante fe 3.3 the water pump is leaking. I have the replacement pump, however I'm not sure how it is designed to come out due to clearance issues. It's easy enough to unbolt a pull loose, however clearance between the car frame and pulley is 1/4 inch. How does it come out of the compartment?
View 6 RepliesI just purchased a 2011 LE Santa Fe,(2400 mi) and have a question regarding water leaking from bottom of the engine. I called the dealer and service rep explained it is more than likely from condensation build up on heater coil and being drained through the vent tube. I believe this is normal and have observed on other vehicles I have owned during the summer months when using AC.
I don't believe I have seen this condition in the winter months 40 - 50 F degrees when using just the heater. I'm hoping this isnt systematic of another problem, that was simply explained away by dealer. It sounds logical but then, again, I have never seen it when using the heater. I do leave heater at full blast when I start the car remotely to warm up cabin temp on those cold chilly mornings.
As mentioned, water leaking (not coolant or oil) near catalytic converter, my guess this could be normal... but, the interior of the vehicle is fogging up after stopping, and of course, clears up when the front defroster goes on. No sweet smell, interior or exterior. No warning lights or codes.
View 5 RepliesIs this a issue? I know it's not normal but is it worth a trip to dealer?
View 9 RepliesI have a 2007 Santa Fe 3.3L. Water has begun leaking into the rear cargo area when it rains. It was raining today so I went out to look and the water is coming in through the rear cargo light. None of the headliner is wet. My guess is the water is coming in around the rear hatch seal but I can't find any area where it could get in.
View 4 RepliesNew to Hyundai, bought a 08 Santa Fe Ltd AWD. My first of three daughters just got her license and I decided to part ways with my BMW 530 for something more practical. That was a difficult day. So far, I'm really happy with the Fe and my daughter loves it, too.
Question: After driving, while car is parked in driveway, water will drip from underneath car for like an hour after the car has been turned off. I have collected some of it in a pan and it is crystal clear water, not any type of fluid. Now, this seems to be completely normal drip you'd seem from any car that has its AC on in the summer but this happens when the AC is NOT being used and temp is still in the 40s - 50s. The drip is located approx under the front passenger floor board. I suppose its good that whatever it is, it is draining away and not collecting and causing corrosion but just thought I'd ask the forum. Is this normal? Any other Fe owners notice this drip?
I noticed the coolant was a little low in the reservoir. Took a look at the water pump and noticed a light coolant stain around it. It is a V6 with only 55,000 miles. Second owner, so no warranty. It seems a little unusual to have it start to go so soon, but it is what it is. I will put in a new one and change the belt while I am at it. What brand pump and coolant to use? Are there any good threads on changing a water pump, or is it pretty straight forward?
View 3 RepliesI've had a few problems lately with water leaking into the vehicle. The second row passenger side seatbelt is getting soaked, and water can be seen dripping out of the small slot in the wall panel that the seatbelt comes out of. Of course, it all makes its way down to the floor, which gets soaked.
Luckily, I've got third row seating, so the second row passenger side seat flips up and I can get access to the floor and soak up the water with towels.
The leaking only seems to occur when the vehicle is parked with the front pointing uphill (even on very minor grades). I've tried, unsuccessfully, to replicate the problem with a hose, but I only have a level area to test in, and don't have any service ramps to get the front elevated.
From reading various posts on here, and elsewhere, it seems that there are a few possibilities:
- The "dam" that surrounds the sunroof to collect water and send it to the drains is overflowing and water is getting into the wall of the vehicle.
- The sun roof drains are plugged, which may be contributing to the dam overflowing
- The sun roof drain tube has become disconnected inside the roof or wall
Can the rear drain tubes are routed down the "B" or "C" pillar? Depending where they go, I may be able to eliminate a disconnected tube as the problem. I've also read that there was a service bulletin related to increasing the height of the dam, but haven't determined yet if it applies to my vehicle.
I have the 3.5 V6 Automatic 2010 95k miles. I have read places that say any fluid SP-III will work, then others that say any SP-IV. To my understanding, SP-III is not correct, and the fluid will need to meet SP-IV, is this correct? (Additionally, all the auto-part stores said Mecron SP-6 which is not easy to find).
Also, I have a mystery water leak, it is solely water dripping onto the exhaust just between the firewall and the engine. This happens for about an hour after the car is shut off; its getting cold here in Germany and haven't been running the A/C so that is not the issue.
The diesel filter water level light came on today and I noticed a lack of power. I drained of the water which made no difference so I replaced the filter which still made no difference . The light is still on and the engine is powerless from 2000 rpm .

View 30 Replies2011 2.4L Limited leaking at the sunroof area? On a rainy day after my 60,000 mile service I noticed my driver side floor mat was wet. Took it out, vacuumed the water out and asked the dealer to check it at one of my other recall visits. They could not find the source so I took the car to a body shop who confirmed the source of the leak as being in the sunroof area, but are not able to find a solution.
View 8 RepliesYep that's right a leak around the compass area. It first happened a month ago while driving in the rain. A few drops came out of the area between the headliner and the compass on the passenger side. The other day a couple of drops came out of the other side (driver). I took it to the dealer the next day and they couldn't find any water. Even after removing the whole top console and running it through the car wash. They couldn't even see where any water may have been.
Happens at speeds over 45mph. Raining outside for at least 2 hours. Sunroof had not been used for at long time due to Winter only a few drops have come out so far at one time. Has only happened twice in the 4 months we have owned the car.
I've noticed that there is a wet ring and i noticed a drip of water as i opened the sunshade of the sunroof???

View 1 RepliesThe sunroof drains on my '02 wagon clogged, causing water to start dripping out of the overhead console. ARF! The repair is gonna cost me a lot. What sounds really strange is that the mechanic tells me that the outlets from the drain tubes are slightly crimped. This makes them impossible to flush and requres removal of the headliner and interior A-pillar trim sot that the hoses can be pulled and replaced. The mechanic then tells me that he will cut off the crimped portion of the tube outlets to enable them to flow freely. Crimping the outlets sounds like a really stupid thing to do. What purpose could this serve?
View 7 RepliesWe have had 6-8 inches of rain in the last month. the last several days I have notice a lot of water in the passenger side floorboard as well as behind the seat. the headliner around the sunroof is also saturated on that side of the car. After several hours investigating and reading posts on this forum it is safe to say that the drain on that side is clogged. I am a new VW owner and am ignorant as to where the drains are at??? also, how to "rod" or unclog the drain line that runs down a or c pillar?
View 1 RepliesI have a 05 gli and leaking water from drive side visor towards the sun roof. Would the drain be clogged from the sunroof. My seat is getting wet....
