View 7 RepliesI'm trying to figure out what has failed on my 2008 Santa Fe.
After stopping at a gas station today, my right turn signal came on and stayed on. By this I mean that the right turn arrow on the dash is illuminated and both the front and rear right turn signal bulbs are illuminated. They are all on steady, not flashing. Moving the turn signal stalk/switch does nothing. They all stay on when the car is turned off and the key removed. I have to disconnect the battery to get them to shut off. I tried pulling the turn signal, hazard and cluster fuses in the dash, but they had no effect. The switch for headlamps/park lights has no effect on the right side bulbs.
The left turn signal works normally.
Also, it may be related to having unplugged the battery a couple of times, but now the CD player shows "initializing" and I can't use it. The am/fm stereo works normally.
I need detailed instructions for how to replace the right (passenger's side) rear turn signal bulb socket and the subassembly that holds the remaining bulbs and inserts into the tail light assembly. I've done this once before successfully but now can't seem to make it work now.
Without the subassembly inserted and locked into place with its locking tabs, the turn signal bulb locks into place in its socket, and that socket in turn easily inserts and locks into place in the hole in the outboard corner of the lens through the rear of the lens assembly. However, I can't seem to install both the turn signal bulb in its socket and the subassembly that holds the rest of the bulbs. The two contacts on the underside of the rim of the turn signal bulb socket would indicate that that the socket installs after the subassembly, but then it has nothing to plug into. When it's installed first, I don't see how the bulb would be energized.
The owner's manual of course says to have the dealer handle maintenance in this area.
1998 Olds Intrigue 3.8L ... When I turn on the right signal on my Olds Intrigue the back light flashes faster than normal. The front light does not flash. I purchased a new light bulb for the front. I replaced the bulb. The back flashes at a faster rate but the front does not flash. I replaced the front and rear bulbs. The front does not flash and the rear flashes at a faster rate. Do you think there is a broken wire or broken signal flasher?
View 3 RepliesIt all began on my 1997 Camry when the driver's front turn signal began the rapid flashing thing, indicating to me that the bulb in the front was out. I replaced the bulb. The running light part works, but the flasher still does not. On the front passenger side of the car, the turn signal works, but the running light does not. I replaced the passenger side bulb at the same time I replaced the driver's side bulb. The flashing turn signal works as it did before, but the running light still does not go on.
The problem shouldn't be the bulbs - they are new. The flasher unit behind the fuse box should affect both lights flashing, so it probably is not that.
What thing or things can cause one light to flash for the turn signal but not be on constantly for the running light (passenger front side) and to work as a running light being constantly on, but not flashing as a turn signal (driver's front side)?
My 2002 Elantra (about 276,000km) had some kind of leak in a power steering return line. A mechanic looked at it, said I needed to order the replacement part from Hyundai. Got the part, the mechanic (not Hyundai) took 2 hours and fixed the line.
Driving away from the mechanic, I noticed the front right turn signal was blinking abnormally rapidly. Left turn signal is fine. I call the mechanic, tell him what's happening, and ask if it might be related to the power steering line fix (after all, they're both in the right front side of the vehicle). He swears up and down he touched nothing having to do with the turn signal.
Okay, maybe it's just a coincidence. I buy a new signal light and put it in. Same thing with the front right turn signal blinking too rapidly. While driving back from replacing the bulb, a car cut in front of me and I went to lay on the horn....nothing happened!! No sound. To top it off, for a while now, the dashboard lighting has been dimming slightly at certain times.
What could be causing all this? The alternator is fine, someone tested it.
I have a 1994 ford ranger .the problem is with the right rear turn signal. it works fine except when i step on the brake. At that time, it turns dim and will not flash. All of the other turn signals are not affected like this.i have checked the bulbs and they are all good. I mean the three in the rear tail lite.

What to check and how to check/ replace parts I need to get it working again is there a flasher inside the steering column. or is there just a relay on the side where the fuses are ?

I go to install them and when I tighten them up it causes the turn signal bulbs to push in towards the fender on both. I put my hand back there and it feels like the bulb socket is being forced against the header panel assembly. Am I missing something?

I noticed that this happened once every blue moon in the winter time when I purchased the vehicle new back in '07. However it has been occurring more frequently as of the past 3 days.
I have checked the fuse and it is fine. My hazard signals work when my turn signal works if that is any additional indication of what might be going on. What can be done to remedy the situation?
The other day i noticed my turn signal was blinking rapidly. I found that my drivers side bulb was burned out. I am trying to convert most of my lights to LEDs on my truck and figured that I'd replaced the tail lights with LEDs. After replacing both rear taillights with LEDS I still have the rapid blinking turn signal. Whats the deal? is it just the LEDS or what?
View 13 RepliesI've changed out all of my external lights for led's, including the turn signals. I had planned on replacing the turn signal relays with led comparable versions but have been unable to find the relays in the fuse boxes. The box that does the actual clicking under the dash seems like it could be it but it looks completely proprietary to this model, and not readily available in the compatible version.
I ended up installing resistors for now but that's caused other problems with my lights. Now when I turn my high beams on all 4 turn signals light up solid and I am unable to use them until I turn the highs off.
So, I would love to know if I do have a relay replacement option for my 2012 Santa Fe...
All my turn and hazard signals work normally when engaged but when it snaps back into the off position the turn signal (sound only) keeps going rapidly. It goes on and off randomly. It's the sound in the dash only. What it is? I can replace it myself I just need to figure out what it is.

2008 Santa Fe GLS ....
I want to install some LED turn signal bulbs and lights but the flasher will flash twice as quick because of the burnt-bulb detector.
I have taken the flasher apart and tried all the tricks on the book to isolate each pin on the IC and changed the timing resistor without avail. I do not want to put in load resistor on the bulb end to fool the detection circuit.
I want to modify/cut off the detection circuit?
I thought it would look much cooler if the front turning signal light bulbs are LED bulbs. So I bought two, took the original bulbs out and put the LED ones in. It fitted perfectly but they do not light up. Don't exactly know why but I believe it's because the poles are reversed. Is there anyway to get it working?

Also if this is a thing does that mean I could get the amber out of the headlight? My car is 2015, if that makes a difference.
I recently just purchased my 2010 Prius and the first mod I did was add new projectors/HID's. Upon ordering this kit I did not get the relay harness.
I also would like to add I drove my car around with my headlights out to see if a bulb out warning would come on and nothing. Also, if we add LED's to turn signals will this create a hyper flash?
