I have a 2007 Santa Fe CRD+ with integrated roof rails and roof rack. The roof rails have started to come quite loose - is there a simple way to tighten them? Or is this a main dealer job? I am worried about damaging the trim and there are no obvious bolts, screws etc to be seen

If I remove the useless rails and cross bars that looks like it's still a possibility.
What to fill the holes with? Just torx screws? Anything else I need to do to prevent water leakage?
Having issue with a moon roof rattle in the up position, sounds as if the glass is loose. If I slightly close the rattle stops. Not sure if I want lexus taking apart the moon roof/ head liner to repair. I may just live with it, but would like to get it looked at. 2011 LS 460 sport.
View 8 RepliesSo my vehicle is 6 years old and the front edge of the roof panel is severely rusting from corner to corner. Warranty originally tried to pass it off as stone chips (lol) before I got an independent surveyor to inspect. He said there's no doubt it's a manufacturing fault and is rotting from the inside out. I went back to Hyundai with this appraisal letter to which they replied 'your anti perforation warranty only covers from the windows down so the roof isn't covered.
View 7 RepliesMy sister has a 2011 Santa Fe that was making some noise so she had it looked at at a local Monroe, which then said that the Alternator Pulley is loose. I haven't had the chance to look at the car myself, but in this case, would it be possible to replace just the pulley? Or will I have to replace the whole alternator?
The guys from Monroe said the alternator will have to be replaced as a whole. But from pictures I'm seeing online, it looks like the pulley is held by a 6-point nut, with a torx screw in between to counter hold the rotation. I can also see some listings on eBay for just the pulley. So I'm thinking I could start off by tightening the nut or replace the pulley if it's dented or off shape. Will I have to replace the whole alternator?
So somehow my Left Rear Roof Molding came loose while I was driving and is missing now. ECS Tuning has one but I don't want to spend 70 bucks.
View 2 RepliesOn the 23rd of January, car was at the dealership (9 am) for its first oil change, that rattle in the dashboard and being washed. There was also another issue to be taken care of but they didn't carry a replacement headlight. My brow light on the passenger side wasn't turning on so dealer said they had to swap the whole headlight assembly! Anyhow picked up the SFS later on that day (6 pm) and, I had to wait for the windows to clear as they were really foggy due to the fact that the vehicle had been washed and it was pretty cold outside that day (-25 F). Went to the restaurant with my wife and came back home around 8:30 pm. Car stayed parked all day on the 24th of January in the driveway. Come January the 25th, I wanted to take the SFS instead to go to work when I noticed that giant hole in the roof! Luckily the shade wasn't open so no glass inside the cabin although had the shade been open, maybe pressure wouldn't have built up. Vehicle was towed to dealership but Service Dept. was closed. Today, I shall hear from them. The loaner in the meantime, an Elantra.

View 14 RepliesI have a 2012 LS 460. When the moonroof is closed the aft section is not flush with the roof. It's about 1/4 inch low. I don't think this is normal.

How to drop the roof panel on a 2007 ultra - luxury....have an annoying "cracking soon" at the top front area of the sunroof. It does not appear to be the sunroof as I still get the sound when the roof is open and I'm going over an uneven area...say driveway onto the road. I would like to have a look but don't want to damage the air curtain bags.

at an angle causes a loud popping noise from my roof. I checked the headliner to see if anything was loose but came up with nothing. This occasionally happens on sharp turns on uneven ground.
I recently lowered my car so now this is happening way too often.

View 14 RepliesMy 2007 ES UL has started to peel at the edge of the glass of the rear roof panel. It was originally just at the rear corner and I assumed it must have been scratched and the due to dryness started to peel. Then I noticed it at the other rear corner. I asked them to look at it at the dealer and the service advisor told me it was from the UV rays which dried it out, and not to worry about it. I bought and applied einszett gummi pflege stift to those corners and all seemed well.
Now that it got colder here in NY the corners again began to pop up but today I see it's started to pop out very much in the middle of the panel which seemed fine before!! The SA had told me that this (gasket, molding) comes attached to the roof and to fix it I'd have to replace the panel! I'm scared my UL is sick of the panoramic roof just for show and wants to be able to open.
I know you can open all windows and moon roof by holding down the remote fob door unlock button.
I know you can close all windows and moon roof by holding down the lock button on the outside door handles
Question; Is there any way to close all windows and moon roof with a single button from inside the car?
The drivers-side black plastic strip on the roof of my '07 Prius is 'missing'. Should I have a body shop take care of this, the dealer, can I do it? It looks pretty straight forward to replace, but I'm concerned about how it's molded to the windshield 'gasket', like it's one piece.
View 2 RepliesI just completed a detailed cleaning of my SF last weekend and I noticed that every plastic screw and plastic nut inside the wheel wells were all loose. (Not the screws on the outside but inside above the tires.) I tightened them only finger tight.
