I have a 2007 Santa Fe 3.3L v6 and the right brake light doesn't work all the time. When the vehicle is parked ignition on motor off the light works. Yet when driving I have been told my right brake light is out. I read that the turn signal switch assembly could be the problem.
View 4 RepliesLast week while I was on vacation I had the battery light and brake light on the dash both come on at the same time. Just as these came on I was driving through some water on the road from a heavy storm that had happened earlier in the day. As I drove through, the lights came on at the same time and I lost power steering as well, after about 15 - 30 seconds both lights went off and everything was normal. It happened again later that day as well, same scenario, driving through some water, both lights came on, and no power steering. The lights once again went out after a short period, 15 seconds or so. What might be causing this? I was thinking maybe the alternator is going bad but I have not seen any other issues, lights dimming or things like that.
2004 Santa Fe 2.7L V6 with about 94000 miles.
I have a 2007 santa fe, the oem interior light does not work. I looked in the fuse box but there is no fuse for that light. Will buying a different interior light work and does there need to be a door jam switch in order for it to work. I have looked at other vehicles from that make model and year. They all have a unit that has a "door" button on that device.
View 4 RepliesLast oil change at the dealer (they're free) I informed the service desk of some knocking and grinding noises that are happening from time to time in the front end.. and fluid in the driveway.. they did the oil and said they saw nothing... so I have to go back next week for my last free oil change and before I made the appointment, I dropped in to see my regular mechanic.. steering rack is leaking on the passenger side and has been for a while as the fluid is down to the minimum line in the reservoir.
Made the appointment with the dealer, informed them about the noise again and fluid on the driveway.. again. Let's see what they say this time.
Over the past year we have been noticing that the HVAC blower doesn't turn on from time to time. All settings in the control panel seem normal and the fan speed is turned on. Most of the time everything is working normally, sometimes when the car starts the blower isn't working and then starts after a minute of driving. Sometimes I notice the blower isn't working and I turn up the fan speed and after a few clicks it starts working normally for the remainder of the drive. And then sometimes the blower doesn't ever start and I need to turn off and restart the car a few times. When the blower hasn't been working the a/c compressor has been turning on, something in the blower circuit is failing.
There are five possibilities:
The HVAC controller isn't telling the blower to turn on
The power relay isn't always working
There is a wiring or connection problem
The blower motor itself isn't working
The power mosfet is failing.
What needed to be replaced?
Have a 2012 Santa Fe, I originally bought brand new off the lot and now Ive noticed moisture in the brake light. Is something of this nature typically covered under warranty?
View 4 RepliesI have a Santa Fe 2001 and I towed a trailer today. It was fine at first but when we were trying to position the trailer at the destination the brake light fuse blew which meant the gear stick would not move. Figured out how to start the car again and used the shift lock release to move into drive to get the car off the road. I had to keep pushing that shift lock release button in to change the gears. I had the RACV guy come and change the blown fuse for me, and brake lights are fine now and the car starts, however the gear stick is still playing up. It went ok from park to drive, but then on the way back to park it got stuck at Neutral. Then had to use release again. Checked the fuse and brake lights, all is good there. What could be causing the gear stick to get stuck now? RACV guy couldn't understand why, he said replacing the fuse usually solves the problem.

The cargo lights on either side of it in the same assembly work fine so I believe the ground to be intact. My question is does this light have it's own fuse? if not where should I start looking for the solution to my problem?
View 1 RepliesI have to press Cancel before I can get my cruise control to work. I had a problem about a year ago where my cruise control wasn't working, and found out that a blown brake light fuse was the problem. Now I turn my CC on and the "Cruise" light comes on, I then press the set button, and nothing. I then press the cancel button and then the set button and then the "Set" light comes on.

View 7 RepliesFor some reason my back brake lights on my 2006 santa fe are all goofy. The two in the rear window work fine. The turn signals work fine but the right and left brake lights don't work. I replaced the10 am fuses and the lamps. It did not work at all. I don't understand how the top lights would work but the right / left wont. I even tried the flashers and the brake lights are not on either. I don't see a fuse in the box in the engine compartment labeled for rear brakes, so I am at a loss.
View 9 RepliesStarted having problems with my Chevy Malibu (1999, with 95,000 miles on it) while driving two times this week. Both times an alert warning flashed on my dashboard. The first time, flashed the brake check and ABS warning on the left side of the dashboard, and the second time the check oil and check battery warning on the right side. In both cases, after the warnings flashed, the car was still running, but stepping on the gas pedal resulted in no acceleration, but brakes still worked. The steering wheel also locks-up to the point where I can't turn any more. Both times, I stopped and shut off the engine, waited about 30 seconds and restarted, after which everything is fine and normal. The brake pads were changed recently, but not the rotors which may not be in very good shape.

View 5 RepliesI am having this issue if it's one. With the fuel level below last quarter, I'm having the time of starting the engine longer (cranking time). I tried several times, leaving the fuel level reach the last quarter, with same result. Reaching that level of fuel the problem appears.
Another issue is that sometimes when the day is hot and the fuel level is not necessary below quarter, the starting time is longer too. It's a Santa Fe AWD 2.4L Automatic.
I have a 2008 Santa Fe SE 4 cylinder that has been steadily losing gas mileage over the past few years. I had the fuel injectors cleaned a couple years ago but that did not work. When I bought it (used) in 2010, it was getting 22 mpg. It's now down to 17 mpg. The dealer recommends replacing the fuel filter (& lots of other parts). The car has just under 66,000 miles on it.
I did a search and also read through the fuel mileage thread that's on another Hyundai model forum, but nothing there addressed the slow, steady decrease, although I could have missed something .
There's no stalling, hesitation, slow acceleration, or other weirdness with the car otherwise. Driving habits and routes have not changed, although I might be driving a little slower than 5 years ago. I've had the codes dumped multiple times, with nothing showing up.
So I lent my santa fe to a buddy to do some hauling, I got it back yesterday and the turn signals and the brake lights don't work...notta. Regular running lights are working without issue, but no turn signals, no hazards, no brakes. Even the "tick, tick, tick" of the turn signal is gone, it's just dead.

(Pushing and holding the button) What my frustration is is that everytime i take a phone call, or everytime i turn off the car, the random setting gets erased and it is back to sequential play. Is there a way to get this to a default permanent setting of "all random".
View 3 RepliesI have a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe and over the last 3 weeks I have been having a lot of trouble with my door locks. One thing is my automatic lock that happens when you hit 14mph, every time I hit 14mph my doors sound like they are locking 4 times, and every time I stop and take off again they sound like they are locking 4 more times. It is driving me crazy. Another issue I am having is my back passenger side door doesn't always unlock with the FOB or the button on the driver door, it has to manually be unlocked.
View 12 RepliesI'm trying to figure out what has failed on my 2008 Santa Fe.
After stopping at a gas station today, my right turn signal came on and stayed on. By this I mean that the right turn arrow on the dash is illuminated and both the front and rear right turn signal bulbs are illuminated. They are all on steady, not flashing. Moving the turn signal stalk/switch does nothing. They all stay on when the car is turned off and the key removed. I have to disconnect the battery to get them to shut off. I tried pulling the turn signal, hazard and cluster fuses in the dash, but they had no effect. The switch for headlamps/park lights has no effect on the right side bulbs.
The left turn signal works normally.
Also, it may be related to having unplugged the battery a couple of times, but now the CD player shows "initializing" and I can't use it. The am/fm stereo works normally.
My 2012 Santa Fe AWD Limited whines, all the time, from the time I start it until the time I shut it off. It gets louder with acceleration. What is that?
View 11 RepliesI have 2007 sante fe. I just replaced the low beam,now the low beam doesn't work at all. I checked the fuse .. Just fine checked the wiring harness and plug no broken wire, no corrosion....
