Month ago the malfunction indicator turned on. On checking it was found that wires over the engine were eaten by rats. Reconnection of wires solved the problem.
Today the malfunction indicator light is blinking. Could it be the same wires going loose?
The car is a 2005.5 GLI (75k mi) w/ EvoTech Stg1 software, GHL stack intake, and an Iridium billet diverter valve.
Well today I was driving and the Malfunction Indicator Light on the dash came on and started blinking. When I stepped on the accelerator, the car felt like it had 1/4 the power and began shaking. The car idles kind of weakly, and feels like it has no power when you step on the gas. Also, when you step on the gas the car will shake. The strength of the shaking depends on how hard I press on the throttle, more throttle = more shaking. There is no shaking when it idles or when I have it cruising, only when accelerating.

Lately in an intermittent fashion my TPMS indicator light will blink when I first start the car. It goes away within a minute of driving (might even go away if I just idle but I am always in a rush so I don't know...). At first I thought perhaps it was the cold weather but it happens even on warm days. I've checked all the pressures all around and they are good (not even borderline).
In the manual it says a malfunction is when the light blinks and then stays on. What would blinking then non persistent light mean? Communication issues?
Yesterday I changed battery after that its seems malfunction indicator lamp stays on, i checked with hyundai service center they told to reset the program then diagnose the problem, then only come to know the issue or not issue they asked 20rial, i m wondering just changed the battery got some issue.
View 4 RepliesI've just bought a 2005 Santa Fe CRDI 2.0 Second hand, one owner from new, 60,000miles in 7 years. Just had it's 60,000 mile service. Until today perfect. Started car and no revs. but when I put in gear and moved the car, the revs kicked in and I was able to drive normally. Pulled over to side, into neutral, no revs FOR 1 2 or 3 SECONDS, then revved as normal, put in gear, and able to drive OK. Meanwhile, the MIL light came on and stayed on. I know what the hand book says but before I take it to our Hyundai dealer.
View 5 RepliesI have an 07 Passat Wagon. The headlight malfunction indicator light came on for my passenger side low beam. I replaced the bulb, which was visibly burn out (broken filament), but with a new bulb in, the light still is not working and the malfunction indicator is still on. What is the cause of this? I have the regular headlamps, not the xenon lights.
View 2 RepliesI have an issue in my car (Santa fe 2011) and it occurred since it was new (ODO 3000 KM , ESP light is on and the 4WD Blinking) . the agency could not resolve the issue. and my car up to now been in and out from the workshop for more than 6 times . and more the error code ( C1627 ) that appears in the GDS(Global Diagnostic System) does not exist in the system (troubleshoot manual) .

View 5 RepliesI started my Treg this morning and let it warm up for several minutes. I noticed on the lcd right above the temperature I had a graphic of the low 4 wheel drive symbol. Also the lights on the control wheel (where you would put it into low 4 wheel) by the gear shift was blinking on and off. So I drove it for awhile and I knew I wasn't in low 4 wheel. I stopped and turned off the engine and turned it back on. It was normal. this has happened 3 times now. Only when starting cold. I would then turn it off then back on and the symbol and the blinking would stop.

After doing some research online I noticed that there seems to be some issues with the coil packs on the 1.8's. Any other issues that this light is linked to?? And is the coil packs still very hard to get?

View 2 RepliesJust cleaned out the oil seperator box on my 93 850, put new injector seals in and a new intake gasket. Start up the car ran rough for a little then idles like a champ. The problem-shift up indicator is blinking. Barely put my fut on the gas shifts up a gear then back down then back up, I think I unplugged something by accident.

In the last couple of days the mil has illuminated so i took it to a mechanic who put it on the computer which he says it could be sucking air or bad fuel or many other things. He did cancel the light which stayed out for about 70 kms and its back on its not flashing just illuminated. Can this do any damage to the motor if still driving.
View 11 RepliesI am trying to diagnosis a new issue on my 2006 V6 Sonata . I plugged in my code scanner which gave back MIL Status as ON, but there was no Check Engine - Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) lit up on the instrument cluster. It also showed that the EVAP, CAT and O2S was "Not Ready". When I checked the codes, I had P0031, P0037, P0051 and P0057, all of which are tied to Low Heater Circuits in the O2 sensors. When I checked the cables under the hood, the lower O2 sensor cable closest to the firewall was stuck onto exhaust pipe. It easily pulled free but I tried clearing the codes but the same 4 codes remained. I checked the resistance across the heater control and ground circuit, all 4 O2 sensors were around 10 ohms.
There seems to be several issues:
1) Why doesn't the instrument cluster register the MIL status as ON and display this Check Engine Light?
2) Why are the EVAP, CAT and O2 "Not Ready", I've heard that these are sometimes tied to disconnecting the battery. I've put almost 3K miles on the vehicle since the battery change.
3) OBD Codes P0031, P0037, P0051, P0057, I would expect all O2 sensors to fail at once, is there a fuse or other control that needs to be replaced or reset?
I am trying to get everything ready for emissions testing on this recently purchased 06 Sonata and I am thinking these issues will cause it to fail.
I have a 2003 B5.5 Passat and the Malfunction Indicator Light went off. I went to Autozone for a diagnostic and received the error code:
PO243- Turbo/Sup Wastegate solenoid A malfunction
I did a search but was unable to find out what this is.
I have a 2009 GS 350 and I attempted to start it today but when I tried to start it up it wouldn't fire up as all the ignition lights kept coming on and I pressed the button repeatedly but couldn't start. After a few attempts I noticed the brake was still down from pressing it while I push the start button but the car still won't start. After a while I noticed none of the lights won't come on so I assume its the battery but then I notice the warning light that came on and in the owners manual they call it the Malfunction indicator Light. It states a malfunction in either the emission control, engine control, throttle control or automatic control systems. It says call the dealer if this occurs which I will do tomorrow.

Also in the linked thread another whom had gotten the exact warning, but inverter pump was not the problem, believed it meant the Hybrid battery was bad and replaced it. , but mine, at least for now, as discussed below, seems fine.
was about to make a trip, 140 miles, gassed up and when leaving station all these (quoted below) warning lights came on. and the car should have been operating in cold condition still as gas station was only a few miles from home. :

The malfunction indicator light on my 2004 Hyundai Elantra stays on from the time I start the car and stays on while driving. I know that it needs to be taken to have the code read but I was just wondering what this meant and if it is a serious problem.
View 6 Replies2001 Accord, 6cyl. 3.0, automatic transmission. The last few weeks its been shifting a little rougher, but nothing thatd alarm me. Then last night, the check engine light popped on and the little green light around the D4 on the dash began blinking. I turned it off for a minute, restarted it and blinking light was gone but not check engine. Sat there and shifted through all the gears and the only thing I don't like is when i go from D3 to 2 and back. It shifts real hard there. Not as hard shifting back from 2 to D3 though. All other gears shift fine.
Also, I checked the fluid on the dipstick and it was right under the lower dot. Its my wifes old car and she "doesn't remember" if shes ever had the tranny flushed and a buddy said if it hasn't been flushed regularly by this point(125K miles), not a good idea to flush, just drain and refill. (Green blinking light around gear indicator) and what was the fix? Is it difficult to drain/refill the tranny and can I refill this model through the dipstick or do I have to get underneath? Do I REALLY have to use Honda ATF only or can I use whatever??
