I just bought a used 2011 Santa Fe. Two weeks ago, the right window stopped working. Neither the left or right switch had any effect. All other windows worked. A few minutes later it was ok and has been since. Today the left window did the same thing; was inop for a while then ok.
View 2 RepliesMy 2010 Santa Fe has an intermittent all window condensation problem, regardless whether the car has been idle overnight or whilst driving it has occurred on numerous occasions. In one case in the morning I had to use a towel to dry the inside windows. I have tried leaving the heater / AC on various settings but it still occurs. I have noticed that the door windows when I open / close them the seals do not touch the glass. In the short term the AC and fast windscreen/rear window buttons do clear the moisture but it does re-occur especially whilst driving...
View 6 RepliesThe passenger window on my 07 Santa Fe isn't working. I took everything apart and I even removed the motor from the door and it seems like there is just constant power going to the motor because when I plug it in the motor starts going even before I hit the switch.
I also removed the motor from the regulator too and the regulator seems fine and no cables are broken or off their wheels. When I do hit the window switch either way the window motor stops too. I'm not sure if my issue is on the driver side switch or the passenger side because both do the same thing...
About a month ago my ac stopped pushing any air out, but it only lasted for a day or so...then it has worked fine for the last month.
This morning it stopped again. No obvious signs of anything wrong, what might be causing this? not enough freon? I do get air when I turn it to the button that shows air coming from outside when I am at fast speeds, but not on the recirculation button. (I don't know the technical names of these button modes)
I have the 2012 Santa Fe Limited, bought brand new 0 miles off the lot.
My headlights worked on Tuesday. Wednesday night driving home I put my headlights on and neither is working. My brake lights, directional and highbeams work. The only thing that doesn't is the headlights.
I replaced both headlights and still not working. I purchase fuses 15A and switch the fuses which were blown and it resulted in my horn going off. I had someone check with a gauge and there is power in the light socket. We tried to replace the fuse again and the horn went off. We removed the fuse for the horn and replaced the fuses for the headlights and the horn still went off even though the fuse was missing.
The mechanic, checked my fuse box and wires around it and was not able to determine the issue.
Front wipers stopped working while driving. trying to trouble shoot problem. wondering what fuses to check?
View 2 RepliesI had a new condenser put in last summer and the aircon has worked fine since then. Hot weather last week, aircon worked for a few days, then suddenly not working any more. The ac magnetic clutch is kicking in, the fuses all seem ok, I removed the low and high pressure caps and there seems to be a bit of freon fizzing on the valve after I removed the caps so I assume pressure is ok (don't have gauges -maybe Ill buy on ebay). Is there a low pressure switch that I can bypass to see if that makes it work?? or something else I can do? I assume if the clutch is kicking in and there is no squealing, that the compressor is probably ok?

Drove my son to school this morning and pulled into a parking spot.....the shifter would not move into PARK......it was stuck....would only go into NEUTRAL and DRIVE....the vehicle was idling
I was a little panicked, but put on the parking brake and called the dealership on the cell.....they told me to pop the cover on the switch near the shifter and and depress the reset button (needed a flat head screw driver).......it took about four tries and then finally worked.....
I shut the vehicle off, restarted it and tried to put the car into REVERSE...to back out of the parking spot......shifter was stuck again.....had to depress the reset button......
Immediately took the car to the dealership where it was DIAGNOSED with a faulty "stop lamp switch".......causing the shifter to stick and the brake lights not to work... this was a recall item for the 2007 Santa Fe, but not the 2008 (that I'm aware of)
Dealership replaced the stop lamp switch and had me in and out in a hour.......but they did not initially give me a write up......i told them this was a very dangerous situation that had just occurred and I wanted a write up.....they happily complied....
So keep a flat head screw driver (glove compartment) in the car and have your dealership take a look at the stop lamp switch, on your next visit, even though it was only recalled on the 2007.......I will also be contacting HYUNDAI directly...
ETA: ESC light was illuminated when I was trying to get the vehicle into PARK from DRIVE......also contacted HYUNDAI and gave them a description of the incident and now have a case number.
I have a 2007 Santa Fe. The drivers door handle has stopped working. I can open the door with the inside handle. The locking mechanism is fine. I took the interior panel off and found there is a middle metal panel, which stopped me from getting to the exterior door handle mechanism to see what is wrong. I can't find any information on how to correctly remove the middle panel. I remove the bolts but am not sure how to deal with the two cables from the inside handle to the lock and if there is anything else needed to release the middle panel.
View 8 RepliesAircon suddenly stopped working. Seemed to be due to faulty valve on low side (bubbles coming out when cap removed). However- when testing- the clutch still kicked on ok even though it was not blowing cold air. After a few weeks I had time to look further however it suddenly started squeaking. Turns out the bolt holding the ac clutch plate has sheared. see pic.
Question: is it possible the compressor has seized due to low freon and that's why it sheared? Is it possible that it sheared for any other reason? Is compressor replacement difficult?
On our 2007 turbo diesel auto santa fe the audio controls first and now the cruise has stopped. Had problems turning cruise on would have to press buttons 3 / 4 times to work now nothing.
View 1 RepliesThe wipers on my '99 SW1 are becoming intermittent in operation. The intermittent speeds change, the set speeds work, but all operations are not stopping when turned off. They do turn off when I turn the ignition off. I think it is the multiswtch on the steering column, but haven't done much troubleshooting yet.
View 4 RepliesI'm trying to figure out what could be the reason why I have Intermittent wiper operation on this truck. It's a 99 Chevy 1500 4.8 4X4. It's almost like the wipers have a mind of their own. Sometimes working properly but most often not operating when needed the most. Is this one of the set-ups that has a pc board with a bad/cold solder connection? I'm sure that one of the regulars here has come across this at some time or another and found it to be a simple fix.

Supposedly the gauge unlike the stepper motor I need to replace for the speedometer is actually voltage controlled by a circuit board in the cluster.
Passenger side window has stopped working - the regulator was replaced about a year ago and I have tested it directly from the battery and it works up & down. I thought it unusual to have the drivers side and passenger side window switches to fail at the same time - is there a common relay I should find and replace - I am looking for a common circuit that both switches might travel through to this window motor.

I can only assume they stopped at the same time as the truck doesn't belong to me, I was just asked to see what it would take to fix it. I've looked it over and see no fuse and don't really have a clue where to start looking for the culprit of the problem.
