I have a 2010 Santa Fe Limited. When I first bought it, I'm pretty sure the headlights would delay turning off for a few seconds after removing the ignition key. Now they turn off as soon as the ignition key is turned off. Is that normal? I can find nothing in the User Manual and the dealer does not seem to know how it works.
View 2 RepliesFor the most part, I'm pretty happy with my 2010 Santa Fe SE (V6 AWD Automatic).
When I'm coming up to a yield sign, or otherwise slowing down to say 5-10 miles an hour but not a complete stop, and then when I start to try to go again, there is a hesitation and then the vehicle kind of jerks as it starts. It's like it takes a half second to a second for the throttle to respond, and by then it revs higher than I expect. I don't know if it's the throttle delay or a delay downshifting before it starts, or a combination of the two.
I've also noticed that a half second or so delay when just sitting in park and quickly pressing the throttle and releasing. I can press the pedal to about 50% and release it before the RPMs respond at all. Then it'll rev up and back down as you'd expect, just not WHEN you'd expect.
I have removed this filter before but last oil change I took it to a garage as it was too cold for my liking to change oil. The cap is now stuck on very tight. This one has a plastic 27 mm lug on top with an arrow clearly pointing clockwise. I am assuming that means to turn clockwise (or reverse thread) to remove it. It simply won't budge.
I read the post where someone broke the plastic top on the housing and I do not want to have that happen. How to confirm that the oil filter top is reverse thread?
Son has a 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe 2.7 motor. The timing belt broke before we could replace it. Long story short, 24 valves, gaskets, timing belt, water pump, new belt tensioner and new pulleys. The motor is back together. The only problem is when you turn the ignition switch on, it blows the CPU fuse. The only electrical part we replaced was the purge valve.
View 3 RepliesI have an '07 ES350 with the factory HID headlights. The driver side headlight will start to flicker a few minutes after being turned on and then eventually turn off. Turning the headlights switch off and then back on will turn this headlight back on but it will start to flicker again after a few minutes.
I had this problem last year with the same headlight and took it to the dealer who replaced the HID bulb but now it's back again. I've also noticed it seems to occur during the cold winter months and not so much during warmer weather.
The passenger side HID works fine with no problems. Perhaps it's a loose wiring connection but I'm not sure if this is something that can be checked without taking the entire HID assembly apart.
2008 Santa Fe. Removed 2 bolts and 1 nut as shown in manual. cleared the clip at the bottom outboard corner. What else am I missing? I'm still Unable to remove the headlight bucket. It will only come out about an inch or so then feels like something else is holding on.

View 6 RepliesWhen I am driving and I start to slows down to a store my head lights dim when my transmission shift down (A/T). At first it didn't bother me but now since I have noticed it, it is annoying. Although the dimming in not super dangerous but I am worried there might be a bigger issue.

View 2 RepliesI am currently driving a 2012 Santa Fe Sport (Canadian). Over the weekend I encountered a problem with the ignition - the key would not turn. It happened once in the morning but it turned after I jiggled it a few times. It happened again in the afternoon but this time it would not turn at all. I had to call roadside assistance. They had me try a few things (pumping the breaks, shaking the steering wheel) but I couldn't get it to turn. They had to send a tow truck. When he arrive he fiddled with it for 30 seconds and got it to work but could not really explain why - only suggested that I take it to the dealership to have it looked at.
The vehicle is only a few months old (5200km).
The headlight stays on for about a minute after the car shuts down. What is this term called? I want to set the timer of this delay shorter. Right now it feels like a minute to turn off the head and tail lights.

Over the past 2 weeks I have noticed that when I go to start up the car, the ignition doesn't sound the same. Meaning, that typically when I start the car, I hear a quick turn of the ignition and away I go. When I now start up the car, the ignition does not turn over as quick and I'm now hearing a bit of a hesitation.

Every now and again, and more often recently, when I try to start the car with the ignition switch, it cranks well, but doesn't, or takes a while to start. If, after trying to start it with no success, I give it a few seconds, I usually get it going, but not always instantly like it used to.
However, If I try to start it with the remote, it starts instantly, every time. What could be the cause?
I have the lights all taken apart but I can't really see how they would come out.. Are they pressed in? Screwed in?
View 4 RepliesI have a 2007 Santa Fe. My air conditioner keeps turning on by itself. I press it to turn off, but keeps turning on. I do this several times before it stays off. Then after 10 - 15 minutes, it turns back on. Is this a relay problem or a button problem?
View 11 RepliesI suppose it could be unrelated but yesterday i was showing my coworker how easy it was to remove the headlight switch on my 2010 golf tdi (he has an a3). I took it out of the slot, unplugged it, plugged it back in, and slid it back into place. im sure i didnt yank on the wiring harness but who knows. I went to turn on my car and now i have an airbag fault showing up for the driver seat position sensor. I looked under the seat and everything is still plugged in, along with in the little access panel where the wiring goes.

I have a 2008 HYUNDAI SANTA FE 2.2 CRTD CDX MANUAL. It jumps when reversing, especially when turning in reverse. Is this normal or is there a fault?
View 4 RepliesI am having a problem with the stock radio resetting itself after turning off the car.
Just recently had to replace the battery which was not an issue. After the new battery was installed I set the clock, cabin temp, and radio stations. Came back to the car later, turned it on and noticed the radio was off. Hit the power button and it came on with the default stations, volume settings, etc. This happens every time the car is turned off and left for more than a few minutes. What's odd the clock and temperature controls DO keep their settings. It's only the radio that's the problem and resets back to it's defaults.
How to correct this?
My 2012 V6 Santa Fe turned itself off on the freeway today, only 3500 miles,
was in stop and go traffic, stopped and the car just turned off! No shaking or anything. Turned back on (so its not the battery, and YES it had plenty of gas), went about 100 ft and turned off again! Took into the dealer, they won't have an answer until Monday.
My 2011 santa fe radio turn off by it self and come back on when ever he want. It start this 2 weeks ago, some day everything work fine, and other days is doing this. What the problem is? Its the basic radio not the infinity.
