I was washing my car and noticed that my tail lights are melting on both sides. Brought it to the dealership and they told me that they would cover it, but the service manager and foreman wasn't there.

Ok, I just bought a 2010 Mazda 6 off company lease from a friend and noticed the rear tail lights are melting on both sides - yes, actually melting. Original bulbs are as installed. Brought it to the dealer and of course its out of warranty with 48,000 miles & no Mazda won't repair it (for free anyway). Original bulbs. Is this a problem with Mazdas and are there many documented cases?? I'm in the process of brining it to the next level.

The instrument panel lights (dash lights for the gauges, temperature control settings, etc) have been intermittently going out on 2011 Santa Fe V6 Ltd, instead of lighting up when the headlights are on. We can see still the mileage display, the navigation, the clock and the climate control screens, however. Those light just fine, its just the instrument panel that is the problem.
Tonight, we noticed that the tail lights were also out. We think they have been intermittently going with the dash lights at the same time. The brake lights are working fine though.
The problem with the instrumental panel lights started a few weeks ago (we bought the SUV brand new in Jan 2011). When we took the vehicle to have the problem fixed, everything was working fine and they could not replicate the problem or figure out what was causing it. This evening the lights went out again. After we parked the SUV and had dinner, I went back out to it and the lights were working again.
What is causing the problem and how to fix it? Seems like this should be an issue covered by the warranty, but with the problem being intermittent, we can't be sure it will show up when we take the SUV in to the dealer.

I (or rather my dad) have a 2007 avalon limited. I'm trying to install a backup camera for him. I don't know if it's something I did now but I see the outer reverse lights (on the car body, rather than trunk lid) don't come on as they should. Also any tips to install the video interface and/or camera are extremely welcome - it can never be too basic!

I just purchased my camry 3 weeks ago and I noticed that water (from rain and car wash) is going into my tail light and head lights. Not a lot of water, just a little bit. Went to the dealership today and they said it's normal for all toyotas and it'll dry out by itself. Is this true?

My 2001 Outback's tail lights leak water (in) whenever it rains or the car is washed. I've already replaced both bulb sockets due to corrosion, even though I take the bulbs out and let the fixture dry out before plugging them back in. (I overlook the fact that some of my tail lights don't work in the meantime.) Two questions: 1. is there anything that can be done about this to prevent the leak? and 2. is is true that new tail lights, and even new Subarus, have the same problem?

I have water in my Jetta's tail lights and its really annoying. I just had them both out on the weekend and checked out the foam gaskets and they were both fine but i replaced them with an older pair I had that looked in even better shape but basically the same condition...
Rained pretty hard last night and now there is like more water in them then before... I made sure I tightened them down good because they were not that tight when I originally took them off.
There is water condensation in my spare tire well and making my carpet wet and starting to fog up my rear windows..

=I have a Passat TSI 2.0 08 (48.000 Km) and since the begining of the raining season I have noticed that the basis of the lining of the lateral is soaked after rain. In order to investigate it bertter, I have removed the lining and did some tests with water. I came across a problem with the gasket and that hose that drains the water. It looks like the gasket is a little bit loose to press the hose in such a way it insulates its base avoiding water leaking into the trunk. Thus the water rolls outside the hose down to the trunk sides.

Water leaks on both sides of the headliner and c pillars? I'm in the process of re-doing my headliner and I've not noticed that there is water leaking from both sides in the rear of the vehicle. I have a 1998 Dodge Dakota in very good shape. I bought it from my brother who has owned it since 2000. I drove the truck from Reno, NV to southeast Alaska where I live, and all along the pacific coast. It rained a LOT and I noticed pooling of water on the floor at my feet, soaking the carpet completely and pooling up. I thought I was tracking water in the truck from my boots. BUt I have had it here in Alaska for 7 months now, and it is still HORRIBLE! It rains here all the time and I can't get rid of the puddles. There are no plugs in the floor for drainage and I can't figure out where it is coming in. The windshield looks good, and the door seals look good also. I cannot figure out where the water is getting in so I can stop it. THe truck is going to rot and rust if I can't fix it! And here's the thing, the water is pooling on BOTH sides of the floor-passenger and driver. I am baffled. No one ever sits on the passenger side so its not coming from boots! there is no way for water to flow from one side of the floor to the other.

The truck is parked in the drive. I noticed when the truck had been parked in the drive I noticed that the tail lights came on and then about 20 seconds later turned off. I have a 2008 sante fe 3.3 the water pump is leaking. I have the replacement pump, however I'm not sure how it is designed to come out due to clearance issues. It's easy enough to unbolt a pull loose, however clearance between the car frame and pulley is 1/4 inch. How does it come out of the compartment?

I just purchased a 2011 LE Santa Fe,(2400 mi) and have a question regarding water leaking from bottom of the engine. I called the dealer and service rep explained it is more than likely from condensation build up on heater coil and being drained through the vent tube. I believe this is normal and have observed on other vehicles I have owned during the summer months when using AC.
I don't believe I have seen this condition in the winter months 40 - 50 F degrees when using just the heater. I'm hoping this isnt systematic of another problem, that was simply explained away by dealer. It sounds logical but then, again, I have never seen it when using the heater. I do leave heater at full blast when I start the car remotely to warm up cabin temp on those cold chilly mornings.
