In my 2007 SF Ltd 3.3L both the Cig lighter and front console power outlet keep blowing fuses. I've checked inside the of the sockets and they seem just fine. This is no big deal but I would like to charge my phone. What I should look at next?

View 6 Replies08 LS600hL. The cigarette/power outlet in center console shorts out instantly. I have changed the fuse a couple times. Tested several different plugs. The ashtray and rear console power outlets both work perfectly. Nothing else seems to have any issues, radio, windows, climate, etc.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2005 camry le, but just now the power outlet doesnt work. I have checked multiple items in both the outlets, but none of them work. I checked the fuses, but they all look fine. The items work in other cars, just not this camry.

I'm having trouble getting the center box (under the arm rest) removed; I found the 4 screws in it but I'm having trouble getting the cigarette lighter / power adapter out. The outlet doesn't seem to push forward like, say, the one next to the shifter lever. Nor does it seem to unscrew. Am I missing something obvious?
View 3 RepliesWe have a fleet of Prius's with 11k miles on them. Windshield wipers don't work and cigarette lighter plugs don't work. I'm guessing this is due to blown fuses. Where the fusebox is? I'm getting fed up with this. Also, is there a diagram somewhere that shows which fuses are for which circuits? (IE Which number fuses protects windshield wiper circuit) so I can finally see in the rain...

View 3 RepliesThe cigarette lighter adapter inside the center console of my 2010 Prius (next to the USB/iPod and AUX plugs) does not appear to be working, although the adapter underneath the gear shifter works fine. A few weeks ago, I found some coins, which I keep inside that center console that had gotten wedged inside the cigarette lighter adapter cavity. It was after removal of those coins that I first learned that the adapter was not working (I tried a few different devices to make sure that it was the adapter itself not working).
From reading the web, it sounds like the fix may be as simple as replacing the fuse. From what I understand, the fuse is just above the emergency parking brake. If so, where do I purchase a new fuse and how much does a new fuse cost? Also, how do I know which fuse needs replacing? Is that in the instruction manual?
Any possibility that there's an off switch that I accidentally hit?
View 1 RepliesFor some reason, all of my cig lighter sockets stopped working properly. Voltage is steady at around 12.5v but amperage constantly drops to near 0. Fuse is intact of course and all other electrical components are working fine.
What can possibly be a cause of this?? and any solution?? It's been 2 days and I would like to know my options before heading to a dealership.
The power outlet in the tray under the front console in my wife's '08 RX400h has stopped working. I checked all three power outlet fuses indicated in the owner's manual and all are good (75 and 76 in the driver's side instrument panel fuse box and number 21 in the engine compartment (type B) fuse panel). Do I need to start ripping out the tray under the front console to find the problem?
View 2 RepliesI have a 2006 Camry LE. About a year or so ago, my cig lighter power went out (both dash and arm rest.) I replaced the fuses for the Cig and Power Point and they worked again.
Well, they've gone out again. I replaced both of those fuses again and it's a no go. Still not working.
Is there any other fuse it could be? What might have happened here? I'm really hoping it's not a huge expensive fix. It's a huge pain not being able to charge anything, and I was just about to start driving for Uber too. I really need these back online.
Maybe I have a blown fuse? My c is only 4 weeks old but sometimes I use the 12v outlet to inflate my tires, other times charge my iPhone. How can I check it my fuses are blown or not?
View 19 RepliesI've been trying to figure this one out but no luck. I plugged a air pump into the cigarette lighter to air my tire. I lost power to the cigarette lighter And the OBD ll . Went to change the fuse and the fuse was still good although it was a 30 amp and should have been a 20 amp, I'm still getting continuous power to the hot side of the fuse. Is there a fuse or relay I'm missing or did I fry a wire?
View 4 RepliesI have a 96 Ranger . Neither my cigarette lighter or the auxiliary right beneath it works. The fuse checks good at the panel and I also used one of the penlight 12 volt testers and it shows no voltage on the lighter housing. Could there be another fuse under the hood that shares that circuit or do I have an open somewhere and need to tear down the dashboard? I haven't been inside that dashboard since I replace my cluster and the lighter worked after doing so. But I wish to avoid going back in there.

View 3 RepliesSo I have an Android smartphone. That I always put on the charger in my 2005. However. I have blown the fuse to the cigarette lighter. Both the one in the center console and the one under the passenger side dashboard.
The last time that happened. I bought the indicated 15 Amp fuse (as the Owner's Manual indicates - vaguely) Only to find that swapping out fuse 20 IIRC. Yielded no power to those ports.
Every couple of days, my 20 amp cigarette lighter fuse (#13) will blow. It is connected to the lumbar seats, the cigarette lighter, the interior door lock switches (not the key FOB - that is separate). I've tried using a 25 amp and that didn't work.

View 3 Repliesi have a 2003 oldmobile alero and the main cigarette lighter does not work. yesterday i got fuses and it kept blowing them so i figured it was a short and i need a new lighter. the second power outlet on the passenger side works fine and doesnt blow the fuse. how much work do you figure it would be to get a new cigarette outlet and replace it? i mean could i do it myself?
