I have a 2009 Santa Fe Limited with the Infinity sound system.
Last night driving home there was a split-second power pop/fluctuation in my center console. The lights and sound turned off for a split-second. I didn't notice if this also happened with my driving console or exterior lighting system, but the wife seems to think that it was only the centre console.
I recently purchased a 2009 CPO LS460 from my Lexus dealer and cannot get the Aux input in the center console to come up. When I plug my Ipod in, and I push the Disc/Aux button on the ML stereo, all I get is either the CD player or the HDD drive but the Ipod will not show up. Could the Aux jack be bad? I have tried several different cords and inputs (ipod, phone music, etc).
View 7 RepliesThe lid to the center console "pops up" constantly. The release button is so sensitive that it doesn't even have to been pushed down for the lid to pop open. The slightest touch to the button will make the lid open. It is such a nuisance! It will close and stay shut so I know it isn't broken. If I rest my arm on the lid it will sometimes pop open. Lexus made a poor design flaw on this by putting the button in such a touchy place.
View 3 RepliesMy 2007 Santa Fe Limited 3.3L with 102,000 miles started making a grinding/ticking noise yesterday. It's hard to tell but it sounds like its coming from directly under the center console. The noise is directly proportional to the speed and if I put my hand on the shift selector, I can feel the tick vibrations. It drives and shifts fine. What it could be? I'm hoping it's not a transmission issue. I'm thinking something with the AWD connection to the rear wheels.
View 1 Replies08 LS600hL. The cigarette/power outlet in center console shorts out instantly. I have changed the fuse a couple times. Tested several different plugs. The ashtray and rear console power outlets both work perfectly. Nothing else seems to have any issues, radio, windows, climate, etc.
View 4 RepliesI've been experiencing ENGINE RPM FLUCTUATION on cold starts. I took it into the dealer and they found an update available for the ECU and reprogrammed the ECU.

So far it appears to have corrected the RPM Fluctuation on a cold start... I see TSB 10-FL-010 cover this but also suggests to replace the Throttle Position Sensor which wasn't done on my vehicle.
Having problems with center console not shutting properly? A few days ago out of the blue it would not shut, almost as though something was blocking it. If I push really hard it clicks shut but when I go to open it again it takes a lot of unusual force to open.
View 8 RepliesOk, I can live with little things like the drivers side pillar not being completed seated and flush, or the drivers seat rocking a little from time to time.
But the thing that annoys me the most is the center console armrest lid squeaking every time you lean against it. I drove 3 SFS's before I bought mine. All of them squeaked.
Any fix for this to stop it from squeaking? Besides going to the dealer and getting the run around.

View 12 RepliesFor the last week now, the whole center console (navigation, radio, climate controls, etc.) on my 2012 F150 will just go out while I'm driving. Sometimes it will come back on in a few seconds, sometimes it takes 5-10 minutes, sometimes I have to turn the vehicle off and then back on.
I have the extended warranty through Carmax, so I am covered through 100K. I took it into them and the screen was off, and the person checking in the vehicle confirmed it was not working. But of course, when the technician restarted the vehicle, it was working and he has no idea what is wrong nor how too diagnose it since it is working.
2009-10 Toyota corolla hear a lot of noise in the center console below the radio? I know those radio bezels can be noisy along with the area underneath the radio.. The plastic there tends to creak when you go over rough tar roads or uneven bumpy roads. Especially when its hot outside..
Will this be resolved by insulating those area..? Also, when you go over a bumpy road the back of the headliner tends to make a creaking sound..
Anyways, I know nothing about cars, so we'll get that out of the way. For the past few months, my 2010 Corolla S has made a weird creaking sound when I drive on the highway - what this could be? It really only happens when I get above 60-65mph, sounds something behind the radio is falling apart.
It has about 50K miles, and I've had it since it was brand new. This has just recently started.
Maybe this is normal, not sure, but my previous car was a 2001 Camry, and it never made any noises like this.
I was planning on taking it to the shop, but I wanted to ask around first, since I replaced my brakes/rotors in January, and just put 4 new tires on the car - a little tired of throwing money at it!

I have a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder. I noticed that the center console (where the AC, radio are) is running hot under the carpet by my legs (probably about ankle high). I can feel the heat coming off it with my legs. Is this normal and I've just never noticed it before?

View 10 RepliesI have a 2013 Ford F150 XLT Supercrew with the 'jump' seat in the middle. When I fold down the center seat, I hit my elbow while driving and turning.
I'm contemplating removing the center jump seat and replacing it with a Ford center console. Is it just a matter of removing the center jump seat bolts, then bolt in the new center console?

In my 2007 SF Ltd 3.3L both the Cig lighter and front console power outlet keep blowing fuses. I've checked inside the of the sockets and they seem just fine. This is no big deal but I would like to charge my phone. What I should look at next?
View 11 RepliesI took apart the whole center console and then got to the harness which then I cut the speed sensor and then grounded the park brake bothe wires are violet/purple on the #59 harness which is the biggest harness on the back of the nav unit. It was working and everything was fine, I was ready to run wires for the double pole switch and then the DVD had no sound so then I tried several things and still didn't kick in so then I left it that way and waited till the morning and its like the DVD has a back up speed sensor that kicked in so when you come to a complete stop it works.
I know of another speed sensor 2 but that controls the nav so we dont mess with that wire.
Taking apart the car was easy 4 screws and 1.5million clips and snaps.
And in worse condition after having taken it in for routine maintenance. They also damaged the driver's side door, along the edge there are 8 little chips, one of them larger and very noticeable. They touched them up but the one is still visible. Very disappointing, this was my first tune-up.
Anyway I'm wondering, any product I can use to keep it from tearing more, or where I might look for a replacement. It's where the button is but the outer part is also tearing. I know a replacement won't be an exact match.. and I gave it a good look as I was getting out of the car today and noticed it seems to be yellowing.
This is why I never had a light interior. There are also stains - that of course weren't noticeable at first - on the drivers side seat, from the dye in blue jeans. I did manage to get most of it off w/mild soap and water.
It's a 2008 ES 350 UL.
I need to change my rear brakes on my 2010 Matrix. According to my Haynes repair manual, I first need to loosen the hand brake cable which is found under the center console. My problem is, is that I can't figure out how to remove the center console!!! The instructions in the Haynes repair manual for removal of the center console are for 2008 and earlier Matrix models.
View 8 RepliesThe radio trim/bezels around the center console and down to the shifter tend to be noisy when its hot outside and the car driven over rough roads. How to insulate these radio bezels with felt or some kind of insulation so the noise is dampened? I think any rough road tends to make them creak and the hooks tend to rub against the plastic..
