Engine light came on a week ago, finally made it in to get the code pulled yesterday : P0441
From reading on this site, thinking its a faulty purge valve.
I have found pics of its location on an 04, but cant seem to find it on my 08 2.7L.
Just received a P0441 CEL (Evap Emission System Incorrect Purge Flow). I have a 2.7l engine, 2WD. I've read other forums and it seems it's most likely the purge valve or charcoal canister.
View 7 RepliesI've had the check engine light come on and was told it was probably from topping up too much and that it would go off on it's own... I should say I have no issues with idle or rough starts.
I had it scanned at Auto Zone. The print out shows: "EVAP emission system incorrect purge flow probable cause
1) Faulty purge control solenoid
2) Faulty vent solenoid
3) Blocked vapor canister
Previous posts suggest if it were a blocked vapor canister I'd have trouble completely filling the tank so I am hoping it's one of the others. Almost everything I see suggests the purge control and that looks like an easy fix. My concerns are a) if it is the vent solenoid - how hard is that to get at and b) what is the part number as I can't find it listed anywhere? I want to have both on hand before I start trying to fix this. Lastly if it is the vent solenoid should I just give up and see a dealer??
I have a 06 Elantra having a problem with a p0441 code flow fault I changed purge valve and canister purge valve I don't know what else to do what else can I do to get it to go away permanent so I can get car inspected no codes for my car can be on but only 1 i/m
View 3 RepliesI just had my 3rd Canister purge valve installed a month and a half ago, and it's already dead.
I noticed while I was driving that it was constantly pulsing after the engine warmed up, and continued to do so as long as I was driving.** This did not seem normal to me (I can hear it in the cab).
The solenoid is burning up and measures open circuit. No codes are thrown during the time it continues to pulse, but when it burned up again, the 3 codes (P0441 Incorrect Purge Flow, P0440 Solenoid Failure, P0443 Purge Valve Circuit Trouble) are immediately thrown? indicating the solenoid is fried.
The system runs a series of tests during normal operation, so if there was a problem with an actual leak or clog, it should show up as a test failure code, but does not. My inclination is that the problem is a sensor.
My accent currently has just under 17k and about two months ago displayed a cel. I plugged in my innova 3100 code scanner and it displayed p0441. saying it was incorrect purge flow. My question is.. is this covered under the factory warranty. I'm on a very tight budget and I'm trying to find out before going in and finding out. I've owned Hyundai's since 2002 and so far have never paid for an out of pocket repair. But it doesn't hurt to check ahead.. And I've already gotten the standard "it's your gas cap". Ok I'd buy that if it was 10yrs old but it's only a yr and a half old. besides it only goes half a turn then clicks. so it kind of either seals or it doesn't.

I need to replace the evap purge valve. Looking at youtube videos and from other posts it seems easy to replace. My problem is where is it located on this Escape?
Is it under the hood or underneath the driver's side? This is just the valve mind you, not the canister in the back.
2009 Santa Fe GLS 2.7L ~63,000 miles .... Check engine light came on, scanner gave code P0441, but check engine light shut off later the same day. Since then the fuel gauge has been moving around inconsistently. Took it in to mechanic, he said he replaced a leaking hose. Next day, fuel gauge is still a moving target.

1. Ac stopped blowing cold last night out of blue. Still blows just not cold. Replaced bad fuse and drove for 5 minutes. Blew again. Checked out the control/ circuit board but looks ok. Really cant afford dealer.
2. Check engine light problem for months. Gas gauge wasn't working. Replaced fuel sending units and it fixed that but still light. Code says p441. Dealer said need solenoid valve. Replaced both the solenoid valve and the purge control valve. Still check engine light.
2007 2.7 GLS ... I like many have encountered the P0441 code and my Santa Fe stalls after fueling and requires constant revving for a bit to stay going. Previous threads seem to point to the Purge Control Valve.
View 10 RepliesMy Ex is throwing a P1451 Canister Vent Purge valve issue. Is the canister for the Ex hidden on the frame above the gas tank? I looked around the frame in the back of the truck but am having no luck finding it so I'm guessing ill have to drop the tank to get to it. I've read that wire chafing for this valve could be the problem.
View 3 RepliesI need the PCM pinout for a 2002 F150 4.6 For the Purge Control Valve Circuit. If possible the wire schematic would be nice also. Getting code PO443 (( hard code )) I have checked battery voltage at valve connector with key on (( 12.2 volts )) valve resistance is at be 35 ohms so I'm thinking I may have a bad wire or a bad PCM .

View 2 RepliesCEL turned on this morning heading to work. Truck drove completely normal with no signs of altered performance.
Stopped by Autozone after work and they checked it with a code reader.
Came back with P0442 - "Purge Valve Solenoid"
Part sold with or without bracket.
Is this a common part to fail? How can I be sure it has truly failed? Is it acceptable to reset CEL and see if it fails again? If so, how do I reset? Where is part located?
My 2008 Santa Fe has a problem where the heater & A/C work fine, the fan is blowing a lot of air but it will not switch between the defrost, heat & floor locations. Right now about 90% of the air is blowing out on the floor(freezing my feet with A/C) while about 5% comes out of the dash vents and 5% out of the windshield vents. No amount of adjusting will change these. I've changed the cabin air filter which didn't work and have ruled out the fan as it sounds great and pushing a lot of air out at the lower vent.

View 10 RepliesWhere the air suspension release valves are on an 07 LS460? I recently had suspension sensor issues which has resulted in the car being jacked up like a monster truck, and now even with the sensor replaced it will not come back down.
It's almost like the car has detected the fault and disabled the compressor. I have tried pulling the battery to see if that would reset everything but it hasn't worked. I'm hoping that if I can release the valve the car will realize that it everything is back at normal height?
