Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2.7ltr V6 - Small Leak Coming From Pipe Under The Car Near Right Side

Sep 4, 2016

I have recently brought a new used car. In oz. I've noticed a small leak coming from a pipe under the car near the right side, I believe this is the power steering pipe. Any diagrams or links to see where each pipe goes as hard to follow. I have a picture but unable to upload here.

Golf VI R :: Exhaust Leak - Air / Water Condensation Is Coming Out Of Small Pipe?

I installed the non-resonated exhaust, but I noticed that some air/water condensation is coming out of the small pipe that join the cat and non resonated part of the exhaust.

I double checked the position of the small part and is very deep inside the other tubes, plus I checked the clamps too.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Small Coolant Leak - Need A New Head Gasket?

Quick question, my 2007 Santa Fe with 3.3 has developed a small coolant leak. Every so often, I see a few drops on the garage floor and every 6 months or so I need to fill the reservoir with new coolant. So I took it in last Friday at a Hyundai dealership and he said that I need a new head gasket.
So my question is, is that correct? I did a search and most say that if you need a new head gasket, coolant would have leaked into the engine and oil.
When I changed the oil back in June, I don't recall seeing any foam or-or any indication that something is wrong with the oil. Even yesterday, I open up the oil cap and pull the dipstick, every looks normal. I assumed that not all head gasket problems lead to coolant in the oil?

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: 2009 - Small Leak EVAP Code P0456

2009 santa fe 67000 miles. Replaced fuel senders approx a month ago. All was fine. On about the 3rd fill up the cel came on. Code was for small leak evap. checked the gas cap, no problems. Replaced the purge valve and disconnected the battery while doing so. Cel light went off and stayed off thru one tank of gas. Filled up again and thought I detected a little fuel smell shortly after and cel came on again. I only smell fuel when its full and down to just before 3/4's. The light came on right before 3/4's. My husband is beyond frustrated and wants to smash the car lol. Once I get him calmed down where should we be looking for a leak and how to fix it? We can't afford a dealership bill right now and of course it's due for inspection next month.

Code was p0456

The only answer I got in the DIY section is to check around the fuel senders again but I'm leery to do it as I can't see how there would be a leak there, the covers go on SO hard even with that tool.

Ford 6.0L Power Stroke Diesel :: Small Coolant Leak Coming From The Passenger Side Near The Back Of Engine

I have a small coolant leak coming from the passenger side near the back of the engine that forms a spot about the size of a dinner plate if it sits for a few days.

One thing I noticed is if I turn off the AC selector switch when I park I will get the drip but if I leave the switch on MAX AC when I shut the truck off I do not get any leaking.

It is definitely coolant and not just the condensation from use of the AC. If I haven't used the truck for a few days or if I have run it with the AC off I will get the drips.

If I run with the AC on and leave the switch in the on position when I shut the truck off it won't leak. I have tried to locate it from looking above and below but can't determine where it is coming from.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Leak Coming Down Driver Side Rear Shock Absorber

I have a relatively decent standard of DIY mechanics, but I have never worked on a Hyundai before.

I have a leak coming down the drivers side rear shock absorber (the bit that bolts onto the swing arm) this has obviously resulted the the rear of the car riding low, but, is there something I can take apart and replace or do you have to replace the whole thing.

it seems likely that it could just be a seal broken somewhere.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Water Leak - Second Row Passenger Side Seatbelt Is Getting Soaked

I've had a few problems lately with water leaking into the vehicle. The second row passenger side seatbelt is getting soaked, and water can be seen dripping out of the small slot in the wall panel that the seatbelt comes out of. Of course, it all makes its way down to the floor, which gets soaked.

Luckily, I've got third row seating, so the second row passenger side seat flips up and I can get access to the floor and soak up the water with towels.

The leaking only seems to occur when the vehicle is parked with the front pointing uphill (even on very minor grades). I've tried, unsuccessfully, to replicate the problem with a hose, but I only have a level area to test in, and don't have any service ramps to get the front elevated.

From reading various posts on here, and elsewhere, it seems that there are a few possibilities:

- The "dam" that surrounds the sunroof to collect water and send it to the drains is overflowing and water is getting into the wall of the vehicle.
- The sun roof drains are plugged, which may be contributing to the dam overflowing
- The sun roof drain tube has become disconnected inside the roof or wall

Can the rear drain tubes are routed down the "B" or "C" pillar? Depending where they go, I may be able to eliminate a disconnected tube as the problem. I've also read that there was a service bulletin related to increasing the height of the dam, but haven't determined yet if it applies to my vehicle.

Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: Small Leak In Head Gasket

I've been told that the 2002 Santa Fe that I drive has a small leak in the head gasket and that this will be a major problem for the A/C compressor in the not-too-distant future. Supposedly the compressor is located below where the leak is and that over time (5-6 months) this can/will cause the compressor to need to be replaced. Does this seem like a credible scenario?

Golf IV / Jetta IV :: 2002 - Exhaust Leak Coming From Either Manifold Or Flex Pipe

So I did the seafoam trick and I came to the conculsion that my exhaust leak is coming from either the manifold or the flex pipe. There was no smoke coming from under the car only a mist of smoking coming up from the back of the engine, probably by the manifold or the flex pipe. I do not see any visible cracking per say. I have attached a picture of the end of the flex pipe and it almost looks like someone may have tried to seal it before? I don't know if that is normal or not as seen in the picture.

Golf/GTI VI :: Small Oil Leak On Driver Side

I've noticed my oil level dropping very slowly, but more rapidly than normal. It seems to have picked up a bit recently and when I was at a friend's house and parked in his garage, in a half hour I had two nickle-sized oil spots under my car. They are more towards the driver side. The spots had some space in between them, which leads me to believe the oil is coming from up above and it is hitting something on the way down to send it in separate directions.

Santa Fe (CM - 2007-12) :: Grease Coming From Inner CV Axle Boot On Passenger Side

So the other day I was changing the oil on the SF, and I noticed a glob of grease (fist sized) on the passenger side of the frame. After cleaning up the mess it appeared that the grease was coming from the inner CV boot on the passenger side. From my position under the SF I could not see any obvious crack in the boot, and I also squeezed the boot and ran my finger around it in each of the bellows. I still didn't find any rupture. I then began to wonder if the boot had slipped off of the base of the axle. I pushed and pulled on the boot and could not really budge it.

In full disclosure I did change the front struts 2 weeks prior. My only thought is maybe I pulled the boot off somehow during that job. If that was the case though wouldn't I be able to move/dislodge the boot now?

FWIW there is no noise coming from the passenger side that would indicate the CV joint is bad or on its way out.

Camry :: 2007 2GR-FE - Small Oil Leak Detected

Took my Camry into the dealership for some preemptive work. Mechanic located a small oil leak under the car. Went through several iterations of cleaning/driving it for a few days to see if the issue would reoccur, unfortunately it seems to been a consistent leak (small).

The mechanic was unable to fully pinpoint where the leak is coming from (something about the oil riding down the power steering line down). We started off with two potential locations:

washers around/near the VVTI line, the housing on the engine. I've been wanting the metal VVTI line for a while, so I went ahead and replaced it. Unfortunately, the leak continued.

I was advised that in order to work on the housing on the engine (describe as possible bad seal) they would have to remove the power steering and the engine. Estimate to be 15-20 hours. They would remove the housing and reapply the seal.

Would like to reach out to the members of TN for advice. As of right now, the leak is very small and there has been no noticeable oil accumulation on the drive way. Still, this issue is somewhat annoying.

I've attached a pic, there's a very small drip of oil. It's located on mid/passenger side of the bottom bay.

Toyota - Camry :: Small Leak In The Front On Passenger Side

My Toyota Camry (2000) has recently developed a small leak on the front passenger side of the car. The water seems to be coming in from the bottom of the front door about two inches from the door hinges since I can clearly see a water stain there. My mechanic has tried to locate the leak and he seems to think that it may be the windshield. He claims that he hosed it down and he thinks it is the windshield. To repair it he suggested that I will have to re install the windshield. How can I be sure of this?

Ford 7.3L Power Stroke (1999-2003) :: Exhaust Leak At Passenger Side Up-pipe To Manifold - P1211 And P1280

I just finished installing a new turbo (shaft play and lots of oil in the compressor side), RR up-pipes, and T500 (250k and once had a very long crank to get the ICP up to start).

Anyway, except for another exhaust leak at the pass side up-pipe to manifold, it seemed to run okay but with lots of white smoke. I only have about 50 miles after the install, when it suddenly starting surging and made a lot of loud knocking noises. This then went away and came back again rather quickly. I was close to home, so I made back under power. I also received the two codes listed. My IPR is original, but two summers ago I installed the IPR re-seal kit. Everything on the IPR looked good when it came off for the T500.

After reading around, I saw that low fuel pressure / air in fuel can cause problems. I connected a pressure gauge to the pre-filter port on the filter housing, and got 40psi at idle. I then took a diesel shower and blew out the fuel line into the tank. After re-connecting it, the fuel pressure stayed the same but the engines idles much better, but still has blue smoke. It's the original fuel pump (to me anyway) and original fuel line connections.

I have about 3/4 tank, and no place to put it, so I'd need to run it out for the Hutch mod, or least to get in there and inspect. Would eliminating the Ford connections at the pump be worthwhile for now, and is 40psi at idle adequate? Wondering if it's time for a fuel pump?
