View 3 RepliesI have a 2003 santa fe and the blinkers are not functioning but the hazard lights are working fine. I checked the fuse and that is fine. Is there someway I can take apart the handle assembly where the switch for the blinkers are? Also, sometimes they would work and other times they wouldn't so that seems like a loose connection somewhere. The indicators for the blinkers on the dash do not work either so there has to be a problem giving power to the switch.
View 8 RepliesI have a 2006 2.7 gls awd santa fe ,the alternator bearing went bad and got stuck took the alternator to a repair shop to get fixed, put it back on the santa fe the alternator worked just fine now i have the radiator fan and ac fan not working, I turn the ac on and none of then work I wait for the car to heat up and nothing happens I check the radiator fan by connecting it directly to the battery and it works fine ,i have swap the horn relay with the radiator relay and it is working fine. I will check net the fuses, then the thermostat and later on the temperature sensor.
View 29 RepliesMy 2003 santa fe has Issues w the speedometer. It works on and off, specially when going over 65mph.
What do I need to do to fix this problem? Is it a DIY fix?
I recently purchased a used 04 3.5 liter SF. I don't think the AWD system is working. The car has a bit of an odd vibration at 45 mph but I thought this was due to the new all terrain tires on put on the car. There are no check engine lights on in the car and it otherwise drives straight and well.
It just snowed here for the first time in CT this season. I took the santa fe out and tried to start on some hills and it would just spin the front tires and slide backwards. The rear end would not kick in at all. It didnt matter if I had turned traction control on or off. When I look at the snow there are only two front tire marks that spun down into the snow. The rear tire left not skid marks.
There are no strange sounds coming from the rear differential. I know the Santa Fe 3.5 use the Borg and Werner magnetic clutch system and is usually front wheel drive. Is it possible that clutch system is worn out or is it an electrical issue with the front not sending the rear a signal to engage the rear diff?
Replaced bulbs and checked fuses ... if u bump high beams they will flash ...
View 9 RepliesI am having a power steering problem with my 2006 santa fe, been going on for a couple weeks and I am stumped on what is wrong with it, what I noticed is turning to the left or right and very hard to turn and sometimes it will be fine and other times its the left or right.. What could be going on here? there is no leaks or noises noted, it has 242,000 kms on it. fluid is full but a little brown and smells a bit burnt. I know it will need a flush but would that be the solution or would it be something else?
View 15 RepliesWe have an intermittent (now more regular) issue on our 2005 SF of the instrument cluster (tachometer, speedometer, gas gauge, temp gauge) sitting at zero - no motion whatsoever. In the summer months, the gauges came on after a while of AC being on, which I thought odd. But it just happened here in October (and the temp is just around 5C/41F) so a temp issue is unlikely. No OBD codes that we know of, all the fuses are fine, and while we did have a PCSV issue earlier this year, it did not seem to affect this particular issue with the gauges.
Threads such as the one below seem to say that it is the speedometer that is wacky... 01 Santa Fe Speedometer Not Working! , and the general solution to the problem/issue is to replace the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) and associated gear mechanism. And on a different thread, Input Output Speed Sensors , it was suggested that the problem could be addressed by changing the input and output sensors.
I have a 2003 2.7 auto. Quite suddenly the speedo and cruise control have stopped working. Everything else works just fine...
View 2 Replies03 santa fe... During a stereo install the door panels were off and somehow we found a way to screw up the window switch. (the good new's is the stereo sounds awesome) and I can't pass it back onto the installer, he's my brother
all 4 windows stopped working, and of course, they are in the down position which complicates things just a bit
I checked the fuses but they seem ok at least on a visual, although I haven't eliminated that all together the likelihood that its a fuse, or multiple fuses is moving to the bottom of the list.
The window switch, it looks ok on a visual, anything obvious that I can check or look for ? No loose or crimped wires that I can spot.
If the switch itself somehow got fried I can get a replacement, but I'm hesitant to just go out and buy one right now (75ish + ship) and get it in the mail, to get the ball rolling, and god knows what the dealer would want for the part locally. I'll also check local salvage yard to see if at least I can get the part faster if it comes down to that.
Maybe when the new speaker wires were fished through the flex boot we disconnected or loosened the connector under the dash that goes to the switch ?
The rear wiper on one of my two 2004 Santa Fe has stopped working. Checked that the fuses are OK.
Then I swapped the wiper motor and then the control unit to the other Santa Fe & both work in it so are OK.
What else could be causing the problem?
My 2002 Santa FE's cruise control has stopped working, light comes on but no hold or anything, any obvious faults they have that I can try. I checked the fuse, that's OK...
View 7 RepliesI own a 2004 hyundai santa fe and just recently my turn signals have stopped working. My bulbs are fine because they still light up when I lock my car and my hazards work too. The flashing arrows on my dashboard wont show up for my turn signals but they will show up for hazards. I checked the fuse and its completely fine. I am so confused with what is wrong. The only thing I was doing before was messing with my new head unit which involved unplugging a lot of the stereo and fog lights and hazards but that all should have no affect on my turn signals.
View 6 RepliesI have a 2003 hyundai santa fe 2.7 V6, the problem i am facing is i want to fix my rear wiper as it is not working, I order a new rear wiper motor as my old rear wiper motor was completely rusted, so i got a brand new one with a new wiper now the problem is it still does not work, i checked the fuse as well but it still is not working.
the only last option i can think of is rear wiper control module, how do i check that or does any one has any clue how to fix the rear wiper as mine is not working at all.
Blower only works on high speed. From what I have read the problem is either the switch or the motor resistor. I am leaning toward the resistor which is behind the glove box. Where can I find directions for removing the Glove box?
View 1 RepliesI was recently on a road trip, using my cruise control extensively (like usual) when it just quit working. I tried to reset to a lower speed, but it would rev itself back up to the original speed. I turned off the cruise control, drove a mile or so and turned it back on. The cruise dash light came on, but the right control buttons no longer worked. No check engine light. It's never worked since.
My local tire shop checked codes and found the tcm not communicating with the mod (cruise module?). I'm looking to take it to the dealer, but I'd like to be better informed with what I may be dealing with before I get there.
This morning my speedometer started behaving erratically. The needle would swing plus or minus 10 miles per hour. driving home from work eventually it would not respond at all. I also noticed when I attempted to use the cruise after that it was not working either. I'm thinking these issues are connected. Do i need to replace the speed sensor that is on top of the transmission?
View 2 RepliesI have a low beam that just isn't working at all on the right side. I changed the bulb 3 times now, confirmed I had the right dual beam bulb (Sylvania 9003) and still the same result. The low beam doesn't work on the right side, but the high beam works.
2002 Hyundai Santa Fe GL 2.4 CYL ...
2.0 crdi santa fe stopped and engine management came on took it to dealer and they said no code to read ..got second opinion and the guy read the code and came up with 001 ..p1181 int.air var ctl.sol ..he also said that he thinks it an injector problem rather than this ...the car will start with a tow and drive a short distance and stop again.
View 2 RepliesThe rear door hatch on my 2002 Sante fe is not working. The Latch freezes in position to the handle and does not release or rebound back to the normal position, the door remains locked. I have taken the inner door cover apart, lubricated working controls and checked for any broken items.
View 14 RepliesNever had any issues with it before and was working fine on a trip a couple of weeks ago. On the way home I had it on, we stopped to get some food, and then when we started up again cruise control wouldn't turn on at all. I tried turning on and then setting, but nothing happened so I don't think it's the light. Checked the fuse and it looks fine (no noticeable distortion or break to the wire anyway) and brake lights all work.
