Today i had my ac running and switched the speed from 3 down to 1, then poof totally went off and will not come back on at all. I tried replacing the resistor, still nothing. Next tried the blower motor, still nothing. Then replaced all the fuses, still nothing. The compressor is kicking on. Can here the click under the passengers side when turning ac on, but the blower motor is not coming on.

I find myself having a really hard time sliding the motor back in. It was difficult to pull out before and now it's nearly impossible to put back in.
The Fan wheel measures 5 3/4"
I believe the issue has to do with prefab installation and a very large wheel causing this to be too difficult to push in at an angle.
I see different dimensions for fan wheels and I'm thinking that may be the key.
I already have to replace the blower motor.
I have an 02 Santa Fe and last night while driving the fan would not turn off. It also started switching speed by itself.

I'll probably clean it out and spray something in it before I replace it but I just wondered how hard it is to get to. On another note, this 4 wheel drive Santa Fe rocks in the snow! I can't believe what good traction it has!
View 3 RepliesI have an 04 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5L V6 AWD with climate control. All other trucks this year I've only seen with manual HVAC controls. My blower motor is constantly running anytime the key is turned on. It feels like it is blowing 3/4 strong all the time and I can turn it up, what feels like one setting higher. Even if the climate control is turned off it keeps blowing. I can control the temp and AC and defroster, I just cannot control the actual airflow pressure from the vents. On an older car this seems like a resistor issue. Is this a common issue? If so, what can I do to try to rectify this?
View 4 RepliesI have an 03 Santa Fe, 2.7 l AWD. Recently I've begun to notice a whining almost electric motor like sound coming from the rear of the engine. It get more noticeable the longer the trip. The weird thing is that it seems to respond to throttle input more than speed. If I'm cruising at say 65 I can ease off the throttle, reapply the throttle enough to increase RPM but not speed and hear it. I've had the differential, brakes, bearings checked. My mechanic has had it in the air 4 times and has spent atleast 4 hours on two occasions trying to find it. He can hear it. My thoughts are that it could be the Fuel Pump, or the exhaust.

I found the cabin air filter was pretty bad and that surprised me because I don't drive in dusty areas etc and usually don't drive much at all any more since I got a company car but anyway....to the question: AFTER I changed the filter, making sure the airflow arrow was correct, I noticed that the blower motor is much noisier than before especially when set on the higher fan speeds. The sound is much like a off balance fan with a bit of a thump to it. Could I have dropped some of the dead bugs into the fan when I changed the filter? I was careful and didn't see anything fall into the fan area but the noise is annoying as heck. Is this something that would be covered under Hyundai's warranty? Headed to the Florida Keys Saturday and not looking forward to hearing that racket all the way down there.
View 3 RepliesMy girlfriend has a 2005 accent and recently the blower motor started working intermittently.. After a couple of days of it coming on and off it now wont come on at all.. After checking the 30amp fuse under the hood, and the relay they all seemed to be in good shape, I even swapped them out with other fuses and relays to make sure that wasn't the problem. I checked for power at the Motor and it has 12 volts going to it when the fan switch is on.. so I pulled the blower motor itself and connected it directly to a 12 volt source and it worked, eliminating the possibility of the motor itself being seized. Now I read up on a few sites on how to check the resistor, so I did a few continuity tests on the resistor itself and didn't see anything out of the normal.. What I should check next or what the actual values on the resistor check I should be reading..

About a month ago, the blower motor stopped coming on all the time. A quick whack under the glove box fixed it when it didn't start. Then about a week after that, I felt like the AC wasn't really warming when needed. This may have been true earlier, but it hasn't been that cold around here, so I wouldn't have noticed, perhaps.
About a week ago, I start hearing what I might describe as a rattling kind of noise I had never heard before sometimes under hard acceleration. Not always. Didn't hear the noise tonight, for example. Of course, then, tonight, on the interstate, the warning light pops up for just long enough for the temperature indicator to flash up. It quickly disappeared, but in the remaining two minutes I was driving, it flashed up briefly twice more.
Now, in digging around on this topic, I've read about issues with the inverter coolant pump, and that there was a recall. How could I find some information on this recall? I don't remember ever having it changed, so I'm just curious what I might need to say to get that swapped out under a recall if appropriate.
Also, based on what I've said, does it seem likely that the issue is with that pump? It sure seems to fit the bill, but who knows. I'll be bringing the car in ASAP but I'd naturally like to be armed with as much information as possible.
I have a 2001 GMC Jimmy and I am having an issue with the blower motor. Speeds 1 and 2 do not seem to work. Speeds 3 and 4 work fine. This is the manual climate control not the automatic. I searched and it seems everyone usually has a problem with the high speeds & not the low speeds...
View 9 RepliesFirst bit of cold weather and I'm getting thirty seconds of loud clicking (or clacking) coming from the immediate vicinity of the blower motor on start up and shut down. Doesn't matter whether my climate control is on or off, it still makes the noise. I'm assuming it's stripped out teeth on one of the blend door actuator gears and I'll probably just end up replacing it. My problem: Where exactly is the offending actuator? I've removed the glove box and noted one located on the left side. I unplugged this but am still getting the ratcheting sound so it obviously isn't the culprit. I had this happen a few years back (same time of year) and out of ignorance and frustration solved it with a well aimed kick but the way it's acting this time I don't think I've got a big enough boot.
View 4 RepliesI noticed that I have an unusual "rumble" noise coming from the location of my ac blower motor when it kicks in full blast. When the air temp comes down a bit and the AC slows down or if I switch the ac off full blast under climate control, the noise goes away. I have never noticed this before and am wondering if it is my ac blower motor starting to fail.

The just defrost is probably a vacuum issue, but I do not have any book for this truck, so I have no vacuum or wiring diagrams. As far as the blower motor, I am thinking switch or motor, fuse has been checked? Is there any other "control" box involved with this year/model? Also any dash tear-out instructions, to make the access easier?

I noticed this morning idling that the vents weren't blowing then when i was moving i heard it tick back on and would blow normally. This happens when driving too but more noticeable when idling. The AC light also flickers and goes on/off.
I can go ahead and replace it again but this seems to have gone through this brand new relay pretty fast. What I can fix to stop going through relays?
I have strange issue with my a/c fan, its running continues even will the a/c switch is off.

View 1 RepliesI have a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5 litre 4wd and am having a crazy problem. It has the automatic heating and air conditioning module (digital). The heater fan comes on as soon as i start the engine and runs in the 2nd highest speed. I can adjust it so it goes one speed higher but never lower than the one it comes on at and cannot shut it off. It operates the same under heat OR A/C modes. The temperatures adjust o.k. but it is always on. Where would i find the a/c control module? Could it be the transistor or resistor and where are they located?

Question:
1- Problem more likely to be from the relay or the fan switch? Should I just replace the relay?
2- I can see and touch the fan relay, but how do I get to it to replace it? What dis-assembly is required?
I just purchased a 2006 Santa Fe Limited with the 3.5l for a great deal. It has a huge coolant leak though that needs fixed. It is coming from the top of the motor on the left side by the timing belt. It is really a small flood, when you fill the coolant and turn on the motor it runs across the top of the motor toward the drivers side. There isn't oil in the coolant and it doesn't smoke. I had it dropped off at my mechanic though. Does the motor really need pulled in these to do the head? I heard that there is a overflow channel from the water pump that comes out right about there as well. Could that maybe be it? Any other options if it is the head gasket to reduce the cost any?
