View 1 RepliesI just changed the alternator in my 02 2.7l and now it is acting like it's not charging the battery. It's bucking and popping like before I changed it. I had to jump the battery and it drove fine for a while then I lost all power and no dash lights or anything. All the warning lights came on also. The headlights were dim and the car was bogging and bucking. I checked the ground and the battery is about 2 years old. Tomorrow I am going to get the battery checked and scan for codes. I also just replaced the starter a month ago. What could be the cause of this?
View 9 RepliesA few years ago my auto transmission in my 3.5 L engine hyundai santa fe started shifting rough from 2nd to 3rd gear, i did a trans flush and changed the input output sensors, anyway last week it started again, so i just changed the input output sensors again, it did not fix the prob this time, do you think a flush would work.
View 4 RepliesHere's the run down:
-bought 6 months ago for cheap because it wouldn't pass smog test
-changed Purge Control Valve (PCV) and it passed
-filled with gas, heard popping noises like a backfire, and coded it read the same "Bank 1 and Bank 2 running lean, like it did before the PCV and then also "Cylinder 3 Misfire" appeared.
-At this point the car started running rough, at idle, and through acceleration...sputtering uphill, and when climbing through the gears.
-Changed the plugs & wires
-NOW, it's cylinder 5 misfiring, and not nearly as bad. It's idling and running rough, acceleration has somewhat come back, but it's definitely not 100%.
Should I start with the PCV again, since it's not starting after I fill the tank, and climbing gears slow? Is there anything else I should be checking?

I have a 1999 Ford Expedition with 163,000 miles. The vehicle registers a service code of P0171 and/or P0174, lean mixture. The vehicle starts fine, but may stall or hesitate when first started or at red lights. While driving, there is no issue.
I just replaced the MAF sensor and the EGR sensor, but no change in the condition. In 2007 or 50K miles ago, the oxygen sensors were replaced. What could be the problem or solution?
I changed both oxygen sensors yesterday on my 1997 Accord.
Check Engine Light was on and I was getting codes:
P0135 - O2 Sensor Heater Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 1
P0141 - O2 Sensor Heater Malfunction Bank 1 Sensor 2
Also, after clearing the codes, if I started the vehicle the codes would come on instantly. So it wasn't some kind of flaky electrical issue, it was consistent.
I've changed the upper and lower O2 sensors the Manifold/Cat and still getting the code. Was wondering if the the valve guide seals would give off this code.
View 3 RepliesI have a 2005 Impala with the 3.4 engine and 118,000 miles. About 2 years ago I had a code P0141 and since we didn't know for sure which oxygen sensor was out we replaced both of them. The P0141 code did not stop occurring after both sensors were changed. I read on an Impala forum that if you didn't replace the sensors with AC Delco the codes would continue so I didn't worry about it until my gas mileage starting going down recently. I ordered new AC Delco oxygen sensors and my husband replaced them Saturday, the old ones were sooted up pretty badly. Today a new code appeared, it is P0140, O2 sensor circuit no activity. What the problem might be now.
View 7 RepliesI have a 1999 B4000 V6 4.0L with 78K miles on it. I recently had P0171 and P0174 error codes come up. I replaced the MAF sensor and have not had the codes return but now the truck will basically stalls out when sitting at a stop light. It does not do it all the time just randomly. It has never done it when engine is cool but only once up to temp. The idle is smooth at cold engine but begins to get rougher once warmed up (nothing too bad just noticeable). I cleaned the IAC with MAF cleaner but no joy. I reseated all plug cables at the coil but no change. RPM around 600-700 then fluctuates up a bit then truck will stall quickly( I usually cannot put other foot on gas in time to get it to increase RPM before it dies)....
View 5 RepliesI have Santa Fe 2002 v6 2.7 and it's have been in the mechanic for 2 months now.
Suddenly my gear box don't go up 3rd, the error that the diagnostic reader is P 1528. What it can be? How to Fix it?
I've checked the lines from the Purge Valve on the Passenger side of the Intake Manifold, Check OK
I've Checked that Valve OK
I've Replaced the Canister Close Valve
I've got the Gas Cap tight.
I've removed the rubber bushing holding the CCV to the Evap Canister, hoping to isolate the Filter and point the blame on it, no luck there!!
I'm thinking next is to drop the Tank and check over all the Goodies on top.... as much as I hate the thought of that, the two access holes under the seats, just don't allow access to enough of the tank!
any thing there that I could suspect, I see there's a check valve!
There's also the Fuel Tank Pressure Sensor, which may be at fault.
It seems that i'm most likely going to have to replace the entire plenum .
P1159 here are some details. [URL]..................
I've checked all connecting wires and none appear to be loose. When the issue started to occur and prior to discovering the P1159 code, I also replaced all coils. I replaced the coils because one was arching over to the metal of the engine. I assumed this may be my problem. The issue still persisted obviously. The check engine light never came on so I assumed I wouldn't get a code. I took it over to a friends house with a code reader and that's when I discovered that it was actually giving the P1159 code.
Are there any other model cars that utilize the same engine that I could use the plenum from? Getting this in working condition is going to be the difference in what I can get for it.
I have a 2003 diesel GS Santa Fe, every now and then when driving the ABS light comes on, not very often but it does, if I switch the ignition off and restart it goes out, I had it on a fault finder computer and it showed code c1274, I think its something to do with the G sensor and the way it breaks (ABS) is it an easy fault to fix? What are the costs involved and will it affect the driving of the car, like I say it rarely comes on and I don't notice any change in how it drives.
View 1 RepliesSo the check engine sign came up on my car and using the OBD it tells me the error is P0113. After googling the information, it looks like I have an issue with IAT sensor.
I opened the air filter and what I believe what could be the sensor and there was nothing clogging up, so I'm assuming the sensor needs to be replaced
Question is where is the IAT sensor located and how do I dis-assemble it so I can replace it. Is it the piece that is located just before the air filter?
I just joined the forum mainly to care of my dads 2001 Hyundai Santa Fe but also I got a check engine light on my way home from work last night.
From last night I saw that oil was all over the timing belt. Today I inspected it with a Coworker and his OBD II reader.
Error Code was P0455, EVAP - Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak).
Now the oil leak is stronger since the oil spills is on hood (inside hood). I will make a picture tonight when I get home.
I personal think it's leaking from a tube/ valve on top of the timing belt (picture will show more tonight). Thinking of cleaning the timing belt area, then drive a little around or leave it in idle to spot where the leak is from.
Common issue? I googled around but since P0455 is a common issue (on my 9-2x as well) I couldn't find anything about this I am also limited from my search since I am currently at my work PC incl. strong firewall.
I will see if google let me find a picture...
Engine light come on and everything is running great, this morning got this error code U0d00. Went to advanced auto and had them run a scan.
View 5 RepliesMy Hyundai Santa Fe 2006 V6 3.5L shows error code P2100. I cannot for the life of me find the ETS relay. Ive scoured the net but just found vague drawings and pics that didn't show ETS relay. I would also like to know is the ETS relay also known as the fail safe relay or is that a separate relay. Ive seen pics of the fail safe relay but none for the ETS relay. If there is such a relay, exactly where it is located?
View 2 RepliesI got an Error Code of U0D00. What this is or means. The scan tool says to refer to your manual but I don't have one.
What the vehicle is doing is that it will work fine for a while then when you stop (in park) the engine will rev really high and back down all by it self for example. It will go up to 3.5 and back to 1 rpm repeated. Then when you start moving the car it will continue to idle higher like you are pressing the gas. During all of this the check engine light will appear?
I am owner of brand new Golf Sportsvan 1.4 92kw petrol, 6 speed manual. Since day two ive been noticeing that something might be wrong with my car. Second day of ownership i was greeted by TPMS, ESC, Auto hold and Stop start system error all at once, and parking sensors were beeping and button was flashing. Ive been reading about it and its not new for MK7 owners as i can understand. But what worries me most is the revs when the engine is cold and i start it up first time. Did a video and uploaded it. [URL] .....
Weird thing is i only get errors when its cold start, i mean for example yesterday and today it was cold here (-5 degrees celcsius) and car started up with no errors, but the revs where bouncing up and down like seen on video. Sometimes i get those 4 errors aswell and rev problem, sometimes only rev problem, but when the engine is at the working temperature i get no errors, no shakey revs.
Otherwise love the car. Solid build quality, Spacious, Like the pyramid gold color, lovely car, beside those gremlins.
I took the car to be inspected today (for extended warranty purposes) and asked for the mechanic to run the car through their code reader and print out all error codes. They did and this is the error code it gave for TPMS (FYI- They couldn't reset the error display either, and I've done the 'learning' procedure several times as suggested in these forums, but it doesn't work and the display eventually shows Tire Monitoring Pressure Fault) NONE of the tires show in the TPMS screen. I have no flats, nails, and all the pressures are up to level.
So here is the actual code from the Phaeton:
CODE001:
01325 Type pressure sporadic monitoring
Open contr.unit-j5-0 circuit 2
So what I am wondering is whether the Module has gone bad or perhaps the sensors? What the above means?
