How hard is it to change the A/C/Heater blower motor. I know about the switch problems but this is the blower motor. I'll probably clean it out and spray something in it before I replace it but I just wondered how hard it is to get to. On another note, this 4 wheel drive Santa Fe rocks in the snow! I can't believe what good traction it has!

View 5 RepliesToday i had my ac running and switched the speed from 3 down to 1, then poof totally went off and will not come back on at all. I tried replacing the resistor, still nothing. Next tried the blower motor, still nothing. Then replaced all the fuses, still nothing. The compressor is kicking on. Can here the click under the passengers side when turning ac on, but the blower motor is not coming on.

I find myself having a really hard time sliding the motor back in. It was difficult to pull out before and now it's nearly impossible to put back in.
The Fan wheel measures 5 3/4"
I believe the issue has to do with prefab installation and a very large wheel causing this to be too difficult to push in at an angle.
I see different dimensions for fan wheels and I'm thinking that may be the key.
I already have to replace the blower motor.
I have an 02 Santa Fe and last night while driving the fan would not turn off. It also started switching speed by itself.
View 2 RepliesI have a 2005 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5 litre 4wd and am having a crazy problem. It has the automatic heating and air conditioning module (digital). The heater fan comes on as soon as i start the engine and runs in the 2nd highest speed. I can adjust it so it goes one speed higher but never lower than the one it comes on at and cannot shut it off. It operates the same under heat OR A/C modes. The temperatures adjust o.k. but it is always on. Where would i find the a/c control module? Could it be the transistor or resistor and where are they located?

View 1 RepliesI have an 04 Hyundai Santa Fe 3.5L V6 AWD with climate control. All other trucks this year I've only seen with manual HVAC controls. My blower motor is constantly running anytime the key is turned on. It feels like it is blowing 3/4 strong all the time and I can turn it up, what feels like one setting higher. Even if the climate control is turned off it keeps blowing. I can control the temp and AC and defroster, I just cannot control the actual airflow pressure from the vents. On an older car this seems like a resistor issue. Is this a common issue? If so, what can I do to try to rectify this?
View 4 RepliesI got a new resistor since my last one was in a puddle of water and installed that today and still have no heater blower motor. I checked all the fuses and have power. I sent power to the blower itself and it spins good. So somewhere between the fuse and the blower it isn't working. I need to take the controls out and test for power there. Didn't have time to do that today. What wires to check or where to start trouble shooting?

View 1 RepliesWent to have an oil change....service rep came in with my cabin air filter and said it needed to be replaced, I told him "later" as they charge too much for a simple filter.
Two days later I had the need to run my blower on high and it vibrated rather loudly.. I tried different positions on the vent switch but nothing worked.. then it came to mind the Jiffy lube incident. I went in and pulled the cabin air filter out and saw nothing wrong there. Upon further inspection I found a piece of an acorn in the blower wheel.
Moral of this story...if you changes cabin air filter, be sure to check for any debris that may fall off the old filter into the blower wheel when it is removed.
Recently bought a 2003 E350. The front heater/ac blower motor isn't working. I found the control switch melted and bought a new switch. Before installing it, I need to do some diagnostics. I checked the blower with a couple of jumpers ant it turns and blows. I think that leaves the blower motor resistor. Where it is on a 2003 E350? I also need to check the relay. I have a power distribution box at the front left under the hood. Is the relay there? The box is not labeled like my GM products. Which is the blower motor relay? Finally, which fuse controls the blower motor? I read it might be a 40 amp fuse. If so, that might narrow it down.
View 6 Replies99 Explorer Blower motor quit working. Disconnected and hot wired to a battery and blower motor worked. So I know it is in the switch and/or wiring. I need this truck everyday so going into the shop is out. Live in Northern Mn and the temp was -15 degrees. So as a temp fix what does everybody think of running a wire from the battery to a switch inside and then to the blower motor and then to a ground. Would have a inline fuse. If this will work what gauge wire and what amp fuse would you use. Its getting cold without heat.

Blower motor was working fine. I decided to remove cabin filter. Filter had not been changed for very long time. There was a lot of dirt, pine straw and leaves on top of the filter. When I removed the filter a lot of dirt fell inside the motor. Ever since then motor is working on and off. Often have to hit under the glove box and it works again for a while. Tried to remove the blower but could not get to it.
Several weeks ago, the blower motor in my 2010 stopped blowing. It came on within a day or so, but failed again, so I replaced it with a new part from Rock Auto: TYC 700249.
The new fan just stopped again. I plugged the harness in and out several times and it did briefly come on a few times, but clearly something else is going on.
I don't know if it's relevant, but after I took out the OEM fan, I experimented by removing the plate from its back that has wires and capacitors (actually, I don't know what I'm talking about) and connected the main prongs directly to a 12V battery. It came on right away. I installed the new fan anyway, figuring it was the plate/wires assembly portion that was bad. The "resistor?"
I am not great with electrical but can manage. Here's the deal, Ihave a 1997 ford ranger 2wd 2.3L 5spd with a/c 233,000 miles i just replaced the heater blower motor resistor as the old one was rusted bad as was the pig tail going to it bad that one of the terminals broke off and was rusted in the harness so i replaced the plug as well problem is i still have no fan if i jump it it works but have no power at the plug for resistor or motor and no power at the switch inside the truck I do have power to one terminal where the relay plugs in, where to look next?

View 2 RepliesI am new to the world of the Cadillac. I bought a nice 1994 Deville for $500 at auction. I replaced the water pump and put two new tires on the front. It is my daily driver I use for work, I put about 96 miles a day on it. The gas mileage is actually really good due to 90% of my drive is on the highway.
The only issue I am currently having is that the Heater/AC blower motor keeps running until I pull the plug under the hood. I started looking up solutions only to find that there really seems to be very little in the way of getting good information.
I have one side saying it's the blower motor itself
another saying it's the BMC
another saying it's the heater/ac programer
and still another saying there is no cure just pull the fuse
When I checked here I found one person with the same problem back in 2011, but there was no resolution.
I am struggling with it, and need to get it done - by myself, as I can't afford a service job. I am handy, and comfortable doing it, But I am confused about how to get into the blower housing.
View 4 RepliesI have a 2000 Ford Windstar Van with 155,000 miles on it. A problem has developed with the electrical system/components. The van will start and run fine. With the engine running, there is no instrumentation, power windows do not work, wind shield wipers do not work, radio does not work, heater blower motor does not work. After the engine has been shut off, the radio will work, windows will work, door locks until such time as you open the door, then all quits. With the key in accessory, the windows work, door locks work, radio works, etc. The neutral module was replaced (the old one, none of the contacts appeared to be burnt). Ford dealer spent an hour trouble shooting - checked body modules (2) - found nothing.
View 4 RepliesOur 03 Civic recently went into the shop for a rotor replacement and the shop did an oil change for us while they were at it. My wife got the car back and she immediately noticed that the "AC" wasn't working. After asking a few additional questions (I'm not in the same city this week), it isn't the AC that isn't working, the fan/blower isn't turning on at all. We had the same shop check it out again and their response was that they weren't anywhere near the blower motor so this just has to be a coincidence. I could accept that but I'm still worried about a scam.
The car was in the shop just to have the rotors put on, not an oil change but they did an oil change for us anyway. (I was going to change the rotors myself but I couldn't get the caliper hangers off and it was 100+ degrees outside so I decided to have the shop mess with it), Would it be easy to sabotage the blower motor on this car?
