Santa FE SM (2001-06) :: 2005 - ABS And TCS Lights Come On Intermittently

The ABS and TCS lights on my 05 SF 2.7L come on together intermittently. This started few days ago. So far I have not experienced any symptoms or problems. When the lights come on, they remain on until the ignition is switched off. Then it may not come on during the next trip.
I researched this online and from what I have read and understood, this appears to be caused by a problem with the speed sensor at the wheels, likely a damaged tone ring. I called a Hyundai dealer and after much discussion they said they 'might' cover this under power train warranty, but only if the lights coming on are due to damaged tone ring.
My question, is there a way I can inspect the tone rings? If yes, how? Also, what kind of code scanner do I need to get the ABS TCS diagnostic trouble codes?

My dash lights have a weird glitch when the headlights are on. I can hear a click and the dash lights will go out and immediately back on almost like a blink.

I have a 2005 2.7L Santa Fe that was shifting poorly and getting stuck in limp mode intermittently. I read up on it and found that it was probably an issue with the input/output speed sensors. The codes confirmed my suspicions and I replaced both the input and output sensors. The codes cleared and the tranny shifted like a dream. Unfortunately after 2 days and 100+ miles the car suddenly started down shifting randomly on my way home from work. The CEL came back on and the car went into limp mode. Could the sensor have gone bad again? Or could it be the wiring harness that plugs into one of the sensors? I don't understand why the car would be fine for a few days and then all of a sudden be acting the same way.

Just bought a Santa Fe CRTD CDX on UK plates 2005 year model. After successful test drive took the vehicle home. After 20-30 minutes driving the ABS light came on. Restarted the vehicle and had no problem for next hour.
Next day same procedure so went to Hyundai dealer. After plugging in his laptop he said the sensor near the hand brake was the problem. This was replaced and had no problem all day.
Next day after 30 mins driving on came the light again. Took the vehicle back to the garage where I bought it and its been there for 4 days. They say the light has not come on, but I would question whether they would drive around for 30-60 minutes.

A couple of weeks ago I had to have the cam sensor, and the crank sensor on my 2005, 2.7 v6, Santa Fe changed. Since the change on long drives the ABS, and the TCS light will come on simultaneously, and it almost feels like the ABS is being activated without any real reason too.

So I lent my santa fe to a buddy to do some hauling, I got it back yesterday and the turn signals and the brake lights don't work...notta. Regular running lights are working without issue, but no turn signals, no hazards, no brakes. Even the "tick, tick, tick" of the turn signal is gone, it's just dead.

The instrument panel lights (dash lights for the gauges, temperature control settings, etc) have been intermittently going out on 2011 Santa Fe V6 Ltd, instead of lighting up when the headlights are on. We can see still the mileage display, the navigation, the clock and the climate control screens, however. Those light just fine, its just the instrument panel that is the problem.
Tonight, we noticed that the tail lights were also out. We think they have been intermittently going with the dash lights at the same time. The brake lights are working fine though.
The problem with the instrumental panel lights started a few weeks ago (we bought the SUV brand new in Jan 2011). When we took the vehicle to have the problem fixed, everything was working fine and they could not replicate the problem or figure out what was causing it. This evening the lights went out again. After we parked the SUV and had dinner, I went back out to it and the lights were working again.
What is causing the problem and how to fix it? Seems like this should be an issue covered by the warranty, but with the problem being intermittent, we can't be sure it will show up when we take the SUV in to the dealer.

I have a 2001 Santa Fe with manual (knob) A/C control panel. the problem i am having is that when i turn the A/C on the A/C light on the control panel comes on and it works fine but in the last few months i have noticed that the A/C light will turn off intermittently. This almost seems like the A/C button has a bad contact because i just touch it and the light comes on and I feel cold air again.
1. I have not taken the panel our but is this serviceability or do I need to replace the whole control unit?
2. Also is this a dealer or junk yard part only or are the there third party manufacturers for it?
3. Since i have the manual control and if i have to replace the unit can i order the digital (push button) control and just easily connect it or is it more involved that that. like i might have to replace other components for the digital control to work or modify the opening or what not.
I do not believe this is the compressor because it seems more related to the the A/C button itself. I checked refrigerant and everything seems ok.

I have a 2006 Santa Fe 2.7L that has the engine light that comes on and off intermittently. I went to the Auto Part Store and they read the computer and said it was O2 Sensor Bank 2 Sensor 1. I believe that is the upstream sensor on the radiator side (top sensor before the converter) but am not 100% sure.
Also, I am confused when they say left side and right side of the engine as the engine is transfixed. Is left side the driver's side of the engine or is it firewall side? Where the left and right sides are.
For example, the computer readout said O2 sensor upstream right but the tech said bank 2. are they one and the same?

I just installed new front brakes and rotors on my 2004 2.7L AWD, and since then the brake warning light on the dash comes on occasionally. Typically, it will turn on when applying the brakes. Usually for a longer period of time to a stop. (Rolling up to a stop sign/stop light, rather than slowing down for a turn). It will either stay on for about 15 seconds or not go off until I hit the brakes again. My e-brake handle is all the way down.

Front and back brakes heating up and locking on intermittently brake pedal feels normal this has happened 3 times over the last 500 km of driving pedal not sticking down break fluid ok no swelled lines today noticed front left and rear right rotors were hotter than front right and rear left once vehicle sits they release and all is good no abs lights or any other warning lights on.

The AC/power steering belt in my 2004 Santa Fe, 2.4L has intermittently squealed for some time, but lately the squeal has gotten louder. Initially it only happened when the compressor was on, but now it happens when the compressor is off. I have not experienced a loss in steering power but I did notice that the power steering fluid appears to be discolored. I have replaced the belt and re-tensioned it several times hoping this would solve the issue, but it hasn't. I intend to take the belt off again and see if the pulleys all spin freely. When I replaced the belt initially, everything did spin freely. My guess is that the power steering pump may be shot and is putting excessive load on the belt, however, there is no PS pump "whine" and again, no loss of power steering. It looks like I should also check for separated pulleys.

I have a 2002 Hyundai elantra GT. Since I've got the car last year I've had this intermittent problem with the dash lights coming on every once in a while not really a lot at all. It never bothered me before because they would come on for maybe two minutes then turn off and didn't cause any problems whatsoever.? I think because they were coming on during the day. I never realized it happening at night time. In the last month the lights came on at night time and blew out all my headlights. I replaced them three times already. 2001 Honda Accord 4 cylinder... At 256K miles I had the battery and open doors, open trunk lights illuminate intermittently. Initially the lights came on for 1/2 mile. 150 miles later it was more like 20 miles on, off for a mile, on for 40 miles, off for 25 miles, on for 10 miles, and then off. A Honda dealer ( after the first 20 miles of battery light being on and 70 miles from home) replaced the battery and the lights came back on a mile down the road. I managed to get home. With engine running running battery voltage was 14.4 volts. The light stayed off for 30 miles the next day. AutoZone found no diagnostic codes. A mechanic told me that the battery light could be intermittent with a failing alternator. I changed the alternator (cracked case). The voltmeter again showed 14.4 volts with engine running. Will the car return to reliability?

I know to some this seems like a little thing, but over time is it is really driving me nutz. Especially in the winter when I get home in the dark and I need to retrieve things from the trunk and I can't see a thing.
I also drive my daughter's friends around back and forth to practice and I can't even tell you how many things get left in my car.
Any easy way to install something aftermarket that doesn't take a degree in electronics?

I have a 2005 Santa Fe which I brought brand new in 2005. After 48,000 the transmission was shot, the fluid was black it was a mess. I had the tranny serviced at about 30,000 miles and thought everything was ok. My dealer replaced the tranny under warranty and said it failed, thats it. Ok.....64,000 miles later the second transmission just failed. Keep in mind the dealer serviced the transmission twice and now this one is shot. Being out of warranty, Hyundai wants me to pay for a new one, I opted to get it rebuilt at a local shop. My question is other that why aren't these transmissions lasting, am I alone or this quite common.

I recently purchased a 2005 SantaFe LX with a 3.5L engine (4x4). The gas tank had been replaced prior to me buying it. The problem I have is when I am filling the gas tank, the gas pump never shuts off until the gas overflows out of the top of the filler neck. If I stop with approximately a couple of gallons left to go and wait a couple of seconds and then finish filling, the gas pump will usually click off before the overflow happens. The filler neck and vent hose don't appear to be pinched. This happens at multiple gas stations and weather doesn't effect it happening. The only issues I could find on line was the stopping and starting when trying to fill up and mine doesn't do that at all, it will just go until overflows like I described.

My Santa Fe is a 2004 V6, with a replacement engine. I told I am in need of a new A/C compressor but haven't been able to get it done yet.
This evening I heard a squealing noise. It suddenly stopped, and then my brake and battery lights both went on.
I'm guessing my serpentine belt went out tonight. But I also wonder if the A/C compressor is contributing to the problem?
